After performing at Music Bank and winning our third win for our latest comeback, I immediately collapsed on the couch.
Soon after, the other 7 members in the group came into the room and plopped on the ground.
Yup, you heard right - we were an 8 member group. Daisy and Jane sat together at the table playing a game on their phones, Jooe, Hyebin, and Ahin were just chilling on the floor over gimbap, and Taeha and Nayun were on the couch with me.
To be honest, I wonder what life would've been like with another member.
Suddenly, Daisy and Jane jump out of their seats and run to me.
"Nancy! Have you seen what's on the media?"
"Bro, check it out!"
While asking me, Jane showed the others her phone, and whatever was on her screen really got them going.
"Hang on, I'll put it on the T.V."
My band mates seemed so excited and in disbelief, but I didn't really care what the media said about me. I've seen a mix of hate and admiration by fans, other celebrities, and people from all over the world.
"Nancy! Please listen!!!"
"I dunno Jooe, I'm tired of hearing fake news and all that negativity," I answered while playing slots on my phone.
"Look at the freaking screen!"
"Really? You too Daisy? I thought you hated the news as much as I do." I said while still gluing my eyes to my phone.
"Are you for real bro? Come onnnnn."
"Jane, you know what? I think I might even go on a social media cleanse. I'm so tired of all the-"
Suddenly, I felt a hand on my chin and I immediately see Hyebin's face.
"Just look at the T.V. Nancy," she says Cooly.
I gulped and said, "Okay, okay, chill..."
It was then that I saw the face of Lee Dabin on the flat screen. Her short hair and charming smile overwhelmed me and the little beauty mark under her left eye always made my heart feel ways.
I was such a huge fan of the famous k-drama actress - her visuals, personality, and overall cuteness won me over the first time I laid my eyes on her through a computer screen.
The video my band mates were showing me was posted an hour ago and it was the typical paparazzi shit - cameras were everywhere and people were shouting her name.
Although some idols would be overwhelmed with this treatment, Dabin never failed in fan service.
She was accepting gifts, giggling at crazy fan boys/girls, and waving to cameras all over the place.
Then, she flashes a view of her phone's wallpaper.
I couldn't really see it, but my band mates were going crazy.
"What is it? I don't get it," I told them.
"GIRL, ARE YOU BLIND?" Daisy yelled.
"Ummm, kind of..."
Ahin took the remote and scrolled back to when Dabin flashes her lock screen and pauses the frame.
"DO YOU SEE IT NOW?" Taeha forcefully asks.
I honestly couldn't see properly, so I stood up from the couch and walked towards the T.V.
Whatever was on her lock screen looked like a really good picture, but it was still hard to see. I could tell it was a girl though.
"Guys, who is it?" I asked.
Everyone groaned loudly.
"Girl, you're really blind if you can't see that it's YOU," Jooe exclaimed.
"What? That's not possible," I said in disbelief, "I've never seen that picture before."
It looked like I literally radiated and glowed - it was when my hair was still long, wavy, and a light chocolate brown. I wasn't doing anything special - just fixing my hair and probably looking at food.
Soon after, Taeha pulled up a picture on her phone and even compared it to the T.V. screen that was right in front of me.
"I don't remember this picture either - but I gotta say, Dabin has good taste when it comes to lock screens," Taeha whistles.
Ahin resumes the video and for most of the shot, Dabin is flashing finger hearts at her phone and showing it off.
Showing ME off.
"Woah, woah, guys, I just found something," Daisy said while gesturing us over. "This literally came out cuz Dabin is on a variety show right now, but she said you," pointing at me, "are such a pretty idol that she hopes to meet one day. She says you're CUTE!!" Daisy practically screamed that last part.
Everyone in the room was squealing because they all loved Dabin and knew I had a low key crush on her.
But I couldn't believe it.
A goddess like her has me - of all people, ME - as her lock screen.
My smile, that I didn't even know I had, grew wide to the point where my cheeks got sore and Jooe and Jane were bro hugging me from each side.
"What are you gonna do about this?" Nayun asks.
"What do you mean?" I said in confusion.
"I think you should get back at the media and flash your lock screen, if you know what I mean," Daisy said with a wink.
Jooe snatches my phone and starts laughing. She then begins to show everyone the wallpaper and I couldn't help but feel flustered.
"Awwwhhh Nancyyy, you are so cute," my members cooed.
The funny thing is, I already had Dabin as my wallpaper. The photo was when she still had long hair tied in a messy ponytail during a DAZED photo shoot.
I hastily snatched my phone, but confidently said, "You know what? Maybe I will."
The whole room cheered.
"Alright then, get ready for photo op."

When we got out, my silky black hair danced behind me and I honestly felt powerful and confident.
The media can't say anything bad about me right now - I feel and look my best.

As people flashed us with an overwhelming sea of cameras, I finally lifted my phone that was in my hand and turned on the screen to show people the wallpaper.
I smiled at the cameras and mimicked Dabin's heart gestures to my own phone.
I even mouthed the phrase, "I love you, Dabin!"
Now this is what you call fan service.
My other band mates were trying to promote the fact that Dabin was my wallpaper and once people realized what was happening, there were so many squeals and questions that were being fired at me.
When someone finally asked, "WHY IS SHE YOUR LOCK SCREEN?"
I simply replied, "Because she's beautiful. I hope I can meet her one day!"
And until we reached our van to go back home, all I did was flash my phone to every camera I saw.

A few hours later, Yeonwoo finally finished shooting her segments for the day and rested in her car.
Catching up with fans and social news, she comes across the article "Nancy Jewel McDonie has a New Wallpaper!"
Since Yeonwoo had a tiny crush for this idol, she couldn't help but check it out.
And she couldn't believe her eyes.
It was her!!!
Yeonwoo did her best to find videos and pictures of Nancy flashing her phone to cameras and each time she saw her face on her screen, she'd faint for a split second. She found this one clip of her saying, "Because she's beautiful. I hope I can meet her one day!"
At this point, Yeonwoo squealed with happiness,
She was honestly gonna faint.
