Yang POV
"It's not what it looks like!" I say. I let go of Blake, and we get a good distance between us us. Ruby had this look of pure happiness.
"Yang has a girlfriend, Yang has a girlfriend!" "RUBY, IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" "Then why'd you kiss?". She asked, why did she kiss me? Why did i kiss back? "I don't have to explain myself to you!" i say, i just didn't have an answer.
"Look, forget you saw anything, it was a mistake." Blake says, she rubs her arm and looks at the ground. Ruby walks up to me, and study's my face. "Hmmmmm, fine, I'll go with what your girlfriend said. Also, uncle Qrow is coming soon to celebrate his birthday."
I already got the gift for him, but I didn't realize he was coming soon. "Wait, Qrow's coming?" "Not denying your relationship?" Ruby said with a smirk. "A. We aren't dating, B. Uncle Qrow's coming?" "Yeah, he wants us to go to a bar."
I nod, first I'm hearing about this. "When is he gonna be here?" "Tomorrow." "RUBY, THAT TOMMOROW, NOT SOON!" I say, basically yelling. "Yang, calm down, you'll wake up White." Blake says. "Why doesn't your girlfriend come with?" Ruby said, pointing to Blake.
"Ohhhhh, no, not happening. He'll just try to get Blake drunk." I say, crossing my arms, a bit angry. "Maybe, buuut, she'll get to meet Qrow." I get a deadpan expression on my face.
"Ok, do I want a possibility drunk Blake, or do I want Blake to not have to deal with Qrow." Ruby looked at me with a pleading look. "Pleeeaaaas Yang, I'm taking Weiss with me." She said, holding her hands out in front of her.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Weiss says. "No offense Hun, but your a light weight." Ruby said, rubbing the back of her neck. "I have no idea what Blake tolerance is, could be high or low." I say taking a step forward and gesture twords Blake.
"I'm a light weight, so not the best idea, not only that, I'm a daycare worker so also not a good idea to come in with a hangover or something." Blake says, she's been quieter.
"See, can't go!" I say, not taking my eyes off Ruby. "Or she can, she can just call in sick, or not drink." Ruby says again, how badly dose she want her to meet Qrow? "I have a question. Why am I just hearing about this?" "Oh, uncle Qrow wanted me to not tell you for some reason."
I will never understand my side of the family. My mother left me with my dad as a kid, and uncle Qrow, is well, Qrow. "Fine, look, we're going to leave, and grab Qrow's gift, see you tomorrow." "Bye, see ya." Ruby said as she waved out the door as we walked out.
We get on my bike and hand Blake her helmet. "You want to pick up his gift with me?" I ask, expecting her to say no. "Sure, we where supposed to hang out today anyway." She puts on her helmet. I put on mine and we drive off.
~time skip~
We got to the mall around 20 minutes later. I take off my helmet and tap Blake's shoulder. "We're here" she takes off her helmet and gets off the bike. "I have to get used to that speed." I chuckled and get off the bike.
We walk in and start walking twords the store I had ordered Qrow's gift in. We pass a book store and I see Blake looking at the window at a book that was just released. "Want to check it out later." She smiled and nods her head.
We get to the store and as soon as we walked in, the owner yelled at Blake to get out. "Why does she have to get out?" I ask, raising an eyebrow. "Her kind aren't welcome in my store." I turn around to look at Blake who's ears flattened against her head.
"I'll wait outside, don't worry about it." She said sadly as she started to walk out. "wait, stay in here, it's fine." I say with a smile. "What?! No, I want her out of here-" the store manager started but got cut off by me grabbing his collar.
I pull him close to my face and my eyes go red. "Listen here you little shit stain, that girl is allowed in here whenever she wants, understand?" The boy nods and I let go of him. He backs away and I motioned to Blake to stand by me.
"Are you sure it's ok?" She asked. "Y-yes, your friend here is very convincing that your a good person." The man behind the counter said. "Yang, did you threaten him?" "Maybe". I get what I ordered, a flask with a shot glass build in. We walk out and I wave to the man.
"Yang, what did you threaten him with?" "I didn't, I just told him you should be allowed in there." I mean, I'm not lieing. She looks at me, not believe me. "Well, I can't prove you didn't so I'll have to take your word."
We walk back to the book store Blake was looking at and head inside. "So, what kind of books do you read?" I ask, as Blake looks through the books on the book shelf. "Hm? Oh, I like to read a lot of adventure, and romantic books.
"Oh, I don't read much, but when I do I like to read adventure or action. " She nods and finds a book that catches her eye. She takes a second to read the back and then the first page. She closes the book and turns to me. "Got the book I want, I'll buy it and we can leave."
As we're at the counter I look at the book title, "The distance between us" weird. She pays and we leave. "So, what's the book about?" I ask, she looks at the book and back at me.
