Logan found himself tapping his pen rapidly against his book, eyes trained on the shut classroom door. He had began to worry during the lesson as his boyfriend, Virgil, hadn't showed up. It was first lesson, so Logan hadn't seen him yet, and after sending a few texts, hasn't received anything in response. He knows he shouldn't be so worried - he could just be ill and doesn't have the energy to pick up his phone, but there were so many other possibilities to why Virgil isn't responding - and they terrify him.
In the end, with only twenty minutes left of the lesson, he asked for permission to use the bathroom and left the class, searching through the hallways for his boyfriend. As stupid as it was. He hoped he was here but possibly caught up with something? He didn't know...he just wanted him to be okay. He had never had a real friend before Virgil, let alone boyfriend, and he just...couldn't handle the thought of losing him.
To his surprise, when he hurried down the staircase onto the floor underground - a floor not used by the general public of the school, he heard the faint sound of crying. Tensing, he slowly eased down the hallway, looking around the corner to see Virgil sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall and just crying. In a flurry, Logan rushed over, kneeling before him and holding onto his hand securely. Virgil flinched but relaxed and grinned at his boyfriend through his tears.
"Virgil? Whatever is the matter?"
Virgil didn't respond, then began to chuckle, watery laughter filling up the space around them. He tried to wipe away the tears but they kept coming. "Honestly?" He began, shrugging and holding both of Logan's hands. "I don't know" he admitted shakily, closing his eyes for a moment, then meeting his gaze. "I don't know. I'm crying. Why am I crying? I'm fine..." he drifted, shaking his head and laughing again.
"What's wrong with me?" Logan's eyes widened in alarm. "Nothing - nothing is wrong with you. Are you sure you have no idea why're you are crying?" Logan pressed, staring at him closely. Virgil thought for awhile, tears still streaming down his cheeks, sniffling and sobbing a few times until he realised why and finally admitted it.
"Because of you"
Logan gulped, panic swimming in his eyes, wracking his brain for anything that he did to make Virgil upset. He noticed and sat up, shaking his head. "Wait, wait, stop" Virgil demanded gently, giving him a pointed look, "it's nothing bad" Virgil reassured, pulling Logan closer by his waist. "I'm just...." he smiled and leaned closer, "happy" he admitted, pressing a shy kiss to his cheek.
Logan froze, a blush coating his cheeks. "Happy?" He repeated, confused. "Then why are you crying?" Virgil chuckled. "I'm happy, Lo" he agreed, "really, really happy. Cus' I'm with you...I didn't think I would have a boyfriend until I left college or something so being with you..." Virgil met his gaze and grinned, his tears coming to a stop. "Makes me happy. Thank you for that..." he drifted awkwardly, then hid his face in Logan's neck as he hugged him.
Logan relaxed in his hold and hugged back, hiding his own face in his shoulder. "I am glad I can make you happy, Virgil. Although, a simple text would have been nice. I worried all morning" he admitted a tad sheepishly. Virgil slowly leaned back, frowning in concern. "Shit, Lo, sorry I didn't...didn't realise" Logan dismissed it with a wave of his hand. "No matter. If you had I might not have found you, and we wouldn't have shared this extremely sentimental moment" Virgil snorted and returned back to Logan's chest, leaning against it comfortably. "Yeah, whatever, nerd...this won't happen often" Logan smiled slightly and combed a hand through his hair.
"But when they do, I will cherish those moments just as much"
Virgil blushed.
"Stop it..." he drifted jokingly.
Logan smiled and kissed the crown of his head.
"Never"
