Hiccup and the gang were all sitting by the fire in the Clubhouse and suddenly a flash of light appeared. Everyone jumped and raced for their weapons as a ring of spinning fire appeared. The air warped and a woman stepped out. She shook her head as the fire ring closed behind her.
"Ah! She just walked through fire!" Tuffnut cried. "That's been my dream! Teach me oh holy one!" Tuffnut knelt down and grabbed her boots with Ruffnut right alongside him.
"I didn't walk through fire really," the new person said. "Someone help me?"
Snotlout and Fishlegs dragged crying twins off of her and she thanked them with a smile. "Hi!"
"Who are you?" Hiccup asked, looking closer at the young woman's appearance.
She wore a purple tunic with a black laced leather vest, a Deadly Nadder patch over her heart. She had a furlined wrapped skirt and black leggings with warm furry boots. A few sharp throwing spears were attached to her belt. A shield was attached to her back and she carried a axe. Her black hair was pulled into a side braid and her bangs stopped just above her eyebrows. She looked like any other viking; however, her dark skin and almond shaped dark brown eyes were a stark contrast to the vikings on Berk.
"I'm PassionWriterHJH, but you can just call me Tanya," she said.
Everyone lowered their weapons, but did not change their apprehensive looks. Hiccup looked at Astrid, who kept a guarded look towards Tanya. Tanya watched as Tuffnut had eager eyes, as he still believed that she had walked through fire.
"Hey, I'm not an enemy or anything," Tanya said, raising her hands in the air. "I'm here to give you a glimpse into your future. Actually, two."
"Future?" Astrid asked.
"Glimpse?" Hiccup asked.
"Two?" Fishlegs squealed.
Tanya pulled a bag from her belt and tossed it in the air, catching it a few times. Tanya whistled and A Deadly Nadder suddenly flew into the Clubhouse. She landed next to Tanya and rubbed her snout on Tanya's shoulder.
"Titan wing Deadly Nadder," Astrid said in awe.
Tanya said nothing and tossed the bag into the air, pulling up the front mask over her mouth and nose. The Nadder blasted the bag and it exploded into a pink cloud of dust. The gang admired how sparkly it was, until they breathed it. Tuffnut and Ruffnut gagged dramatically and fell. Fishlegs fainted and Snotlout screamed for help. Hiccup and Astrid's eyes rolled back and they both fell with a thud. Once the cloud dissapated, Tanya removed the mask. Tanya looked down and smiled, they had falled into each other's arms. Ruffnut and Tuffnut had fallen into a heap with Fishlegs and Snotlout. Tanya then whistled.
"Storm!"
A Skrill landed with a thud. He crackled and sauntered forward.
"Alright Storm," Tanya said. "Grab the gang and let's go! Berk is our next stop!"
Hiccup and Astrid blinked. Snotlout, Fishlegs and the Twins all were looking around. They were all up in the clouds.
"Punch me because I must be dreaming!" Tuffnut yelled, but was quickly silenced by Ruffnut's fist.
"We must be dreaming! We look like we're in a cloud," Fishlegs agreed.
"You're not dreaming," Tanya's voice broke in. "You are in a cloud, or, on top of one."
The gang looked up and saw Tanya with a Nadder and a Skrill. They all screamed and huddled together as the Skrill stalked forward.
"Oh don't be scared of Storm, he's a good boy." Tanya scratched Storm's chin. "But, Snotlout definately can't ride him. Don't need Storm burning his pants off!"
"Nah, Hookfang does tha- Hookfang! What did you do to our dragons?" Snotlout demanded. "Tell us now or I will pummel you to a pulp!"
"Nonsense." Tanya waved his threat off. "They are back on your Berk. Now, let me introduce you to Berk."
"But we're on Berk," Tuffnut said.
"Yeah, we're not that dumb," Ruffnut added. "Duh."
"No, I said I was going to introcuce you to Berk, and I took you from your Berk," Tanya clarified. "I have brought you two years into the future. This is Berk five years after the truce between dragons and vikings."
The gang stood in confusion at Tanya. Tanya's shoulders slumped and she rolled her eyes. "Never mind, just pick a dragon."
