After a long day of sleep, Netflix, and eating, it was finally time for me to get ready for my night shift at the Superstore - which was an hours drive from my apartment.
Being one of the security guards in the store wasn't eventful at all. Sure, I've kicked a few kids out and banned this one guy from coming back, but that was honestly the most action I've gotten within...
What, 2 years now?
Despite the fact, I enjoy my placement at the Superstore because of all the friends I've made that work in the store and as my fellow bodyguards.
But to be really honest, I wasn't really feeling it today - none of my friends are working with me tonight.
PLUS, I was also told last minute another guard was going to transfer to the area to replace Hyebin - who is now being promoted as head in our district.
That, unfortunately, leaves me with the new guy to orient them and to pretty much babysit for the first shift.
It was only 5 in the afternoon and my shift started at 7:30pm.
"Hmmm, that gives me an hour to get ready," I couldn't help but say to my cat, Leo.
As I brush back her hair, her soft purrs make me giggle. She was extremely fluffy with bright, blue eyes that never fail to get me babying her.
But as adorable as she was, I had to get ready. And so, I filled her bowl with some milk and got my shower running.

Holy shit, I hate traffic...
Luckily, I left a little early and got into my parking spot just in time for my switch.
I was relieving Jane from her shift...
That lucky bastard...
When I stepped through the doors of the store, it was pretty quiet. The occasional call for a backup cash and that kind of stuff, but I didn't see many customers.
Being that I arrived just on time, I actually didn't have my uniform on and I was literally hauling it around in my arms.
The change room, staff room, and camera room were just at the back of the store, but since it was a SUPERSTORE, I was practically running through aisles.
Passing the ice cream and frozen goods aisle, baby clothes, electronics, and mattresses.
Just one more corner and I'll be-
But before I could go into the security hall, I just had to painfully body check someone - and the next thing I know, I'm on top of this girl...

Milky, flawless skin,
A perfect, yet cute nose,
A beauty mark resting over her upper lip and on her chin.
Wow she's-
"Owww," she groans quietly.
"OH MY GOD," I exclaim instantly, "I'm sooooo sorry, are you alright?"
I quickly snap out of my senses and jump to my feet. Then, I extended my hand to help her out - momentarily feeling flustered as her hand was SOOO much more softer than I have ever expected.
"Yeah yeah, I'm alright," she says in a daze.
Since she was quickly getting back to her senses, I couldn't help but be a little selfish since I had to clock in for work. So I said to her, "Listen miss, I am extremely sorry, but I have to leave for work. I hope you're alright!" And I bolted into the security hallway and straight into the change room.
Even though Jane was my friend, she despised people who are constantly late sooo much (A.K.A, me), so when it came to her, I always try to get to work on time.
I strip myself of my day to day clothes and slip on my navy blue uniform. Hoisting my security vest in one arm while zipping up my pants, I guess I didn't notice someone else come in because I was welcomed to a girl's

Right, gotta clock in.
Without acknowledging the girl, I ran out, up the stairs, and practically rammed the door leading to the room that pretty much overlooked the entire superstore. Of course, the glass was actually one way so that none of the customers could see us guards.
Wait, a sec...
Was the girl in the change room the replacement?
"Hey! What's up?" I said out of breath to the figure sitting on a huge, gamer swivel chair.
(You May be asking, why is there a gamer chair?
Well, what do you think we do for all those hours in the night shift?)
"Gheezz, why are you sweating so much?" Jane asked in a disgusted tone.
I was surprised she wasn't actually scolding me for being late.
"What do you mean, didn't you see me running from up here?" I asked as I found another swivel chair to sit on.
"Pfft, do you really think I'd be watching a fool like you run?" She replies without taking her eyes off the monitor.
"I hate you."
"And I love you too."
"By the way, when's the new guy coming?"
Once Jane passed the Mario Cart finish line on Rainbow Road, she sits back on her chair, followed by a long exhale and tells me, "they told me they were going to be a few minutes late."
"Mmm, tardy on their first day."
"Shut up Dabin, you're no better."
"At least you love me," I teased.
"Nah, I take whatever I said back."
"You can't take anything back if I remember it," I gestured to my head.
Jane only rolled her eyes, but suddenly, she flashes the dirtiest smirk I have ever seen, "Well then, do you remember that one time we went to the club and this girl threw up on you before you got a chance to makeout-"
Immediately, I covered her mouth, "STOP IT RIGHT NOW, I get ittttttt."
Jane slouches back in satisfaction.
"I can't believe you pulled that card."
"At least you love me," she teases.
I replied with a fake laugh, "Ha ha, how original."
Suddenly, the doors opened and the two of us stood up in surprise.
"Hey, I'm so sorry I'm late," the girl says as she fixes her black security vest and proceeds to tie her hair into a ponytail.
Oh wait.
It's her! The girl I fell on!
"No worries! My name's Jane, and this is Yeonwoo - you're gonna be working with her tonight."
Once our eyes met, a light blush washed over her cheeks and she angelically says, "Ah, we meet again."
Jane looks at the both of us questioningly, and so I told her, "I body checked her before coming in."
"Of course you did."
"I said I was sorry."
"It's alright, it didn't hurt much - it was a good tackle though," the girl chuckles.
For some strange reason, her little laugh got my tiny heart racing.
She's adorable.
"Oh! I'm sorry I completely forgot to ask," Jane interrupts, "What's your name?"
The blush deepens just a little more as she says with the cutest smile, "Oh, true! I'm sorry, just call me Nancy!"
Whoops, there goes my heart again.
"Alright, well I'll leave you two to play around. Yeonwoo will show you the ropes and how we run things around here. I hope she treats you well-"
Cue my slap.
"Aish - Yeonwoo, I swear to God..."
"Yeah yeah, get out of here," I said as I pushed Jane towards the door.
Just as Jane passes Nancy, she quickly says, "It was very nice to meet you! I hope we get a chance to work soon!" While shaking her hand.
The whole time, Nancy was softly chuckling and I couldn't help but notice how each genuine smile reaches her eyes until I could hardly tell if they're open.
"It was nice meeting you too Jane!" Nancy calls out, and just after that, Jane leaves us with a goodbye and we kinda retreated towards the one way glass to see her figure weave through the aisles and out the doors.
Through the corner of my eye, I saw her cross her arms and close her eyes.
It was silent for a bit, but I hate when the atmosphere is dead. Soooo, I just said out of the blue, "I really am sorry for hurting you back there."
She then leans on the glass to look at me - arms still crossed - and replies, "It's no biggie, I've dealt with bigger guys."
I couldn't help but raise a brow - bigger guys? The thought of her getting body checked by a guy 10x her size and her flying away made it hard not to smile.
I couldn't help but tease, "Really? I thought I was as big as it gets," and flexed my arms.
The sound of such a delightful giggle instantly sweeps me into a trance and I felt the heat crawl up my neck and lay on my cheeks.
"I'm guessing there's not a lot of action that goes on here then? If you are as big as it gets."
I couldn't help but place a hand over my chest in "pain".
"Ouch," I dramatically say.
But after I said that, she places a hand on my shoulder and playfully pouts, "Awwwh baby." Then goes to lightly pats my cheek, "Come on, show me around big shot."
I couldn't help but smile at her - being that we just met, I'm glad she's not a boring person that just focuses on work.
At least she seems pretty chill.
