Devon

Tomorrow the western and northern warrior covens would be here.

Tomorrow, as in tonight by sunset.

The past week had been nothing but training, preparing everyone for war and battle tactics.

I was impressed with Cyrus and his plan, but I had my doubts.

I ran my hand through my hair, anxiety creeping up on me.

I wasn't worried about me of course, it was Emily I was silently freaking out about.

I wouldn't be with her tomorrow, I wouldn't be the one to protect her.

I understood why, I knew it would be better if she wasn't next to me because that's what they'd expect.

But I still couldn't shake off my nervousness and worry. I had faith in Xavier and I knew Emily could protect herself if needed.

The bathroom door opened and Emily stepped out in shorts and a gray t-shirt. Her long hair was damp, causing her shirt to have some darker spots from the water.

She smiled at me and walked over to where I was sitting on the bed.

She leaned in, placing her hands on my knees and kissing my forehead.

"I can practically hear your train of thought, stop worrying so much, everything will be okay." Her voice was soft and soothing, making me almost believe it.

I did my best to smile, I grabbed onto Emily's arms and pulled her on top of me.

We laid on the bed, her wet hair soaking into my shirt as she laid her head on my chest.

I held her tightly, doing my best to not think of every worst case scenario of tomorrow's events.

She twitched under my arms, I could tell she was noticing my worry as if it was a dark cloud above my head.

"Devon, I'll be okay, Xavier and I will be hidden away from the action, and I'll be right next to the river so I can protect myself if I need to." Emily said turning up to look me in the eyes.

I cupped one hand to her cheek.

She was so beautiful.

I couldn't even form the words in my head, all the things I wanted to say to her.

This girl, no, this woman, was my soul, my love, my new reason for existing.

Before I met her, my life was dark, I had grown bored of living. I was constantly on auto pilot, just going through the days and weeks, not really thinking or caring.

Then, when I first held her in my arms, it was like the fire within me roared back to life.

I didn't realize it at first, or maybe I didn't want to see it, but as time went by, I couldn't ignore it any longer.

I pulled her closer to me until our lips met. She moved until she was straddling my waist, her fingers threading through my hair.

Emily slowly leaned back a little, staring down at me with a soft smile.

"I love you." I whispered, her smile grew.

"I love you too."

She leaned back down, our lips met again. The kiss was filled with love and heat and passion.

I ran my hands over her body and she did the same to me.

It wasn't long before our clothes lay on the floor.

I asked her over and over if she was sure, but she would smile and kiss me again to shut me up.

I was slow and careful as I moved to be on top of her, I wanted tonight to be filled with nothing but love.

I could tell she was nervous at first, but I eased her worries with calm touches and soft kisses. She quickly became comfortable with my body and my touch.

As she lay naked in front of me, I couldn't help but admire every detail. Her body was beautiful, every curve, line and mark was like a work of art.

Her voice was soft and angelic, her body fit perfectly against mine. The way she breathily moaned my name was like music to me.

We held onto each other tightly, never letting go. Her breath was hot against my neck and her fingers dug into my back. It took us hours to be satisfied, as if we had both been holding back the need of each others bodies for too long. I wanted her over and over again, I don't think I'll ever be able to get enough.

Afterwards, we laid tangled in each others arms, the bed slightly damp with our sweat.

Even with war and death at the doorstep, I had never slept so peacefully in my life.

Xavier

I sat up in bed, the room very dimly lit by the summers sun trying to break through the curtains and tinted windows.

Malik slept peacefully beside me, seemingly unbothered by the coming events.

I pulled my knees to my chest, hugging myself tightly.

I couldn't sleep, my mind wouldn't let me.

I had the worst foreboding feeling in my gut, like something bad was going to happen.

I mean obviously there would be deaths tomorrow, but something told me it was going to be much worse than just that.

My body shook slightly at the thoughts running wild through my mind.

I was scared.

Not only was I scared for myself, I was also worried about Em.

What if I couldn't protect her and she got hurt? Or worse....

What if Malik were to get hurt? I wouldn't even know until afterwards.

What about Devon? Master Cyrus? My friends I had made within the coven? What would happen to them tomorrow?

I shook my head, trying to get those thoughts out of my head.

I needed to be strong, I had a duty to Emily and my coven. I couldn't let them down just because I was scared.

I laid back down, closing my eyes, doing everything I could to deter my thoughts from tomorrow.

It's going to be a long night.

Bellona

I awoke to the sound of robins singing as the sun began it's descent beyond the horizon.

I smiled, today was the day.

I jumped down from the tree I had been resting in. Warriors began to rise from the ground and jumping down from the trees after sleeping through the day.

I took a deep breath, the evening breeze blowing through my hair.

"Bellona, we should get moving soon if we want to arrive by nightfall." Thane said to me as he came closer.

"Of course, lets gather our warriors and head out, leave no trace that we were here." I said turning.

I could hardly contain my excitement. I couldn't help but let my grin grow as a thought crossed my mind.

The electus will die tonight.
