Evening
I was at home in my room, laying down on my desk as I play with my pencil as I was drawing something. I couldn't help but to think what Astrid said the other day and I know something suspicious was going on with that. What seems to trigger her behaviour like that, but I don't know what to think.
Then Toothless jumps on my desk and meows.
"What should I do Bud, should I just man up and confessed Astrid already"I said to him, as I pet.
"I don't know what to do. I must man up and tell her"I stood up from my chair and proudly look at the Christmas picture that's hanging on my wall.
It's been like two years since we met and since then we've been good friends. I'm just having a hard time figuring out how to say it right to her, but I know I will ask her to go prom with me. I'll try.
~Next Day~
•Astrid's P.O.V•
It got me thinking about how far I've accomplished in Berk High and now we're only a month away to graduate and I'm excited about it but I'm wondering about Hiccup, where is he going to go after this. Will I see him again or do I just say it to him and get this over with because we've know. Each other for about two years and That kinda seems good to ask him right now.
I'm too shy to ask him even though we've teased each other a lot but since we're only young it make sense to let it happen in a way.
It's lunch time and I'm just basically walking with Heather to cafeteria then I received a text from Him. I look down and slightly blush.
Hiccup: Hey :)
My heart filled with butterflies that I don't know what to say. So I text back
Me: Hey :)
Hiccup: where you at?
Me: just heading to cafe, what about you?
Hiccup: just signing up for my graduation pictures to be taken
Me: nice!! I'll see you at the cafe!! ;)
Hiccup: haha alright :)
As I continue texting I then saw Hiccup standing in line, I couldn't help but to stare at Hiccup again as I saw him lining up, I was just day dreaming again and was very distracted.
"Uh oh she's staring again"Heather giggles, as I shook my head and shush her.
"Shush! This is very complicated and I don't want him to think I'm staring"I exclaimed, looking over at him again.
"Oh I'm sure he knows you stalking, little B##ch"She teases, I slap her shoulder
I scoffed"I can't help it! We're like few weeks away from graduation and got me thinking about prom. Which I need to get ready".
"Don't worry Astrid, we got a lot of time for that"She assured me.
"But I want to make it special, memorable"I sigh, as we walk away before he sees us.
"Listen, this is what every girl goes through eventually in school in many different situations. Relax, everything will be fine. He'll take you for sure, besides he got you that ring"She points at my finger"and that makes it like your his and he's yours".
"Like a Viking thing?"I said, looking a portrait on the hallway wall.
"Eeeeyeah!"Heather says oddly"I forgot what word is that mean but yeah!".
"Okay, I trust you"I sigh of relief and glance over at him.
"Don't worry, we got a lot of time!"She says eagerly"are you seeing him soon?".
"Yeah I told him to meet me here"I replied.
"Oh good! Just tell him then, before any more distractions"Heather said, as we sat down across.
I rubbed my face and thought about how I'm going to do this, I then saw Hiccup walking in as he looks around and spot me, he approaches and smile"hey".
"H-Hey!"I greet happily.
"What up Hiccup"Heather greets back, looks over at me with a her eyes narrowing at Hiccup.
Hiccup sat down"oh nothing much just running around, getting my graduation pictures to be taken and gown size".
"I like how they're doing the pictures early, instead of doing it at the graduation ceremony"Heather points out.
"Yeah I guess they want to make sure everyone got them"Hiccup said, as he starts to look at me"soooo how's Astrid?".
I shook my head"I'm doing good! Just chilling!".
"I'm gonna get food! Be right back"Heather gets up and leaves me with Him. Ah you little B-
"So, us again"He smirk, he's looking again.
I rolled my eyes"yes it's us again, alone. Finally".
I automatically try reaching my hand to his but I was just shy to say it.
"Listen the other day, I couldn't stop thinking about what you said"Hiccup raises the question.
