I woke up in the morning, in a bed, which was a shock to me, since I didn't even remember falling asleep in the first place.
"Good morning, Pyotr. Your mother and the rest of the Avengers are awake, fixing breakfast." I heard someone say, causing me to jump some, before I remembered I was safe. I got a message out to the Avengers. To mom.
"Morning, JARVIS. Who put me to bed?" I asked.
"Your mother did. You fell asleep during the credits to Lilo and Stitch." JARVIS said and I nodded before slipping out of bed, to a bit warmer floor.
"I took the liberty of heating the floor a few degrees."
"Thank you, JARVIS." I said before I yawned.
"How do I get to mom and the others anyway?" I asked.
"Follow the path, and I handle the rest." JARVIS said, so I followed the light line out of my room, and to the elevator. After a few minutes, the elevator stopped and opened, to the room from yesterday, so I followed my nose to the kitchen where I found everyone else. Thor was sitting down at the table, while Steve was cooking. Clint was leaning against the counter, drinking out of the coffee pot, with Dr. Banner shaking his head at him, while he from the smell of it, fixed himself a cup of tea, while mom was helping Steve, when Thor smiled at me.
"Good morning, Young Pyotr. Did you sleep well?" He asked making everyone turn and smiled at me, while mom stopped helping to hug me. I leaned into her touch, and nodded.
"I don't even remember falling asleep, though." I said and Steve nodded.
"Ya, that's what happens when your body registers it's safe with your parent. Happened to me all the time, when I was younger." Steve said and I hummed in response, before I sat down next to Thor, after mom kissed my head.
"Is there anything, you like to do?" Dr. Banner asked me as he passed me a glass of orange juice, that mom had poured.
"I like science, when I'm not being the experiment." I said and that made a flash of anger cross mom's face before it was gone just as fast.
"Mom and I, used to dance and read together a lot before I was taken from her. I was still allowed to read books that didn't always involve science, or other languages, but it was very rare, and I wasn't allowed to dance. It was always training, mission, lessons, resistance, attempts of brainwashing, acting like I was under their control, more training, mission and lessons, followed by escape attempts to leak information, more attempts of brainwashing after wiping my mind. Found out, no matter how spicy the food was, I could eat it without a problem." I said.
"Ya, we'll be changing that." Clint and Mom said at the same time, which caused the two of them to glare at each other, which made me and the others laugh, which caused everyone to smile. Soon, mom handed me a plate, that held food.
"Pancakes, with butter and syrup with a side of scrambled eggs, and a fresh fruit bowl."
"Smells good." I said before I started to eat, keeping in mind to eat slower. I was still eating when I heard someone coming, with something swooshing.
"Someone's here." I said making everyone react, before someone wearing an eyepatch, and a trench coat rounded the corner.
"What in the hell do you all think you are doing pointing your weapons at me?" He asked.
"You're Director Nick Fury." I said as I looked at him, while everyone else went back to eating.
"I am. And you are?"
"He's my son, Nick. Pyotr, meet Nick Fury. Nick, meet my son." Mom said and he blinked his one eye in shock before he leaned in slightly closer, analyzing me, so I analyzed him right back.
"You're hiding claw marks on your eye, Sir." I said and he backed off.
"You're Natasha's son, alright. How old are you?"
"I'm almost thirteen, Sir." and he nodded, like he already figured out the timeline.
"I'm here to talk about what you told the others, before passing out."
"Are you doubting my information because of where I was, my age, or is it something else?" I asked.
"I'm not doubting your information, because I already figured out HYDRA was growing from the inside, I just didn't know how many. Now, I do."
"HYDRA refused to take action, while Peggy Carter was still in control, Sir. Out of everything I pieced together, a few things. One, they refused to take action while Peggy Carter was in charge, of SHIELD, because they are terrified of her." I said.
"Rightfully so." Steve said into his cup.
"They wanted to use me to destroy my mom."
"They did that, when they took you from me. Still won't save them from my wrath, now that I have you back." Mom said as she pulled me closer to her.
"They are going to mass kill millions they consider a threat. The Avengers are on the top of that list, some High School Valedictorian is as well. Doctor Strange. Probably myself, for all the trouble I caused them." I said then realized something.
"You just realized something, what'd you realize?" Mom asked me.
"Doctor Strange is on that list."
"Yes, what about it?" Clint said.
"Doctor Strange is a world-famous neurosurgeon. If he's on that list."
"He might be able to figure out how to undo their mind-control, brainwashing, and help those regain their memories, leaving HYDRA without their Assets." Mom continued already catching on to what I was saying.
"Meaning, we can get dad back."
"Who is your dad anyway?" Steve asked and I shared a look with mom who shrugged.
"It's going to come out anyway, so might as well tell them now." She said.
"My full name is, Pyotr Benjamin Romanoff Barnes." I said and I looked directly at Steve.
"My father is-"
"Bucky. How? He fell off the train we were on during the war." Steve said.
