My arms were still trembling from last night but I managed to make through today. I didn't tell anyone whatever happened, not even Zander. Somehow Zander knew something was wrong but he still tried to brighten up my mood. At least that's what I thought. Grayson was super happy today because there were hopes to at least get an A.
Last night when we went home, all four us studied together. Grayson was deep into the book, like the first time I saw him in the maths class. He seemed pretty into it. Zander got distracted very easily. He would often get up either to go to drink water or either he said it was quite boring. Raven was extremely quiet and seemed quite mad.
Speaking of Raven, she has been weird since the day Grayson and Zander spoke to me. I have never seen Raven behave like this, there is something definitely wrong with her.
Maybe, she knows about something about the guys and maybe she is frustrated.
Shut up! I scold my inner self. That was nothing. They picked the wrong files. Raven and I involved in nothing. We didn't do anything bad so there is no way they could hurt us.
Keep telling yourself that, maybe you'll believe it.
'Hey, sunshine' I snap out of my thought to see Grayson looking at me with his concern filled in his eyes. We were right now in my room, watching a movie on my laptop, but Grayson noticed that I was in my la la land.
'Are you alright?' He asked while his thumb caressed my cheek. I felt and enjoyed the warmth of his skin against mine and I rest my head against his warm hand.
'Hey come here' he whispers and pulls into a bear hug.
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry.
'Everything is alright, I am just tired' I sigh heavily and loud enough for him to hear.
'What are you tired of?' He questions.
'People' I hesitate
'What do you mean?'
'I feel like Raven is drifting away and I can't pull her back' I decided to tell him only the half of the story. He might be worried, he'll get all... Grayson about it.
'Maybe she needs time... I still remember the look on her face when she pulled you away when we were talking the other day. She looked terrified' Grayson says and gently rubs my back which sent me chills and goosebumps all over my body.
'I have given her enough time... I gave her like a whole month' I say starting to get a little mad about it.
'Which reminds me, it has been a month for... you know...' he says and I could feel the nervousness in his voice.
'Yeah, it's been a month since mom went to Boston' I decide to play coy, wanting him to admit it.
'You want to me to say it don't you?' he says and I look up but our arms were still lightly wrapped around each other.
'Say what?' I give the best innocent look I could ever have. It seemed to work because I saw the softness in his eyes.
'Geez you are dumb' he mumbles low but then because I was this close to him, I heard it. 'It's been a month since I have confessed my feelings for you and you still haven't told me anything yet' he asks nervously. I playfully rolled my eyes at his pink face.
'Isn't it obvious?'
'What?' he looked completely confused and he looked deeply into my eyes. Who is dumb now?
'Don't call me dumb of you are dumber than me' I say and continue, 'I like you Grayson and I am falling for you, hard' I say and look down because I didn't want Grayson to see me going all red. Suddenly I feel two fingers rise up my chin and I look up to see Grayson was extremely close to my face. His minty breath was fanning right under my nose and I felt goosebumps rising on my skin and just when we are about to-
I jolt up as soon as possible as I heard my mom downstairs. She comes now? Now?! Couldn't she come like a minute later or something?!
I give an apologetic smile and he scratches the back of his neck and gets off the bed. I heard footsteps coming here and my eyes grew wide.
'No, no, no! She can't know that you were here!' I whisper whereas, on the other hand, he was just standing there clueless. I shove him inside my closet and lock the door. I mean yeah, the closet is too small for a big guy like him, but I had no other option.
'Monica!' mom says and then I could see her peep into my room.
'Hey, mom!! It's so good to see you!' I say and hug her.
'It's good to see you too, sweetie' she says and hugs me back. Dad comes and hugs me as well and the one thing I noticed was that he had a little envelope in his hand.
'What's that?' I ask him.
'It's a letter from your school' NO! What if they saw us? The cameras! Oh my God!! I'll probably be suspended, mom and dad will be so disappointed!!
'R-regarding?' I ask, probably not sure I want to hear it, but curiosity takes over me.
