"Wait, Kate, shouldn't you be at the school practicing?" Noah asks me quickly, breaking the conversation at the table.

"Oh-shit. Yeah-probably." I replied, standing up out of my chair.

"Practice for what?" Hunter and Darren ask in unison.

"She never told you guys?" Lilli asks, standing up with me.

"Told us what?" Dylan questions.

"She's got a dance competition this Friday." Kyle answered for me.

"What? You never said anything..." Dylan trailed off at the end.

I shrugged, then changing the subject-kind of,

"Noah, can I take your car? I'll come back here when I'm finished."

"No, it's okay. We can all go home now." Noah said, standing up.

"Are you sure?" I asked, glancing at Lilli and Kyle as well.

They nodded as Kyle stood up,

"Can we come watch?"

"Uh-no." I said. Noah, Kyle and Lilli all pouted,

"Why not?"

"So it's a surprise for my show." I replied simply.

They nodded, understanding.

"When's your show?" Darren asked as we all started to walk out.

"It starts at ten this Friday. Not sure when it ends, but my solo is-like-last in the competition. There's not many dances, though." I answered, they all nodded.

"We'll be there." Darren assured me.

"No, you really don't have to-," I tried to say, but Hunter cut me off,

"We will be there."

I sighed and smiled,

"I love you guys."

~~~
Friday. Today. It's one in the afternoon and my solo is up soon.
I'm working on my makeup currently. My costume is already on. (Below)
Coach Lindi thought it really complemented my skin tone. And it's absolutely beautiful.
For my hair, I did two Dutch braids ending in ponytails. (Below)
And for my makeup-that I'm still working on-is supposed to be the same colour scheme as my outfit. Which, I think I'm doing pretty well.
"Next up is 'California Dreams'." I heard the announcer call.
Oh man... my solo is up in two more dances.
Breathe...
Yeah... I am...
Okay, okay. Just finish up the eye makeup, then go on to lips.
I finished up my eyes and I am so happy with how they turned out! (Below)
Then lips...
I grabbed my dark, nude shade and put it on carefully. (Below)
It's a beautiful shade.
I heard the audience applauding, so I knew that solo was over.
"Next up, we have 'Too Cold' coming to the stage." The announcer announced.
I let out a big breath, I'm up next.
"Hey!" Coach exclaimed, scaring me a bit.
"Hey." I said, trying to calm myself down.
"You got this, girl. Go up there and show them who's boss. Did you stretch?" She told me.
I nodded,
"Lots."
"Okay, go backstage." She said, pointing to the door.
I nodded and did as I was told.
There was so many dancers backstage. All of them are so beautiful.
They all looked at me as I walked up and stood near the curtain.
But then I backed up slightly, since there was no one near and practiced some pirouettes.
Just a few, though. Because the song ended and the audience clapped for the current soloist as she walked off.
"You were amazing!" I exclaimed as she walked past me.
She smiled and her eyes lit up,
"Thank you! Are you next?"
I nodded,
"Yeah."
She smiled at me,
"Good luck."
"Next up, 'Waves' is coming to the stage." The announcer said.
That's my cue.
I walked on how I had rehearsed, dragging my feet behind me-but prettily.
I saw everyone in the audience, and I kept my sad face on-because of my solo type.
Then I danced my heart out.
(The video at the top is Kaytlyns solo)
~~~

"And the first place winner for this entire competition, with a score of two hundred and eighty five..." The announcer started, looking at all of the dancers sitting on the stage,

"Is 'Waves'."

I stood up with the audience standing and applauding, then I walked towards the announcer holding the trophy.

I went up and shook his hand, then he said into the microphone,

"What school are you representing?"

"Lansing High." I replied into the microphone, smiling.

"And who choreographed your winning dance?" He asked, pointing the microphone back to me.

"Coach Lindi Milton." I replied, glancing at her in the audience.

I took the trophy and went and stood next to the second place winner.

Our picture was taken, then we all were told that we could go backstage and we could go home.

I stood up, glancing at all of my best friends-no-my family, in the audience.

I went into my schools room where Coach Lindi was.

She squealed and brought me into a hug,

"Well done!"

"Thank you, Coach." I replied, hugging back.

"Okay, let's get a picture of you to put up in the school." She said, letting go and grabbing her phone.

I smiled and nodded, setting down the large trophy on my vanity-thing.

"With the trophy, silly!" She exclaimed. I picked it back up, walking over to the nearest wall.

I smiled as I saw her finger tap the screen a few times before saying,

"Done, now get changed so you can go see you family."

I smiled once again and nodded.

She went over to start picking up the makeup that she brought along.

I slipped my costume off, then setting it on the back of the chair with the vanity.

I then put my black leggings-that I was wearing before-on. Then, I slipped Hunters football hoodie on.

After that, I put my grey UGGs on.

"Where's the bag, cover thing that my costume was in?" I asked Coach, not seeing it anywhere.

"Don't worry about that, go see your family. I'll get everything packed up." She assured me.

I shook my head,

"No, let me help."

She sighed,

"You're a good kid, Kate."

Then I helped her pack everything up.

"Bye, Coach!" I called, she waved at me before driving off.

I walked to where Noah told me he parked.

I held my dance/working out bag in my right hand, my left hand swinging by my side as I walked.

In my bag, I kept my water, sweat towel-if needed, running shoes and a sports bra with booty shorts.

Snapping out of my thoughts, I saw everyone standing by Noah and Hunters' cars.

They didn't see me so I kept walking towards them.

Also-in my bag, I have my trophy.

"Kate!" Lilli yelled, bringing me into a hug.

"Hey!" I exclaimed, hugging back.

I had my arms around her the best I could, but my bag was a little heavy.

Darren noticed he took the bag from my hands.

"Thanks." I mumbled as Lilli let go.

"Well done! Holy shit!" Dylan hugged me.

I chuckled,

"Thanks, Dyl!"

We pulled away and I went and hugged Kyle and Noah at the same time.

"Good job, Little Flores." Kyle said to me.

I smiled and thanked him.

"Well done, kid sister." Noah said to me.

I rolled my eyes,

"I'm not a kid, but thanks."

"Group hug!" Kyle yelled.

Everyone piled into the hug.

After a few minutes everyone pulled away.

I went up to Hunter and pulled him into a loving kiss, he looked lonely.

We both then pulled away, and I saw him smile before he gave me a quick peck and then placing a kiss on my forehead.

"You're amazing." He said.

I smiled,

"Love you."

"Love you, too." He replied, holding my hand.

"What about me?" Darren's voice asked.

I chuckled and ran into his arms,

"You said you didn't like hugs."

"I make exceptions." He said to me.

I smiled, that actually just brightened my day.

I pulled away and looked at everyone,

"Thanks for coming."

"Thanks for getting us out of school." Everyone, except for Darren said in unison.

I chuckled.

"Holy shit! Your eyeshadow is amazing!" Lilli screeched.

I laughed,

"Thanks, Lil."

"Your costume was beautiful." Dylan said to me.

I nodded and smiled, as if I was saying 'thanks'.

"Look at your hair! It's so cute!" Lilli exclaimed.

I laughed once again,

"Thanks."

Everyone looked at me in awe.

"What?" I asked, I could feel my face heating up.

Everyone kind of stifled a chuckle, then Noah answered,

"We're so proud of you."

I smiled,

"Me too."

"Okay! Let's go home! There's pizza calling me!" Kyle yelled.

We all burst into fits of laughter.

My family...
