the moon shines over my skin
concealing me in the shadows of light and dark
but when the moon is shadowed by the clouds
it's just me, and the moon and i are left apart
the moon is like my identity
splitting and falling, waxing and waning
but when the moon stays
my identity doesn't
i struggle to identify with who i am
so i seek solace in the full moon
alone i am seated
staring out the window at nothing but the moon.
the reflection is not me.