"HYDRA found him. Gave him a metal arm, kept him on ice, much like you. Took them, twenty years to break him, and get him under their control. He managed to break out of their control every now and then, and when I was gearing up for my graduation ceremony from the Red Room, he break freak. When they went to do the ceremony, that's when I and they found out I was pregnant. So they took James away from me, and then tried to do the same with Pyotr, before he even had a chance to live. I snatched the knife the doctor hide, and used it against him. Threatened to kill him and the Mistress of the 'school' if they killed my child before they were born, I'd burn the place to the ground, with everyone including myself inside it." Mom said as she ran her fingers through my hair, making me relax into her side.
"Well, it worked since he's here." Clint said.
"After they took it from me, when he was barely even three. He was three, and he was forced to fight or die. He remembers everything from his time there." Mom said darkly.
"He was WHAT?" Fury asked coldly, and I flinched away from him, out of fear. Fury quickly cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry. I heard enough about that." Fury said and then I remembered something about dad, that made me pale.
"Whoa, you just got really pale. Are you alright?" Steve asked and I swallowed heavily.
"JARVIS."
"What can I help you with, Young Pyotr?" He asked.
"Can you call Mr. Stark in here, please." I got out.
"Of course. He'll be up momentarily." JARVIS said and I pushed my empty plate away.
"Pyotr, sweetie what's wrong?" Mom asked and I heard the elevator, before footsteps.
"JARVIS, said you wanted to talk, Kid. Oh, hey Nick. So nice of you to randomly show up in my tower." Tony said as he walked in.
"Pyotr, is telling us some more about his stay with HYDRA." Clint said and I looked up at Tony.
"Kid, your pale."
"You're going to want to sit down for this." I said and he gave me a funny look but took a seat anyway.
"Do you know my full name?" I asked.
"No, I haven't gotten to your file yet. I found it, and handed it over to your mom." He said.
"Well, my full name is Pyotr Benjamin Romanoff Barnes." I said and he raised an eyebrow.
"Wait, Barnes? Like Capsicle's best friend Barnes?" He asked and I nodded.
"He's not dead. He survived the fall off the train, but barely. HYDRA found him, gave dad a metal arm, and he lashed out to try and escape."
"Understandably. Also, can see the fighting spirit is inherited from both your parents." Tony said.
"It took HYDRA twenty years to break dad, to even control him."
"Point proven."
"Sometimes dad was able to break out, of their control, but it wasn't enough. He was always wiped, and they'd start over again."
"Wiped?"
"It's a painful process." I said.
"I'll deal with that later. Where's this going, Kid?"
"December 16, 1991." I said and Tony stiffened.
"Kid, where's this going?"
"HYDRA sent my dad to kill your parents, because Howard had another form of the Super Soldier Serum. He was told to leave no witnesses." I said and Tony shook some, while a few tears slipped out of my eyes.
"The thing is. When a HYDRA asset breaks free of their control, they up the level of pain the machine allows to wipe your mind. They also up the time limit. That way it's harder to break free of." I said and Tony sighed loudly, and it looked like he aged a couple years.
"God, I want to be pissed as hell that your dad, killed my mom, but I can't bring myself to. Not when I have living proof of someone that HYDRA tried to control, and has seen it with his own eyes, and felt the pain that came from it." Tony said and he sighed once more.
"Alright. How do we take down all of HYDRA, and help Capsicle 2.0?" Tony asked.
"There's this Doctor." I said as I dried my eyes, while mom wrapped her arm around me, drawing calming shapes on my arm.
"Doctor Strange." i said.
"The neurosurgeon?" Tony asked and I nodded.
"Ya, met him once. Real asshole."
"That's rich coming from you." Mom said and I let out a soft laugh at that.
"Fair point. What about him?"
"I'm thinking that maybe he can help dad, and the others that were brainwashed. Get rid of the trigger words." I said and everyone nodded.
"If this Doctor Strange fellow, fails. I believe Asgard could help." Thor said.
"Ya, we'll make that plan B." Mom said and Thor nodded.
"What's plan A?" Dr. Banner asked.
"Pyotr." Mom said.
"Me?" I asked with the others asking the same thing.
"You already have Nick, wrapped around your finger, anyone who can do that, can get the answers we need." Mom said.
"I don't see how I got Fury wrapped around my finger." I said and Tony snorted.
"I can. Wait, doesn't that mean, Capsicle is the Kid's Uncle? Godfather?" Tony asked.
"I never thought about that, at all to be honest. I was more focused on my missions and finding Pyotr in the first place. If I found an unbrainwashed James on the way, was a bonus." Mom said.
"I claim the title of the fun Uncle." Clint said and I laughed with everyone else at that, while Fury looked a little bit amused.
"You can continue who is what to Pyotr, later. We need to focus on dealing with HYDRA."
"The flash drive!" I said.
"It's in my lab." Tony said.
"Have you gone through it?"
"I'm still going through it." Tony said.
