hi! i just wanted to make sure you all get how to pronounce Alaïa since it is not a name everyone knows, and i do not want it to get confusing when you are reading about Alaïa and Aaliyah since it kinda sounds alike:)

Finally being done with a long class of Geography, I reach my English class
"Thanks, Skylar for bringing me to class" we laugh together.
I had spent my whole day with the group Skylar introduced me to. At lunch, we sat together and we were all talking and laughing. After almost choking on my drink we laughed again because there was juice dripping down my chin making Skylar spit out her drink on Valencia's jeans
After that, I didn't see Valencia and Skylar told me she went home because her jeans started to stick to her skin. She wanted to return back to school but realized her only class left was physical education making her not think twice about staying home
"Of course my dear friend" Skylar says before giving me a hug and going to her own class
I walk into my English classroom and search for a seat in the back
I sit down and place my books on my table sighing heavily
I look at the door and see Elijah and Xander walk in. They look around before seeing me and they both give a little wave making me let out a laugh. They walk towards me and Xander takes a little sprint before sitting down next to me
Elijah pouts and sits down behind us and Xander sticks out his tongue
"You guys are so childish" I laugh
The teacher walks into the classroom and everyone gets silent. The lesson starts and I sigh again letting my head fall onto the table. Xander softly pets my head before concentrating on the lesson again
After a view minutes, I hear the classroom door open and the teacher stops talking. My head shots up wanting to know what is going on but I regret it as soon as I see Shawn's head
"Mendes, you decided to show up to class" the teacher says a surprised look on her face
"Yeah Clara, just don't make a habit out of it," Shawn says and the whole class starts laughing. I just look around trying to see the fun that they were all so happy about. All I see is an annoying jerk being rude towards a teacher
"Just go sit next to Elijah," the teacher says and continues her lesson about some book we need to read
"Hey, you" I hear someone whisper behind me. I turn around and see Shawn looking at me. I turn around and ignore his annoying calls
"Skittles" no
"nugget" hell no
"pancake" no no no
"cupcake"
If he doesn't shut his stupid mouth fast I'm so gonna kill that son of a-,
"skittle nugget potato pancake" oh my gosh
I turn around and look at him with a look that could maybe kill him, it did not unfortunately
"What do you want asshole" he smirks and thinks a second
"Sassy you and me in bed" I hear Xander and Elijah's scoff slightly listening to our conversation
"Well keep dreaming"
"Oh, believe me, I will," he says and I roll my eyes
"Miss Martinez, do you know the answer" I turn back around and our teacher is standing right in front of my table
"Do I look like I know the answer?" I say back and immediately regret it
"That's enough. First, you do not pay attention in class and then give me this attitude, detention after school"
"What, no I can't. I didn't even mean that. Please don't let me go to detention" I sigh.
Yes I know I sound desperate but if my dad finds out I'm in trouble on my first day he's going to kill me
"Too late to realize that. Detention" the teacher says and I let out a loud groan before letting my head fall down on the table again
Stupid teachers with their stupid detentions
I hear Shawn laugh behind me and I turn around to give him the finger, i then turn back around and act like i pay attention to the teacher
after English class ends, I quickly make my way towards physical education.
I walk into the changing rooms and see 4 girls already changing, one of them being Skylar.
"Hey Sky" I let myself fall down on the bench before realizing that I didn't have any clothes with me
"Hey Alaïa, wow you look like shit. What happened"
"I got detention because someone kept trying to talk to me"
"Someone desperately wants your attention" she gives me a wink and puts her hair into a ponytail before checking me out from head to toe
"Why aren't you changing" she asks and i sigh
''I don't have clothes with me"
"Don't worry girl I got you" she says before turning back to her gym bag getting out 3 different shirts and 2 leggings
"Okay what the hell," I say and laugh.
"I like being prepared for gym" she says and lets out a laugh too
Skylar gives me a white top and black leggings
"thank you Sky"
''No problem friend"
I fast change before we make our way to the school's gym. All the boys were playing basketball together while the girls sat down and talked about everything and nothing
Skylar and I make our way to the benches and watch the boys play basketball.
I fast see that Xander, James and Elijah are also in our gym class but that's also the moment I see Shawn with a group of boys around him.
The teacher walks in and makes everyone sit down.
"Hello class, today we will get started with running a few laps so stand up everybody," he says clapping his hand

