After talking to Crawf, I left him to sleep again so he'll feel better tomorrow. I went downstairs and saw Chris, watching something.
"Hey." I started
"Hi babe, sit with me." He flashed a beautiful smile in front of me so I sat down beside him, making sure that we have space between each other.
"So watcha watching?" I asked
"I dunno." He shrugged
"Oookay." I sighed
"Spill it out. What do you want from me?" He faced me.
"Geez, you sound like dad."
He shrugged again "I'll be a father sometime and I'll say the same."
I just rolled my eyes "I want you to tell your parents to let Crawf stay here and enroll him in a school just around the town."
"Depends if he's changed but not happening. Nope" He said
"Why not?" I asked
"Kidding. I'll do that. Because I like you so much, you're too cute to be resisted." He brought out his cell from his pocket and started to dial his mom.
"Hi mom" He greeted
"Yeah, we're fine."
"He's sleeping. He'll be fine by tomorrow."
"Mom, Crawf's changed according to somebody. He's a good boy now. He wants to enroll at a school around this town.
"She wants to talk you." He handed me his phone
"Uh.. Hello?" I suddenly became nervous
"Hi, who's this?"
"Oh, Ashley Paige. Uhm, I used to work for your son?" I gulped
"Oh hey Ashley. So what's this thing about Crawf?"
"Well, he's actually behaving himself well in front of people. I think maybe, you know, you wouldn't send him away?" My heart beat's getting faster
"I'm gonna trust you, okay? And I think he needs a break from his old school so he'll stay."
"Really? Thank you! I owe you one Mrs. Collins" I smiled even though she can't see my face
"You're welcome darling." After that, I handed his phone back
"Bye mom, loveyah, take care. Say hi to dad for me." Then he hung up
"Happy now?" He asked
"Absolutely." I smiled
"No thank you to me?"
"Why would I thank you? I'm the one who did all the talking." I rolled my eyes at him
"But I called her. If not for me, you won't be able to talk to her."
"Thank you." I said in defeat
"Where's the kiss?" He pointed his right cheek. I just slapped him softly and giggled
"Come here." He grabbed my waist and he suddenly kissed the tip of my nose.
My eyes moved to his lips. He bit it. Jesus, can I bite it? Okay. Erase, erase. I can be tempted you know?
"Controll it." He whispered seductively to my ear.
"What? You're crazy! And let me go."
"I'm crazy for you." He winked at me.
"Crawf!"
"Crawf? Crawf told me everything."
My eyes widened because of what he said "W-What? Told you what?"
"You two are pretending." His grip tightened
"What pretending?" I laughed nervously
"Deny it more Ashley." He smirked
"Deny what?" I averted my gaze to the floor
"The plan. The jealous things. Everything."
He held my chin and faced it to me then he moved his face close to me. Closing the gap between us.
I was breathing heavily and my heart was pumping hard. My blood was rushing through my veins. I'm sweating too. I also noticed that I'm blushing.
His thumb moved to my lower lip then he whispered something to me before letting me go. I froze at that moment because I think I'm hearing weird things. He gave me a quick peck at my cheek, that made me face reality. I took that chance to go to Crawf's room and tell him what happened.
"Crawf!"
He groaned "Yeah?"
"You told him?"
"Told who what?" He asked innocently
"Told Chris about us."
"Ohhh.. Sorry?"
"It's okay. I'm sorry too for barging in like that. It's just that I'm shocked about what happened awhile ago." I sat beside his bed.
"Tell me." He sat down from where he lays
"I'm gonna tell you a good news first."
"Mm-kay."
"You'll stay here." I said excitedly
"What do you mean by that?" I can see from his face that he's intrigued
"You won't be sent away. You'll stay here! " I exclaimed happily
"Really? You're not joking are you?" He raised his brow at me
"No, I'm not. I personally talked to your mom."
"How?"
"Chris. I asked a favor and he agreed to talk to your mom."
"Then?"
"Your mom asked your brother to talk to me and we talked."
"What? Just like that?"
"Yeah." I nodded
"Seems like I'll be staying here with you longer now." A smirk grew on his face
"I know." I smiled
"So tell me 'bout the thing between you and Chris."
"At first, when he told me that you told him about the pretend thingy, I didn't bought it. I thought he was just joking about that but I don't know." Memories from awhile ago started flashing back.
"Hey. You're red." My head faced Crawf who was grinning at me.
I touched my cheeks and hell was it hot.
"Here let me get that for you." He wiped a sweat from my forehead
"Thank you?"
"You're welcome?" He chuckled
There was a moment of silence between us before he broke it "Okay. What did he told you that's making you look like that?"
I paused. I spaced out. I keep hearing his voice.
"I love you Ashley." "I love you." "I love you."
"Hey." Crawf snapped his finger
"Sorry. I think I was just hearing things."
"What did you think that you just heard?"
"That he loves me?" I was unsure of my answer
"Maybe it's true." He smiled at me
"Impossible." I muttered
"Possible. Don't you know I love you too?"
"What?"
"As a friend of course."
"Aw I love you too as a friend." I smiled at him
"Good. Now go and confront him about what he said." He shooed me away
"O-okay?" I walked downstairs to look for him.
He was there. He was sitting in the couch. My heart was throbbing hard.
Am I gonna tell him I love him too? Or I'll just let it slip away? He's a playboy after all.