"That's everything I managed to steal. Some of it I've already leaked out, as you all know, from all my escape attempts." i said and they all nodded.
"There's this person, that's call the Clairvoyant." I said.
"Someone who sees the future? I'll call bullshit." Clint said and I pointed at him.
"That's exactly it." I said.
"Wait it is bullshit?" he asked and I nodded which made him let out a cheer.
"He can't see the future. He just has access to high level SHIELD information." I said.
"Meaning he's a SHIELD Agent. A high ranked one." Mom said and I nodded.
"Do you know his name? Seen him?" Fury asked.
"Both. His name is John Garrett." I said and Fury had a flash of anger go across his face before he let out a slow breath.
"Tell you what, Pyotr. You write everything down, and have Stark set you up with a face mask and a voice changer. You come with Romanoff, and hand deliver your file to me yourself, and I'll see to it that you take a few swings to Pierce himself." Fury said and I tilted my head to the side.
"Are you just saying that to say it, or is that a promise? Because, if your just saying that to say it, to get my hopes up, I'm taking the other eye." I said and mom slapped the back of my head.
"Ow!" I said as I held my head as i looked at her, and she raised an eyebrow, challenging me, and I looked away.
"I'm not apologizing." I muttered.
"I'm making that a promise." Fury said and I nodded.
"I'll be in touch with what's going on inside of SHIELD, stay safe." Fury said and then he looked at me.
"Glad to have you out and with your mom, Pyotr." Fury said and I nodded before he walked away, where I heard him mutter that I truly was mom's son, since I threatened his eye.
"I can hear you!" I yelled.
"Shut up and get to work!" Fury yelled back making mom smirk, while Clint laughed.
"I think that went well." Thor said and I looked at Tony.
"Are you going to be okay?" I asked.
"I never cared for my dad. Always told me, I'd never compare to Capsicle over there, always drunk. Abuse was a factor. I loved my mother, though. It's why I bought the company that made their car, to fix the break problem. I do want to hate your father, but I can't, since it would be hypocritical of me, to think that when your right here. A survivor of every attempt of HYDRA trying to brainwash you, being their damn lab rat and more. It's going to hurt a while, knowing the truth, but I do have to thank you for telling me. Give me a few more days to adjust to the truth." He said and I nodded before he left.
"Did I do the right thing, by telling him?" I asked.
"Yes, you did." Steve said.
"Sometimes the truth is just the hardest thing to accept." Thor said.
"It's why it's always the most painful to hear." Mom said.
"But in the end, it makes you stronger." Dr. Banner said.
"I think that's enough doom and gloom. Still got to go shopping for some clothes and for your room, Pyotr." Clint said.
"I agree. Let's go get cleaned up and then go shopping." Mom said and I nodded.
"Am I allowed to paint my room?" I asked.
"Of course. Any color you want." Mom said and I smiled at that. I went to my room, and took another shower, before pulling on the other set of clothes, and the shoes, mom left me, then looked for a brush or a comb for my hair but didn't see one, so I walked out of my room, and knocked on mom's door.
"Just a moment!" Mom yelled and heard her start walking to the door, before she opened it.
"What can I do for you, sweetie?" mom asked with a smile.
"I don't have a brush or a comb in my room." I said.
"I knew I forgot something. Come on. I'll brush it for you." She said and I nodded before I entered her room to see that it was pretty bare of life, minus a few photos of her and the team, a table that was littered with maps, a few more weapons, I could see that were hidden away but still easy access to, but there were two that stuck out to me. One was of dad, from before everything with HYDRA. And one of me smiling, with what looked to be cake around my mouth. I carefully picked it up to look at it.
"They tried to get rid of everything that proved you existed. Tried to make it that you were only an illusion in my head, from enemy hypnosis, but I hid that photo of you from them, and kept thinking about you. Besides, there's one thing they can't get rid of. You never truly get rid of pregnancy stretch marks, or a mother's love for their child, no matter how much they tried." Mom said as she looked over my shoulder.
"Clint mentioned a backup of birthday presents and Christmas gifts, when he was slowing my bleeding." I said and she smiled.
"He wasn't wrong. We'll give you those later, though as I put them in storage, for safekeeping." Mom said and I nodded before I put the picture down, and sat down, where she started to brush my hair.
"Hey mom."
"Yes, sweetie?"
"Any chance, I can go to an actual school with people my age?" I asked and she stopped brushing my hair for a moment.
"I don't see why you shouldn't, but let's wait until everything is a bit more calm, as precaution. Until then, are you okay with being homeschooled?" She asked.
"I don't mind." I said.
"Alright. We'll take a look at the schools around here to determine which one will be good for you. You'll just have to be careful to not show off your powers." mom said.
"Okay." I said and then thought of something.
"How mad do you think dad will be, when he reads Steve's file of all the stupid things he's done over the years?" I asked and that made mom laugh.
"A calm rage, that will make the fossil run in fear." Mom said and I laughed as well.