I groan and hear Skylar do the same. Everyone stands up and the teacher whistles making everyone start running. Of course, the popular boys in the front and most of the girls in the back
"Come on girls" the teacher yells
After 2 hours of torture, gym finally ends and I was all sweaty and gross because we needed to play basketball which sucks
I hate playing basketball.
Everyone walks to the changing rooms and starts getting changed. Some do not at all since school is done, for them
I am stuck at school for a stupid detention which I do not deserve by the way
I get changed into my regular clothes and tell Skylar I'll wash her clothes before returning them.
I hug her before making my way to room 104 as my teacher told me to do. I enter the classroom seeing no one around. I sigh and sit down and a woman comes walking in a coffee In her hands
"You must be Alaïa. Not so smart to get detention on your first day is it" she laughs and sits down at her desk
"It wasn't my fault"
"Yeah yeah. Go do your homework or something. Make this detention worth it"
I groan and grab one of my books
I hear the door open again
"Well hello Shawn," the woman says and I look up
"Hello, Lily," he says before his eyes meet mine. He smirks and makes his way towards me sitting down next to me
I just look back at my book and try to make my homework
"Hey you" he whispers
"What do you want" I grit through my teeth. He says nothing and I roll my eyes turning back to my books
For a while it's silent and I make some assignments for my English class before I felt someone tapping my leg. I see Shawn tapping his finger against my thigh over and over again before I pull my leg to the other side
"Stop being annoying"
"skittles. That's my new nickname for you" he says proudly
"Annoying asshole, that's my nickname for you"
"You love me"
"I so do not love you"
"You think I'm a sexy beast"
"You wish"
"You want to hate me but love me in bed"
"Yea- wait what"
Why is this boy not making any sense
"I knew it" he smirks. I again roll my eyes before letting my head fall down on the table not missing the laugh coming from his mouth

The long, long hour in detention had ended 5 minutes ago. I am standing outside under the roof of the school building and it was raining, of course
I had called my dad several times but he didn't pick up. That meant I needed to walk home
I sigh and pull my coat tighter to my body starting to walk into the rain. After five minutes of walking, I was already completely soaked and realizing I still needed to walk for another fifteen minutes was making me just want to sit down waiting for my dad to come to get me
But of course, I didn't do that
Cars pass me and ten seconds later a Jeep drives by and pulls up at the side road a second later. The window opens and I look in to see Shawn staring right at me
"Get in loser," he says and I don't think twice before getting into the big black Jeep
"Thanks" I shiver. He pulls his coat off and hands it to me. I grab it and thank him softly again
I wrap his coat around my wet body and his nice smell immediately makes its way into my nose
"So smartass, where is that house of yours," he asks and I tell him my address. He smirks and he softly slaps my shoulder with his hand
"Well sweetheart I live one street away so if you ever feel lonely, just visit me," he says
"asshole"
"what you meant to say is sexy, hot, manly man who you love" he says and I almost gag
"you wish"
"I do actually, I'm sure I will have a good night sleep thinking about you naked in my bed"
"Yeah, until I kick you out of the bed"
"Why would you do that? Girls beg me to stay in their bed after the, you know" he says and gives me a wink.
I roll my eyes as we arrive at my house. the rain was still heavenly pouring and I pout
"well thank you, Mendes"
"no problem Martinez, now get out" he laughs and pushes me out of the door
"asshole" I mutter
"thank you skittles, see you at school," he says, gives me his famous smirk and drives off.
I open the door to my house. I didn't know what was wrong with that guy. All these guys ever look for is a girl who wants to get used for sex
"Alaïa" my brother screams before jumping onto me making me fall onto the couch
"Ow, what is it Jake. My feelings and body are hurt because of you" I see him roll his eyes as I push him off of me
"today I auditioned as you know and guess what"
"you know I don't like guessing, what"
"I got the roll, I will be playing in a movie" my eyes widen as I hear his word
my brother always wanted to be an actor but they always told him he wasn't good enough.
"oh my gosh Jake, that's amazing! which movie is it?"
"it's a thriller movie, I don't have a really big role but I'm going to be staying around with filming for the whole movie. oh god I'm so happy"
I'm so happy for you. you're going to be a star" I smile and hug him
"well, I don't know about that. I'm just happy that I finally get a chance to do something I really love" he says and I smile patting his shoulder and kissing his cheek
"I'm proud of you" Ii tell him as he smiles and sits down on the couch. I make my way to the kitchen
I see a bucket full of ice cream and I lick my lips. I grab it and make my way towards the couch. I see Jake watching football but no, not in the mood for that.
I grab the remote and start-up Netflix
"what are you doing" Jake groans trying to grab the remote but I hold it back
"I want to watch my series"
"I was watching the game"
"I don't care"I start up my series and he groans trying to grab the remote again but I fast put the remote into my shirt
"what the hell," he says and makes his way up the stairs
i smile and realize i had won this time. that needed to be celebrated with some ice cream
