I slowly walked towards Chris at the couch and sat beside him.
"Hi." He turned off the t.v that made me more nervous.
"Hey. Uh. So..."
"So?" He raised a brow at me
"Uhm. About what you said-"
My phone started to ring. Somebody was calling me. Perfect timing huh?
"Give me a sec." I answered the caller "Hello?"
"Hi Lily!" As soon as I heard that name, I already knew it was Aunt Val who was calling me. She kept calling me Lily since I was in first grade. Though it pisses me off, I let her use that to call me. She said it was kinda cute.
"Hi Aunt Val." I said on a low voice
"How's my sweetest neice?" She asked in a cute voice
"I'm okay. How about you?"
"I'm okay too. But.."
"But?" I sighed
"I'll be better if you could do a favor?"
"Depends on the favor."
"Babysit Sky? It's okay if you don't want to." Even if she said that it's okay if I don't want to, I know deep inside her, she's expecting a yes.
"Sure. When?"
"Right this moment. Please? I really have to go to work and I can't carry him along with me and Steven's in the hospital doing work and your mom said she's out and-"
Before she could say another word, I stopped her "I'm at a friend's house so I'll be at our house in maybe 10."
"Thank you! You're the best!" She exclaimed. I hung up after that.
"Uhm. I have to go. Bye." I said as I picked up my things and went out for the door
"Wait."
I stopped and looked at Chris.
"Where are you going?"
"To babysit." I said and rushed out before he could say anything else.
I arrived at our house at exactly 12 minutes. Aunt Val was standing infront of our house.
"Hey." I spoke up
"Hi dear. I have to go so I'll leave the rest to you. Take care now." She gently kissed my cheek and smiled warm at me so I did the same.
I went inside with a baby and layed him softly on the bed.
Five minutes later, I heard someone knocking at the door.
My eyes turned to the door..I was a bit scared and nervous..
I gently layed at the bed
I reached for a broom and slowly went to the door
"Who-Who's there?" I stuttered
"Hi Ash,It's me,Chris" My heart calmed a bit because it was not a burglar or a murderer
"Uhm,she's not here" I said
"Yeah? Then why am I talking to her right now?" He asked
I released the broom from my hand and opened the door
"What do you want?" I asked him
"Woah,that's now how to treat a guest properly" He said
"Why is that you came here?" I said, ignoring his comment
"Uhm,I'm here to visit you,may I come in?"
"Nope." I shook my head
He smiled at me. I smiled back.
"What do you want? A kiss? Hug?" His smile turned to a evil smirk
"Keep dreaming." I said
He looked me straight in the eye and I can see that he's pleading. I didn't have a choice so I let him in.
The moment he stepped in, he laughed.
"It's a mess, I know, You don't have to laugh." I rolled my eys at him
"No,No,No,It's...just that..." He still kept laughing
"What?" I asked with an annoyed tone
"It's just that,your best option to defend yourself is a broom?" and then laughed again
"N-No.. I was sweeping the floor" I denied
"Really? then why is the floor still not clean? You even told me it's a mess." He raised an eyebrow
I looked at the floor and he was right it was a total mess
"I-I was about to start but you knocked." I denied again
"Whatever, A broom is not a weapon to attack a person." He picked up the broom and placed it aside
"It's the nearest thing I could get. What do you want? For me to be picky?"
"WAAAAHHHH!!!" Damn! I forgot about Sky
I rushed to Sky and saw him crying cutely
"What was that?" Chris asked curiously as he went towards where I was
"It's just Sky" I said as I carried Sky
"You have a baby?!" He said
"I told you I was gonna babysit." I said as I gently carried Sky
"Whose baby is that?" He asked
"My aunt Val" I said
"Here,hold him,I'll just get his diapers" I said and gave Sky to Chris
"What am I supposed to do?" Chris asked while holding Sky
"Lay him at the bed" I pointed at the bed.
Chris did what I told him.
"Now,remove his diaper" I commanded
Chris didn't say a thing,instead,he slowly removed the diaper of Sky
Right after he removed it, liquid substance started to spurt out straight on Chris's face. I bursted out in laughter while Chris just sat there not knowing what to do.
I went towards them and I cleaned Sky's butt and changed his diaper
"You should clean your face Chris" I said
"Where's the restroom?" I pointed it and he immediately rushed to it
"Taking care of a baby is harder than I thought." He said while wiping his face witha towel
"Yeah. I know." I gave Sky his milk.
"You look like a mother." He said
"I do not. Do I look old to you?" I asked
"No. What I meant was, you're very good at taking care of kids. Not only kids but other people too. You're perfect to be my wife."
I stopped what I was doing and became nervous. I remembered what he said to me.
"I won't be your wife." That's all that came out from my mouth
"Why not? You'll do great when we already have kids."
"Excuse me. I won't be your child's mother." I shook my head
"We can make one today." I looked at him in shock and hell he was biting his lip. But then he laughed afterwards. "I'm kidding. I won't do anything that would make the person I love mad at me." Then he winked
The person I love.. The person I love.. The person I love.. Jesus Christ. He said it again. He said he loves me. But in a different way.