"Well, it's a love story. It's about these two girls. They live very far away from each other and want to meet. But the thing is they are in love, but they come from very antigay house holds, so they have to run away and find each other on their own."
I nod "sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out." I say, as we walk to my motorcycle. We get on, put on our helmets and I drove off. Took about 15 minutes to get back so it was about 12:35. As we walk inside, we split off into our aparments.
Great, the rest of the day is going to be so boring, I'd rather spend some more time with Blake. But why, I was fine before, when I became friends with Blake, I've just wanted to spend time with her.
I'm probably going crazy, I mean yeah, she's kind, and smart, and pretty, understanding, patient, positive, and just her. But why do I want to always be around her? God's damn emotions!
What can I do? What to do, I mean, I could see a movie, bring Blake with me. Nope, I need to do something without Blake. Fuck it, I'm going to see Nora.
She doesn't live that far from me so I just walk, try to clear my head. What can I do to clear my head, Blake helps, but I'm trying to clear my head of her. Yeah, I think just helping Nora and Ren will help.
I get to their apartment building and go to their apartment. I knock on the door and wait. "For the last time i-oh, hey Yang, what's up?" "Hey Nora, need any help...at all?" I ask, my hands in my pockets.
"No, not really, but your welcome to come in." She said moving to the side to let me in. "So what's up, why'd you come over?" "What, a friend can't come over to say hi and to check on you?"
She just looked at me with a deadpan stare as she crosses her arms. "Yes, but, something is bothering you, what is it?" Jeez, how well dose this girl know me? "Ok fine, yes, something is bothering me, but I came to help and clear my head!"
She walks me to the couch, and she sits down. "What exactly is going on?" She asked, I tell her about Blake, about how I can't get her out of my mind, how I want to always be with her for some reason.
She looks at me an smiles, she get a look like she knows exactly what's going on. "Lady, do you like her, is love a possiblity?" "I-i don't know at this point. She just refuses to leave my mind, her Amber eyes, and Raven black hair, she's beautiful."
Nora puts a hand on my shoulder. And she looks at me to go on. "Like, if I have a dime for every time she crossed my mind I'd have 1, she's always on my mind!" Nora chuckled a little.
Ren walks out and goes around the couch to sit next to us. "From everything I heard, I'd say you are in love with this girl, how long have you known her?" He asked. "I've known of her for a long time, but we only recently became friends." He nods.
"Ok, so maybe it's not exactly love, love takes time to build and grow, like a flower. You give it what it needs and it will grow and blossom, but neglect it and it will shrivel and die. I I doubt that you can already love her after a short amount of time, but it is possible."
What the hell kind of level is this dude on? "What do you mean by "it's possible"? I can't already love Blake!" I was getting a little angry but I could keep it under control. "Ok, whatever you say Yang, whatever you say." Nora said with a wink.
"Look, I didn't come to think about Blake, I came to help and clear my mind, anything I can do?" Nora looked at me a signed. "Yang, you can go home and talk to this girl." With that, she stood up and basically kicked me out.
Jeez, I don't know what I did, I mean yeah, I came over uninvited, but she likes to do that all the time. Whatever, doesn't matter right now. I'll probably go see a movie or something.
Blake POV
Yang and I split up and head to our apartments, I grab my new book and sit on the couch and start reading, or trying to at least. I can't focus on the book at all, the book just seems boring right now.
It's a good book from the little I was able to read, but I can't focus, my mind just drifts to the same thing. Gods, why am I like this. I try to focus but my mind turns back to the same thing...Yang.
I close my book and look for something to do, reading doesn't help, and the T.V. is still busted from Sun. THATS IT, I'LL JUST CALL SUN, HE'S OFF TODAY! I Grab my phone and look for his number.
"Hello? What's up Blake?" "Hey Sun, want to come over, you can bring Neptune." "What's wrong?" "Nothing, just borde and want to hang out with someone." "Why don't you hang out with Yang?" "That is the last thing I need right now!" "You sound angry, what's up, what did she do?" "She didn't DO anything, I just can't see her right now." " *Sigh* I'll be over in 5" "Thanks, see ya soon." *Hang up.*
Cool, I'll just wait till then.
~5 minutes later~
I hear a knock on my door, I jump up and just jump over the couch. "Sun, how are you, come in." He looked confused but still came in. "Ok, what's wrong, what did Yang do to you?" "What, nothing, I just don't want to see her."
He looked at me and raised an eyebrow. "Then how come seeing Yang is the last thing you need?" "I don't want to get into it." He looked at with a look that said it all. I walk over to the couch and he starts to make tea.
After a little bit he sits next to me. "Blake, your safe, what happened with Yang?" "Nothing! She's been so nice to me and I don't know why!" I say, I'm starting to get angry and confused. Sun puts a hand on my back.
