Reflected in her dark brown eyes are mine,
My voice, my laugh, the way I walk all mimic hers,
Only my thoughts are my own
But even those have been her creation.
In her I see myself,
In her I see the woman I ought to be
In her I see my future
In her I see my past
In her I see my present and things that will always last.
I love you, my mother, myself
Not only are you my mother
And a role model, someone I want to be,
But you are my very best friend
Even though sometimes we argue
And say things best left unsaid
I know you mean well
I love you, my mother, myself.
