Trent Alexander-Arnold - Game

It had been two months. Agonising months if you will. The breakup wasn't at all mutual, in fact, it was all one sided. You'd been accused of cheating. Standard. Of course it wasn't true.

A letter came through the post. It wasn't bills, but the Liverpool football logo was in the top corner of the envelope. It was about your assigned seat at Anfield for the Liverpool home games.

Miss Y/N Y/L/N

We haven't seen you at the Anfield Football Stadium in over two months.

It's in our best interest for you to take into consideration whether you would like to keep your designated seat at the Stadium.

If not, we will cancel you subscription to the Anfield Stadium and give another football fanatic the seat.

If so, we would love to see you supporting the Reds at the next game!

Many thanks
Liverpool Football Club Team

A sigh escaped from your mouth. The 66 football jersey was still hung up in the wardrobe along with the matching scarf.

The next Liverpool game was in just a couple of hours. Something about the letter made you feel like you had to go. Even though it wasn't going to be easy seeing Trent.

Alexander-Arnold was now on your back, as you set out to walk to the stadium. It was only ten minutes. The winter air hit you like a tonne of bricks but you wrapped up warm.

It was unexpected when fans actually approached you, practically begging for photos and hugs. Trent had always spoken about you in interviews and on his social media when you were together, therefore his huge following made it's way over to you.

"Enjoy the match." Were the very few words that left your mouth. There was a VIP line for those who paid extra and you were going through.

The ever so familiar security guards greeted you with smiles and sympathy. The whole team knew what went down, the majority obviously taking Trents side.

Your assigned seat was the seat directly behind the sub bench. In your mind, you hoped that Trent was playing so that you could avoid an awkward encounter and once the players had started walking out onto the pitch, you noticed he was indeed playing.

Jordan Henderson on the other hand, was subbed. He didn't recognise you at first but when he did, it didn't go the way you had expected.

"Everyday Y/N, he comes to training, never stops talking bout you." Jordan told you. He obviously wasn't meant to be talking to you, but he did.

"I know you didn't do what you were accused of, and I know deep down he knows too." He reassured you. Then the game kicked off. It was only getting colder as the sky got darker.

Something in Trent buzzed. The atmosphere was different and he didn't know why. As he began running across the pitch he couldn't help but acknowledge the seat you normally sat in.

When he saw someone sitting there who looked exactly like you, he thought he was dreaming. The last Liverpool game you had been to was the day he broke up with you. But when he got a second glance, he knew it was you.

Thousands of emotions ran through him. He didn't want to play different just because you were back and watching.

Half time came around after what felt like endless hours of playing. Trent practically sprinted through the tunnel. Hendo pulled him aside once they were in the changing room.

"She's here." Was all he said to the younger scouser.

"Did she say anything to you?" Trent asked, taking a big sip of water. The adrenaline still running through his body from the game.

"No, I said stuff to her." Jordan crossed his arms over his chest.

"What did you say?" Trent raised an eyebrow.

"That deep down you know she'd never cheat on you. Trent, she's been to every game, every training session, she's been everywhere for you. She gave up her career to look after you when you were injured. That ain't a girl that would cheat on you, that's a girl who loves you." Jordan ranted. The words went straight to Trent's heart.

Trent didn't know what to say but as the team got called back on to the pitch for the second half, he had no time to say anything else.

There he was again. You had always admired the way he played. The effort he put in was always his maximum and more. You had wandered what had been said about you amongst the players at half time, but you'd never find out.

Liverpool won the game. The cheers and claps echoed through the stadium and people began leaving to avoid the massive traffic jam that would soon build up outside Anfield.

"Excuse me, Miss Y/N." Someone approached you. You turned around.

"Mr Trent Alexander-Arnold has requested to see you." It sounded like a comment out of a bad movie. Your breath hitched in your throat.

"C-can you tell him I had to be somewhere." You stuttered, wrapping your coat around you and going. It looked rude on your behalf, but you couldn't talk to him. You rushed to the exit.

It was now raining, and now you had regretted your decision in walking.

"Y/N?" It sent shivers down your spine just to hear his voice again after all that time. You looked left and Trent was there in his car. The window was rolled down and he looked like he was alone.

"There's cars behind you." You told him. He checked his rear mirror and then cars started beeping. You had assumed he'd driven away, but when you turned the corner, he was there.

"What do you want Trent?" You sighed, stopping on the path.

"I haven't seen you at a home game in a long time." Trent sighed.

"It's pissing it down and that's all you wanted to talk about? Trent I have to go home." You began walking away.

"Let me drive you." He insisted.

"It's five minutes away, I can walk." You told him.

"Y/N, let me drive you." He said a bit more seriously. You rolled your eyes knowing he wouldn't leave you alone, so you got in the passenger side. The car was warm from the heating and it was a great feeling.

"How have you been?" He asked.

"Fine." You bluntly replied, wanting the journey to be over with. A groan escaped your mouth when you were now caught in the traffic jam.

"How's your mam?" Trent was just full of questions wasn't he?

"She's in Vegas." You told him.

"It's her friends hen-do." You clarified so it made more sense as to why she was abroad.

"I've got a question." Trent looked you in the eye.

"Because you haven't already asked me a thousand already?" You teased and he chuckled.

"What made you come to the game?" He looked at you with hopeful eyes.

"I wasn't gonna come, I had no intentions of ever returning to that stadium because the last time I was, my boyfriend accused me of cheating and then broke up with me in front of all of his team-mates." You began and Trent slowly grew to feel awful.

"But if you want the truth, I had a letter come through that if I didn't go to this match, they'd get rid of my seat and I don't mind watching a Liverpool game." You admitted.

"I should've never have accused you and for that I'm sorry." He apologised.

"Deep down I knew you wouldn't ever do that. I was an idiot." He admitted.

"I'm glad you think about yourself the way I do." You snickered and he let that comment slide.

"Dead serious though Y/N, if I could take it back, I really would." Trent sounded genuine with every word.

"If this is your way of trying to get me back, you're failing miserably Trent. It's been two months." You sighed, leaning your head against the window and watching the spit of rain tap against it.

"I'll always try and get you back. Now I know how stupid I was." Trent finally pulled in your road.

"Stop beating yourself up over it. It's done. The whole causing a scene thing, is done. It's in the past. But my hurt is always gonna stick with me, getting accused of cheating is the worst. It was shitty but it's over with." You convinced him.

"It was good seeing you tonight Y/N, but I'm not overly impressed with my actions." Trent avoided looking at you.

"You're actions were fucking dumb Trent but once again, it was two months ago. We've been two months clean of each-other." It actually hurt to say that.

"It's been a bad two months. As soon as I said those words, I regretted it. I didn't say anything because I was scared." He rambled.

"I get it. So how about this. We're not jumping into bed straight away but we can at least go and do something we both love doing." You suggested and his face lit up.

"Bowling and Nando's?" He said with a grin.

"You knows. Now, forget about the past and let's do it tomorrow."