'We'll discuss it later, I am pretty tired from work' dad says and I nod. I could see the tiredness from their eyes.
'Of course, you guys go rest' I say and they both go to their room which was luckily far away from mine. I lock the door and let out a huge sigh.
'I am sorry!' I say and I open the closet door and Grayson comes out.
'Why can't they see me here?' he questions.
'They just... can't' He gives me a 'seriously?' look and I give in.
'See I- I am new at all of this stuff alright. I never had a guy like me back or something. It's was the thing I was very weak at. Mom did not want me to have a love life at this age but dad was like go live your life and everything and it's not just them, I myself never paid that much of attention to the boy stuff, you know?' I saw and I walked towards the window, not wanting to maintain eye contact with him when I said this.
'So you are telling me I am your first?' I couldn't help but notice a little happiness in his voice. I refuse to look at him because I'll know he'll be smirking at my flushed face.
'You are...' I say in a low voice, not even sure that he heard me. But I felt an arm snake around my waist and a chin resting on my shoulder. This simple movement gave me chills. He held my body close to his and I could feel the sparks double up.
'You have no idea how grateful I am right now' he whispers with his lips brushing my ears and I look at him and damn, it was a huge mistake. His green eyes were staring into my plain brown ones and I felt my heart beat faster. I don't know why, but I started leaning in but he pulled away in one swift motion. I was slightly mad at him but I couldn't help but smile at him. I shake my head and turn around to see him smirking.
'You know, you should really increase your height or something, my neck hurts' he says and rubs the back of his neck. I couldn't help but grin at him.
'You know, you need to sacrifice something for the thing you love' I say.
'You want to sacrifice my neck for you?' he says and breaks into laughter and I facepalm myself at him for not understanding what I meant. The only reason I said it was be-
'I get it, chill. But technically if you think...' I shake my head at him and he again laughs. I silently observed him when he was busy laughing, his dimples were shown as he laughed, his eyes were tightly shut as he clutched his stomach. Everything about him was perfect. Soon his laughter died and he looked right into my soul. To make it less awkward, I chuckle and he gives me his drop-dead gorgeous smile. He walks close to me and I straighten up and little, noticing how close he is to me, again.
'Now, does sunshine wants me to stay and get into to trouble or what?'
'Well my parents are sleeping...' I trail off. I honestly didn't want him to leave. But I understood that even he probably wants to go home, so I let him. 'But I think we need to rest' I say whilst stuffing my hand in my pocket.
'We could cuddle' he says suggestively.
Now, he doesn't want to go.
I shake my head because we both needed our own time, I am not sure about him but I needed to discuss something with myself.
'That's sad' he says pouting. Aww, I almost melted at his soft side.
'But then that's the reality' I say and tilt my head to the side. He opens his mouth to say something but then immediately shuts it. His smiles and I felt something on my lips for a millisecond before he jumped off the window. I took the time to realize what just happened and when I look in front I didn't see Grayson. I widen my eyes and look down, no Grayson. What?!
'Sunshine I don't wanna die so quick' I hear his voice and I look up to see him on the branch of the tree right beside my window, I sigh in relief and shake my head and a smile plants on my lips.
'See you later sunshine' Grayson says.
'Later Grayson' I say and give him a tiny little wave. He carefully gets down and I call after him. He looks up and scrunches his face as the sun rays shine upon him. I blow him a kiss and he stumbles back whilst placing his hand on his heart. I chuckle and give him a final wave and he waves back. Soon he went and closed the window. I lean against it and my smile even widens.
I get a quick flashback from whatever happened and I bite my lip from smiling so big. If anyone walked in right now, they'll think I am crazy because I was looking at the floor and grinning from ear to ear. I close my eyes and the only thing which I could see was Grayson. Then I realized something.
I wasn't crushing on him, I was falling for him, hard.
The reason why I said the sacrifice thing was because I wanted him to get a hint. I wanted him to know that,
I love him.
