Hiccup was still standing upon a high cliff, looking into the horizon, where far away there was a boat. On that boat, was the blonde haired, beautiful shining ocean-colored eyed girl that was his one and only love. He had no idea who that girl was, but, he had a feeling that he should be close to her. He also had something in his gut hurting him. Hiccup didn't know why he was, but he had been standing there for hours watching that boat disappear with each minute.
Hiccup's POV
I woke with a jolt. Just as I opened my eyes, I saw something big, black and blurry. I then adjusted myself while rubbing my eyes, and just as I did, the figure before me turned out to be a giant, scaly black lizard with big green eyes. I screamed at the top of his lungs, not knowing what that thing was. Though this creature is not attacking me for some reason. In what looked like confusion the creature backed away from me. Then in less than a minute, a woman who looked in her middle 40s with green eyes and auburn-red hair ran into the room
"Hiccup what's wrong?!" The lady asked
I don't know this lady, in fact, I looked around myself, I have no idea where I am. I felt a wave of pain come over my head
"Hiccup? Son are you okay? You look confused and scared." The woman walked over to me "I hope that fall didn't do too much to your head."
"Who are you?" I asked as sane as I could
The woman looked worried
"Toothless please wait outside." The lady told the creature "I'm going to go and get Gothi, don't move son, it won't take long."
Later on, the woman came back with what looked like a 100-year-old woman who was half the height of her staff.
She poked and prodded me and looked me over before she started scribbling on the ground with her staff
"She wants to know what your name is." The woman asked
"Hiccup." I answered
The short woman scribbled again
"How old are you?"
"I. I don't know."
The woman frowned before looking back down at the ground
"Where are you?"
"I don't know."
After a bit more talking, I was told that I had lost my memory. I was told that woman with auburn-reddish hair was my mother and she told me that the black creature is my best friend Toothless, a dragon. She also said that I shouldn't be afraid of him because Toothless would never ever hurt me. She told me a lot of things about my life that I couldn't seem to recall at all. The short woman scribbled on the ground saying that I would eventually remember everything again, but it would take a lot of time. I then met with a girl who looked exactly like me
"Hiccup?" The girl walked in
"Who are you?" I turned to face her
"It's your twin sister, Hope. I have some drawings and sketches that I want you to look at."
She sat down on the foot of the bed with papers in her hand
"Okay, I want you to look at these and tell me if you recognize anything." She pulled out a drawing of five teens, all with creatures behind them "Do you recognize them?"
"No. No, I don't." I shook my head
"Okay, maybe this one?"
She pulled out a painting of a man with red hair next to a short and skinny boy with brown hair
"No. I don't."
I saw tears run down her cheeks as she pulled out another drawing

Since I lost my memory I couldn't be Chief of the island until I remember what I don't. So Hope and this man named Eret took care of everything.
Later I met with everyone else in my life but none look familiar to me. All of them say that they know me, that we've been through so many different adventures, all of which I stared at them, none of it rings a bell.
"Do you remember Alvin?" A husky blonde boy asked
I shook my head
"Dagur? Heather?" A boy with long blonde hair asked
"The edge? Viggo? Ryker? Krogan? Johann?" A short boy with black hair continued
I shook my head 'no' to all of them
I could only think about the girl with golden hair. Who was that girl? I've decided to keep her a secret to myself. I was then told that I was engaged to a girl named Angelica. Though I couldn't seem to have a connection with her so her, so, I just ignored her.

I was standing in the forest, wandering with Toothless behind. Then I heard singing. But in an ancient language. A girl with a beautiful voice and not any girl it was the blond girl. She was singing with tears in her eyes.

The song was sad and short. Just as she finished she sank to her knees and cried her eyes out. I knew why she was crying but only in my dreams, I did. She was crying because she had now found out that her brother and father are dead. I slowly approached her. The way she cried broke my heart a million pieces. I slowly and gently sat beside her and wrapped my arm around her. Then she wept onto my shoulder.
I woke up with tears streaming down my cheeks