"Blake, what's going on?" "I don't know, Yang is being so sweet to me, I don't know why. I can't get her out of my head, her blond hair, lilac eyes, her smile, her sweat voice. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!" I yell, I don't understand.
Sun looked at me with an entertained look. "You don't happen to like Yang, do you?" "What, no, we haven't even been friends long." "Ok, ok, how dose she make you feel?" I think for a moment, she makes me feel a lot of different things.
"Well, she makes me feel safe, and on edge. She makes me want to scream in joy, and I just want to be with her all the time now." Sun looked to happy for some reason. "Blake, are you in love with her?" "What, no, we've know of each other for a while, but we haven't been friends long."
Yeah, I can't be, that's crazy. "Know what, I called you over not to talk about Yang, but to just hang out and have fun." I say, crossing my arms. "Fine fine fine, what do you want to do?" He asked.
"Don't know, what about you?" "Well I, have to check on my boyfriend to make sure he's not burning down our house." "You just got here!" "And I have to leave, have fun with Yang" he winks and runs out the door.
What the hell was that all about, he just got here. Ugh, now I'm alone again. What can I do, I could read, but that did nothing.
I hear a knock at my door and open it to see Yang standing in my door way. "Hey, Ruby was blowing up my phone about asking you to come to the bar with us, so, do you want to come."
"Sure, I just won't drink." I was supposed to say no, what the hell am I saying yes now?! "Oh, ok, I'll be back here around 18:30 (6:30) so we can go, I'll just call a cab to take us then take us back."
Ok, that's responsible of her. "Cool, sounds like a plan." I say, i could invite her in to just hang out more. "Oh, also, I'm going to see a movie, I invited my friend Coco, but she can't go so I just have an extra ticket, want to go?"
Whhhyyyy, why is this a thing now? No, I just want you to get out of my head. "Sure, what movie is it?" "It's 'Reveng or the Ursa' it's an action movie." "Cool, when does it start?" "In 20 minutes." I just give her a "really" stare.
I grab my ribbon and put it around my ears. "Ok, when should we leave?" "Whenever your ready." "Cool, let's go." She leads me out to the motorcycle again, and we get on.
A short ride later we get to the theater. We get get snacks, Yang refused to let me pay for anything, and we head into our room. "Why did you decide to bring me of all people?" "Well, today was supposed to be our date day anyway."
I blush a bit and we sit down. As we watch the movie, I can focus a lot more, and not just think about Yang the entire time. About an hour and a half later the movie finished and we head back.
We head to my appointment and talk for a bit longer. "How'd you like the movie?" Yang asked while I poor cold tea (took it off the burner earlier). "I loved it, I like the ending a lot."
She nods, "I actually didn't like the ending that much." "Why's that?" "Well, they guy was given the chance to have a great life, and a promising future, all he had to do was not get to see the 24/7, but still get to see her a lot."
I hand her her tea. "But, he gave it all up for the girl, to always be with her. Gives guys a stupid standard to live up to." I never thought if it that way, that is honest stupid.
"What if it happened to you?" I ask, I want to hear her answer. She took a long sip of tea and set it down.
"Personally, I would take it, sure I wouldn't get to see my girlfriend all the time, but we can live comfortably and still have fun. I could take her places, and have fun all the same. Not only that, if something happens to her, like, if she gets hurt really badly, I can pay for the hospital bill."
...ok then. She has a good point, and I have to agree with that answer. "But that's just me." She says flashing a smile. "Yeah, I would probably do the same, I want to take care of my partner."
We talked a bit longer, it was about 15:05 (3:05) when Yang got a call. She looked at her phone, and got up and went to the corner.
"Hello?.....Ok, when?......I see.......who is it this time?....... really, she hasn't won many fights.......she requested to fight me?..........ok, in about 2 weeks?.....ok, bye." With that she hung up.
She came back and sat down. "What was that about?" I ask. "My next match, it with a girl named Neo Rainbow, she hasn't won very many fights but wants to fight me." I nod, I've never heard of this girl.
"You nerves at all?" "No, not really. She mainly uses speed to help her win and make her opponents tiered, but that's not going to work on me." She says with a proud smile. I'll be sure to watch this fight."
We spent the rest of the day at my place. She we talked a bit more, I read my new book a bit, and Yang played on her phone. We would talk for a bit, then back to what we where doing before. Until Yang stood up and stretched a bit.
"Yeah, it's 10:00 (I'm to lazy to use military time now.) I should go get some rest, you should do the same." I nod and Yang walks twords the door. "See you at 6:30 tomorrow" "see ya." With that, she closed the door and I was left in a silent apartment, just by myself.
I changed into PJ's and lay down, I couldn't sleep for a bit, my mind was everywhere. But eventually, everything went black.
