She gets up and tries to run away. "Jess," I grab her arm.
"Let go!!"
"Jess listen!!" she pulling and pulling. Fighting me, would she act like this if she know I was the same too.
She looks at me eyes wide then at my parents who where out of there seat. "Alice let go!!!" she pushes me. I stumble back but josh catches me.
I pull away from him and look at Jessica, "Jessica let me explain,"
"Alice," my dad says as Jess ran out. I went to go after her but someone grabbed. "She is scared and if you tell her now then she will never talk to you," dad whispers.
"I should...go..." josh says, "Dinner was really good Mrs. Lightwood thank you for inviting me." he walks over to me, "Bye Alice..."
I look at him, "I'll walk out with you..." I mumble and pull away from dad. I grab Joshes hand and we walk to his car. "You aren't fazed by this?" I ask him when we get to his car.
He shook his head, "I knew who he was, I don't care." he unlocks his car, "I don't agree with all this fighting with what Calvine is and every one else is. I think we could use each other for benefits," he opens the door and looks at me.
"Josh..." I say but stop, this was easier in my head. Telling him I can't be with him and we should move on is so hard to say.
He shook his head and smiles, "Don't worry Alice, I understand it's compacted right now."
"So...it's over?" I ask and bite my lip.
"Ya...friends still right?" I nod. "Well as a friend I would like to tell you something." he leans closer so hes inches from my face, "Pick your friends wisely and be careful of your choices now on, ok?" he had that look in his eyes like something really bad was going to happen.
I nod. He kisses my cheek and smiles, "I hope you get better days then today." for the first time I notice two pearly white fangs in his mouth as he got in the car. I step back and watch him drive away.
WORSE BIRTHDAY EVER!!!
I walk back in with Jess in my head, worrying if she is ok. Worrying if she will ever talk to me again. I don't know if I can handle that, she's like my sister.
"Alice, we have to talk," dad says. I walk into the living room and I see mom and dad sitting on the couch. I sit in the love seat next to them. "We need to leave to night or tomorrow," he says rubbing his face. "I wanted to leave monday but since I was found out we have to leave sooner."
I sigh, "What about mom?"
"Sweety-" mom says but I interrupt her.
"Jess may call the cops! They will antagonize you. What good is that, if we leave but they come after you,"
She looks away, "I can't come..." she mumbles.
"Alice is right thou..." dad says and looks at mom. "I...we can't just leave you with that in mind."
"Cal you know what will happen when I get there," she's snaps covering her face.
"What will happen?" I ask looking at dad.
"We, as in all of us, use to appreciate the humans and respect them, but once they attacked all of it was lost. Not ALL werewolfs are fights, four of them are royalty and one is an Elder. The rest of us, we are fights to protect them." he looks at me, "When a human steps foot on sacred grounds, they become our slaves, or sent to death."
I froze. What are we going to do? Mom can't Go threw that, it's not right. But I can't have her to be the only human that knows where dad is.
Dad gets up, "Willow, Alice go pack. When we get there, I'll...I'll negotiate something with them."
Dad walks out back. I look at mom and she look like she was going to cry. Immediately, I went by her side and hugged her. "Mama I'm sorry..."
She pushes me away, tears in her eyes. She smiles a little and tucks a loose strand behind my ear. "Honey what ever happens you need to worry about yourself. Times are tough for you right now and until someone can setal all this out it will never change." she kisses my fore head and puts her head on mine, "I love you so much."
"Mama..."
"Honey, I need you to be strong for me, what ever it takes I want you to be happy and have your beautiful smile on your face, ok?" I nod and she looks at me. "Let's go pack," she says whipping her eyes as she walks to her room.
-few hours late-
Laying my head on the glass of the back seat of a car window, isn't very fun. Even more so when you have been in a car for almost 5 hours, going somewhere and not being told where. Alls I know we are somewhere near Ohio, with lots of trees.
I wrap my hands around the necklace dad gave me that is in my lap. I'm really scared to meet the others. If they kill humans or make them slaves they don't seem very nice.
"Alice," my mom says, "Look." she points to her left reaching a crossed dad. I scoot to the other side of the car and look at the top of the tree lining.
There was a huge stone castle there on top of the hills. (I'll try to look for a picture) it had the typical guard towers the walls the giant gate. The huge stone building in the back that you can barely see.
"Woah!" I say.
Mom and dad laugh before the car made a sudden screeching stop.
