Jericho & Tony
"So your powers and that Kitty girl are sorta the same, no?" Tony asked.
"In a way. Kitty has the ability to phase through anything solid, including people. If she touches you, she passes on her abilities and you can also phase. She disturbs the electrical field around her as well but every power has a limit. When Kitty is passing through something, she can't breathe. So if she is traveling underground, she can only do so as long as she can hold her breath. "
"As for myself, my power is also a type of phasing but I can travel between shadows as long as I desire. I can take people with me through my shadow as long as I'm touching them too. But I rely on light too much. Without it, I can't exactly conjure up a shadow to travel between. That is my limit. Without a light, I am absolutely useless and might as well consider myself dead."
The rest of the ride was Tony giving details about his home. She learned that his girlfriend lived with him as well. Jericho was looking forward to meeting the Pepper Potts who could manage to be around Tony Stark for more than an hour.
Because Jericho was already losing her mind with his blabbering.
"Does he ever shut up?" Jericho asked Happy. The driver chuckled and shook his head.
"It's a wonder when he does."
"I've been attacked... By my own shadow and chauffeur. I'm offended," Tony said as he dramatically threw his head back. Jericho felt a tug at her lips before turning her back on the billionaire, looking out the window.
"Have you ever been to Manhattan?" He then asked. Jericho hummed.
"The city life isn't for me. Never will be."
Tony frowned. She didn't exactly answer his question, but he could only assume Jericho at some point in her life had visited the city and hated it.
"What's your turtle's name?" He then asked as he pointed to the reptile sitting comfortably on Jericho's lap.
"Ringo."
"After the Beatles drummer?"
"Exactly."
Tony nodded before leaning back in his seat. He sent a quick text to Pepper informing her that the newest inhabitant of the tower liked the Beatles. Pepper had been pestering him for information on the young girl so she could decorate her room accurately. So far, all Tony knew was that Jericho liked turtles and the Beatles.
"Favorite color?"
Jericho frowned and turned to her mentor.
"Why do you need to know?"
"Just answer the question, Jericho."
"Well, not that its any of your business, but it's white and mellow yellow."
"Isn't that the same thing as regular yellow?"
"No, there is a big difference! Regular yellow is a horrible color compared to the other yellows," Jericho snapped, becoming very defensive of the color yellow. Tony raised his hands in defense but nodded.
"Okay, okay fine... Mellow yellow... Is there a certain reason why?" Tony continued to press on.
"It's the color of my favorite flower."
"And that is...?"
Jericho narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously, but nonetheless, she answered.
"The tree is called a Mesua. It sprouts these little white flowers with a thick light yellow middle. The tree is rare in India, but there used to be one growing in front of my home. My mother used to yell at me for getting to close to the flowers. She said they were dangerous."
"And were they?"
"Who knows. Everyone in my village was superstitious. There was a time where my mother would place a knife and an onion under my bed to drive away bad juju." Tony chuckled and sent another quick text to Pepper.
Tony: she likes the color white and mellow yellow
Pepper: isn't that the same as regular yellow?
Tony: NO THERE'S A BIG DIFFERENCE
Pepper: fine whatever
Pepper: ask her what her favorite food is
Tony: I'm pretty sure it's churros
Pepper: how would you know
Tony: trust me, Pepper, I know
Tony locked his phone again after informing Pepper they were only about ten minutes away from the tower. Jericho's full attention was now on the moving scenery outside the car. She stared out the window with cautious eyes as she watched the rapid movement of the city. Everyone was bustling about, rapidly trying to get to their destinations. She even saw some guy rush past a group of girls, one of the girls nearly tripping from the force.
They finally arrived at the tallest building Jericho had ever seen. The word Stark was plastered on it at the very top and Jericho examined her surroundings with narrowed eyes. Happy grabbed her suitcases and carried them to the entrance. Tony came around to see Jericho still staring at the building.
"What do you think, Kaur?"
"It's intimidating," she simply responded and Tony chuckled before guiding her to the door.
"You get used to it. Now come on, Pepper has a surprise for you."

When Tony said that his girlfriend had a surprise for her, she didn't know what to expect. She found a lovely strawberry blonde woman named Pepper waiting for her with different types of subs and tons of churros. In the midst of her excitement, Pepper dragged Jericho to a room that was deemed hers. It was larger than any room that had ever belonged to her. It was painted her two favorite colors, mellow yellow with white to accompany it nicely. A huge bed was pushed against the wall and a desk was against another. Adorning the desk were ample little trinkets of turtles and a beautiful record player. Next to it was a bookcase filled with different books and records. As Jericho neared it, the first record she found was one of the Beatles.
But her absolute favorite thing was that on top of her dresser was a huge tank filled with different plants and a little wading pool, all for Ringo the turtle.
Jericho turned back to the door to see Tony and Pepper watching her closely.
"I didn't know much about you, but I worked with what Tony told me. I hope you like it," Pepper said and Jericho decided that there and there that Pepper was absolutely the purest person she had ever met.
"It's beautiful. Thank you."
"I even put a knife and onion under your bed, just in case," Tony said and he saw the first genuine smile making its way across her face.
"Thanks, Tony."
The rest of the night was spent hanging out with Tony, Pepper, and Happy. They ate the subs, enjoyed the churros, and Jiji almost cried at how delicious the sweet treats were. She dared say they were even better than the movie theater vendor. She pestered Pepper to give up the name of churro man and when she did, Jericho knew she would become his best customer in the next week.
When it was time for bed, Jericho realized it was time to call Logan. She hadn't called him all day and she knew he would be worried about her. She excused herself and tugged out her phone, only to be stopped by Tony.
"Throw that fossil away, it's a disgrace to have it under the Stark Tower," he said as he scrunched his nose at her old flip phone. Jericho didn't exactly have much money, so to even own a phone was already a privilege. But Tony took it away and replaced it with a more modern phone. Jericho scrunched her nose at it.
"Don't worry, your contacts have already been transferred. If you need anything, ask Friday."
"Who the hell is F.R.I.D.A.Y.?"
"Hello, Miss Jericho."
Jericho yelped as a women's voice suddenly came from out of nowhere. She looked around desperately but nobody was there.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y. is my AI assistant. She is connected to everything in this tower, so do not be afraid to ask her for anything," Tony said and Jericho raised her eyebrows as she glanced around. She was suddenly uncomfortable knowing an AI was watching her every move.
"Get a good rest, Jericho. Tomorrow you'll meet your partner for M.U.D."
"We should really reconsider a new name for the program."
"I'll send the message on to Fury. Good night, Jiji."
Jericho didn't correct him.
"Good night, Tony."