I stop reaching and thought about what I said yesterday, about that Person"oh! I was just trying to see how similar we are with you know, bullies!".
"You've been bullied?"He raised his brows.
I sigh"something like that, I just want to forget it".
"Who was that person"
"It's hard to explain but I prefer to not talk about it"I avoid the question"I'd prefer to not mentioned about it".
Hiccup nods"I understand".
I then smile"hey, don't let it bother you. I'm okay. As long as I'm with you, I'm always okay"I then accidentally touched his fingers.
"Ooh don't rush it"He teases, as I begin blushing hard"there's always time in the world for Astrid & Hiccup".
I scoffed"oh Jheeeze you!! I just can't with you"I laugh as we then stare at each other.
"Hiccup"
"Astrid"
We both start glazing at each other as we stopped what we're doing, trying to read his expression as if he was looking for words to say but then I start speaking.
"I-"
"What up you love birds!!"
We blink fast and saw Tuffnut walking in with Ruffnut as they interrupted our moment. As they sat with us. Jheeeze you twins ruined the perfect moment! Great!
"Hey guys! You mind we join you?"Ruffnut asked, while she sit next to me.
"Not at all"I said, trying to sound friendly.
"Cool!"Tuffnut then brought up his lunch as he starts eating.
"So whatcha guys talking about?"Ruffnut interrupts the silent treatment.
I shrug"oh not much we were just talking about old times, graduation, prom".
"Planning I see!"Tuffnut interrupts"you both going?"
"Uhhh yeah?"Hiccup stammers, as we both look each other.
"As together?"
I slightly blush and try not to make it look obvious"well all of us are going so yeah all of us are going!!".
Ruffnut then looks at me suspiciously"oh I see, I see how it is!"
"What do you mean? We're all going you idiot!"Tuffnut barks at Ruffnut.
"I know we're all going dumba$$!"Ruffnut throws her plastic fork at him.
Then Hiccup slowly gets up and wave his hand to follow him, I nod my head and slowly get up and start walking with him as the twins are having an argument once again.
"Bunch of mutton heads!"I muttered and chuckle"Jheeeze those two, we're all going together as friends. Right?"I look over at Hiccup.
Hiccup shook"yes! Of course! Friends! It's not like we're doing something different".
I look at him"Yes! As friends or besties we should say!".
We both awkwardly walk together down the hallway
"Wanna go for a quick walk at the park?"I suggested, looking at him as he smiles back.
"Sure! Before these twins spot us"He chuckles as we both walk out of the cafeteria out to the front of Berk High and walk to the left which leads to a nearby park. It's great that a park is nearby our school, usually lunch time some students hang out there and relax.
"Sometimes I forget there's a park here"Hiccup said, as he sat down by the tree"sometimes we hide here from class".
"Skipping class Haddock"I tease, sitting down next to him as I put my backpack on the side.
"Its beautiful out here"I sigh, looking around and seeing a few people enjoying them selfs. And oddly enough we spot an elderly couple sitting together and enjoying themselves as well.
I couldn't help but to think of us together throughout our lives, but will it work out. Then we watched last of people walking by, several students too. We just sat there most of lunch period, then a gust of wind blew at us as I kinda shiver which me get closer.
"A little chilly Astrid"He teases, giving the sly look. I rolled my eyes and nudge his side.
"Oh zip it Hiccup!"I laugh, as we continue our relaxation until end of our lunch period.
This was the nicest and peaceful moment. I swear I almost fell asleep beside him but at the end we had to go back to class.
Meanwhile...
A silhouette that appears to be the same height as Hiccup creeped behind a tree in just a few trees away from Astrid and Hiccup. He stared as he looked disgusted of the couple.
"Why"
Author's Note: Sorry for the major delay! Been busy with college and now I'm graduating! Other than that I hope everyone is doing alright! So this summer I have a lot of time in my hands, so I'll be getting a job for awhile and work, take a year off from University and relax!!
