Jesus, it was already 3am, why am I not sleeping?
The thing is, I couldn't help but scroll and scroll through my feed of nothingness. Memes, funny videos, news, and philosophy.
Weird right? Philosophy? Can I get any lamer?
I can't help it!
I love reading people's opinions and thoughts about controversial questions, but sometimes I laugh at the stupid and hypocritical shit they say. One of my favourite questions has to be The Ship of Theseus.
After thinking about it, I decided to visit my favourite philosophy page to find the thread on this very famous paradox.
It's a thought experiment you see: a ship leaves to some next place, but along the way, pieces of the ship have to be replaced because of poor management or just it being old and easily damaged. All until the entire ship has been replaced by its new parts, but still ultimately keeping the ship's exact form.
And so, the question is: When it lands to it's destination, is that ship the same ship as it was when it left?

As I looked at the comments, I saw all kinds of debates and petty conversation, but there was one recent post that I found interesting.
Their handle was @LeoxDab_801 and they said:
"Life is in constant flux and will always be in a state of change - if pieces of that ship are being replaced, then it's no longer the same ship. Nothing is ever the same as it once was"
Huh, interesting point.
I was a believer of it being the same ship because regardless of the form, the entity of the mass will be the same.
Although I'm not the kind to reply to a tweet, I couldn't help but ask this person why they were so certain. I felt like if I ever had a chance to hear them say that, there'd be no wavering in their voice. What they said SCREAMS confidence.
I looked back at the time and it was - GHEEZZ, it was already 3:40am... where did time even go? Restlessness overruled me and I couldn't find myself doing anything but wait for a reply or toss and turn in bed blindly.
I shouldn't have drank that iced coffee...
Since I had nothing better to do and was bored out of my mind, I curiously clicked on that LeoxDab person to take a look on their profile, but all I saw were pictures of this Siamese looking cat with big blue eyes.
Ewwww, it was so fucking cute, I wanted to cry.
There were actually a million cat pictures and my heart was swelling up with adorableness.
But the little *ping* caught me off guard and I got a request for a conversation.
And look who it is! It's my cat person!

It may have the same form, the same flaws, the same materials, but it won't ever be the same ship it was before it left it's dock

Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks, and somehow, we never got tired of talking to each other. We learned deep secrets and such irrelevant facts about one another, so there was never a dull moment. Despite the major time differences between Korea and Ohio, we made it work.
This Yeonwoo person is very intriguing. She has a lot to say and is honestly one of the biggest dorks I know. She told me how every morning, she loves to dance around her apartment with her cat, Leo, and how she's super lazy when it comes to anything else.
I also learned a while back that she lives in Korea but is planning on traveling around the states - and I'm actually at the airport waiting for her. I told her how I lived in Ohio and she decided that she'd visit me first before starting some kind of road trip. We shared pictures and moments of each other so I don't think it'd be too hard to find her. But if there was one thing I was very curious about, it would have to be her voice.
In every video she shared, I'd only hear her adorable laugh and I never really hear anything else.
Suddenly, I got a notification on twitter and it was Yeonwoo asking me for my phone number.
Not even a minute passes and my phone begins to ring from an unknown caller, so I cautiously pick it up.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's me!"
The creamy voice on the line shocks me and I couldn't help but ask, "Yeonwoo! Where are you? I'm at the arrival gate."
"I think you should turn around."
Kinda creeped out and scared, I slowly turned around.
But lo and behold, I was star struck by her...
Height.
Ooooofff, and there's that smile, the smile I've been dreaming of-
I mean.... whaaaaaaaaattt
"Hey Gru, it's nice to finally meet you," she says and hugs me tightly.
Oh wow, she has a nice voice.
And nice eyes.
"Dabin! You're a lot taller than what I saw in the pictures," I said in awe.
"And you're a lot shorter from what I remember."
Her chuckle has my legs going limp and that smile she wears is definitely gonna haunt me.
Wow she's pretty.
"How are you here? I swear your flight just landed..." I questioned using hand gestures.
All she does is shrug, "My flight landed early and I wanted to grab a coffee."
"Ohhh Okay, Okay, I got it."
"Yeah," she says as she begins examining my face before confessing, "you're really cute."
All I was wearing was a hoodie, some shorts, and a pair of white tennis shoes. Not forgetting to mention, my hair was in such a messy bun because it was 6:30 in the morning.
"Ewwww, why are you lying," I tried shrugging off the comment, but I knew a blush was tickling my cheeks.
"Why would I ever lie, it's true," she says with another shrug and sits on her suitcase.
"Then I should be telling you how perfect you look - you literally got off the plane looking like this," her hair was neatly combed back, her button down seems as if it's just been ironed, and her jeans look so new - it just wasn't fair. "Did you wear this on the flight?"
She smiled AGAIN and told me, "I did have some time before you got here. I changed and freshened up you loser."
Another blush - this time of embarrassment - kicked the previous tint out of the ball park, "That's so true... what were you wearing anyways?"
She giggled a bit as she checked me out from head to toe and said, "I was literally wearing what you're wearing."
"Ah of course."
After that, we kinda stood with a weird awkward silence hanging between us until I finally had the guts to ask, "Wanna get another cup of coffee?"
Her eyes lit up at the suggestion, "Why not?"

I kinda had some trouble with this and thought it was kinda lame, but here you go lol.