That morning I was with my sister, we were just wandering in the forest
"And then I went to the forge to make saddles while Eret went on patrol before I had to go to a Chief meeting." Hope was explaining what she did yesterday
"Who was at the meeting?" I asked
"Heather, Chieftess of Berserker island, Alvin, Chief of the Outcasts, Dagur, King of the Defenders of the Wings, and Atali, leader of the Wingmaidens"
"Do I know them?"
"You do, you, Heather, Dagur and Alvin go way back, from when you were 16 years old, and then Atali you met when you were 19 years old."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I met them, but, I met them only a few years ago, except for Heather, who I've known since when you guys met her."
"Huh."
Just then, we accidentally bumped into someone. He was a guy who seemed about my age but with blond hair and brown eyes, he was also a bit shorter than me
"Cant you two watch where you going?"
"Gee Lincoln would you not be so grumpy! It was an accident." Hope retorted
"Hiccup, you seem silent today."
I just stared him in the eye, I had a feeling in my gut I should hate that guy
"I heard you lost your memory. Too bad, must feel terrible not knowing anything about your past." Lincoln said
"Knock it off Lincoln leave him alone!" Hope yelled
"So now you need your little sister to stick up for you! Pity."
I wanted so badly to punch the guy in the face. But before I could, Hope dragged me aside and we continued to walk away from Lincoln.
"Always choose to ignore him. That way he'll leave you alone." Hope said after a few minutes
And we didn't say anything after that

I was standing on that same place from last time in the forest. The place where that girl wept onto my shoulder. But now she was weeping onto Lincoln's shoulder. Hiccup knew why. She was feeling desperate for anyone to be there for her. But I couldn't move. I didn't move. I couldn't. I was the reason she was crying because I remembered that just a few days ago was my engagement. It was not my place to be the one hugging her. So I didn't do anything as she wept hugging Lincoln. I didn't do anything as Lincoln played with her hair, then lifted her chin. And I didn't do anything as Lincoln kissed her lips. I just stood with a broken heart and tears swelling in my eyes as I watched them with their backs to me. Suddenly, as if her senses came back, the girl pushed Lincoln away saying :"DON'T YOU DARE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS LINCOLN." The she slapped him and ran.
Once again I woke up with tears in my eyes
"Don't worry, you'll be fine Hiccup." Hope and I were walking to the Great Hall for a Cheif meeting that she insisted on me coming to
"Good afternoon everyone!" Hope greeted
"Hello, Chief!" Angelica greeted
Hope sat down at the table, and I sat next to her
"So, you said that you've had problems with dragon attacks?"
"And they won't stop! We're close to going past peace with them!" One of the Viking men spoke up
"We know how you feel about the dragons and we know that they are gentle as well, but we can't figure out why they attack!" Another man explained
"I've tried to explain to them to keep calm, but nothing works." Angelica explained
"Well, how about I go introduce you to some of our finest dragon riders that will come back to your island to help with the problem." Hope got up, as well as the two men "Watch Hiccup for me Angelica."
"Will do Chief." Angelica replied
I looked over at Angelica, as she looked back at me
"Look, Hiccup, I know you don't remember what had happened before you post your memory, but, I like you Hiccup, even though this engagement was just made to form an alliance." Angelica leaned forward and kissed me
But I didn't feel anything towards her
"I'm-I'm sorry, I need to go." I got up and ran towards the door
I couldn't remove that blond girl out of my thoughts

I was at my engagement party. I was standing beside Angelica but I couldn't remove my eyes off her. Not Angelica, but that blond girl. She was wearing a beautiful dress but she wouldn't meet my gaze. Then someone announced that it was time for the rings. They placed the rings and then the entire hall was cheering, later Angelica's father then said that it was time to a kiss. I feared this from happening but I didn't have a choice. So they quickly kissed. Again the hall erupted into cheers but I couldn't hear any of it. For I finally met her gaze , and she was crying. All I could hear was the slow breaking of her heart

I awoke in the middle of the night. That was it. I had to find out who is she in any way. So, I started looking around my room over and over. In shelves, books, closets, until I found a book. My diary. It was full of her pictures. All of them smiling. I was starting to wonder how she looked when she smiled. She is beautiful, no gorgeous. I read on and on in my diary. Astrid. That was her name, and she was my girlfriend. No wonder I felt a connection to her!
'Today Astrid left Berk on a ship with her mother, leaving everyone else she loved behind her. I stood, watching the ship leave with every passing second. Then, I ordered Eret to keep me informed of what happened to her ship. I was way too worried for her and wanted to make sure she made it there safe. But later that night, Eret came to my house and informed me of the worst. Astrid's ship went through a terrible storm. That storm broke the ship in half. No one survived. I shouldn't have let her go. She died because of me.'
I turned to the last page, a picture of her with tears falling across her face. That was the last face I saw of her before she died. The date was a month ago. I closed my diary. Tears threatening to fall. I slowly put the book back in it's place then climbed back into bed. And cried. Cried for how I lost the love of my life. No wonder every day I woke up from my dreams crying.
I didn't sleep that night. I couldn't talk for the entire day, for the fate had broken his heart a million pieces, which can never be fixed. Not without Astrid.