Four other dragons landed and waited to be chosen. The Deadly Nadder, Poison, was the obvious choice for Astrid. The Twins, to no one's surprise, chose Missle and Boom, the Zippleback. Fishlegs squealed and chose the Gronkle, Amythest. Hiccup walked over to Storm, holding his hand out to the Skrill. Snotlout shrugged and walked over to the last dragon, a Sliquifier names Jaws. Jaws sniffed Snotlout and begrudgingly allowed him to mount.
Tanya mounted Natasha and rose up above the clouds. "Now, I just want to let you know, we are invisible to the people down in Berk."
"Thank you for that," Hiccup said. "Snotlout, please don't make a fool of yourself slapping people."
"Hey! Don't talk to me like that Hiccup," Snotlout said.
"What's with him?" Astrid asked.
Snotlout laid across Jaws' back groaning. Tanya wrinkled her nose and shrugged.
"He wouldn't stop flirting with me," Tanya said in distain. "So I knocked him out."
"Huh, I like her," Astrid said with a wink. "Good to know someone else is on my side."
"Look," Tanya said perking up.
They all looked down as hovered miles above the island of Berk. Hiccup and the gang, well, except Snotlout, all looked in awe of the new Berk. Berk was now crawling with dragons. A large hangar hung off the side of the island. There were many posts and perches in the middle of the village.
"Where are all of the dragons?" Hiccup asked.
"Oh, well, they are around the arena," Tanya explained quicky. "C'mon, let's go. The race is about to begin."
"Race?" The gang chorused in unison.
Natasha led the dragons off, now hovering above a grand stand. Stoick sat there with Spitelout and Gobber at his side. Hiccup's eyes widened as he saw how five years had treated his father. The whole village was around the newly shaped arena and all were cheering. Their dragons were all roaring and hyping themselves up. A few stray dragons and babies were flying about, but were careful, as they to knew what was happening. Suddenly dragons shot underneath us.
"Woah!" Astrid asked.
Tanya nodded and pointed to where Hookfang and Snotlout had just stolen a sheep from Fishlegs. He laughed and taunted Fishlegs before tossing it to Ruffnut. Tanya knew exactly what he had said, but the gang watched as Ruffnut's face twisted in disgust and Tuffnut blew Snotlout up. The Twins thew the sheep in their basket as they passed and all the rest shot back up again.
"What did I say to Ruffnut?" Snotlout asked curiously.
"You said and I quote, 'Here you go babe. Did I tell you that you look amazing today? 'Cause you do'," Tanya said in her best impersonation of Snotlout. "And Ruffnut said, 'ugh, c'mon Barf, it's starting to stink around here'. To which Tuffnut got in Snotlout's face and said, 'Nope, still hates you. Let's blow this place Belch!'" Tanya ended.
"Wow!" Ruffnut said. "He likes me?"
"Who cares! Do you see how amazing we look?" Tuffnut interjected. "I mean c'mon!"
We all looked back to see a blue nadder shoot past us as the last lap was called. Hiccup murmured a 'wow', but quickly shut his mouth. Astrid blushed a bit as she looked at her older self. Astrid admired how her clothes will change significantly when she will be twenty. We all watched as Fishlegs snatched the sheep right before Stormfly and Astrid could intervene.
Fishlegs let out a whoop of joy. "Oh yeah, oh yeah, Fishlegs! Heehee!" Everyone looked at him and he shrunk back from Astrid's glare. "Sorry, getting into watching outselves competing in, what's it called?"
Tanya looked over. "Dragon racing. It's called dragon racing. Anyways, you guys are going to want to watch this next part."
They all returned their eyes to see Astrid begin creeping up on the twins who somehow had the black sheep. Suddenly Astrid jumped up and ran along the back of Barf and Belch, flipping and grabbing the sheep right from the twins. Tuffnut looked shocked while Ruffnut yelled at her.
"You took our sheep!" Tuffnut wailed.
"How could you?" Ruffnut demanded.
"You were fighting for a sheep and clearly older me has done that a few times to you muttonheads," Astrid retorted.
We watched as Astrid dodged Snotlout, who ended up ramming his hammer into Fishlegs. Everyone winced with the crowd and Fishlegs whimpered.
"That's going to leave a mark Fishy," Tuffnut deadpanned.
Astrid and Stormfly righted themselves and quickly dunked the sheep into their marked basket. Everyone cheered as Astrid stood up, making a victory pass. She leaned to the side and high-fived the crowd. Astrid shot past the gang, forcing them to duck, as she whooped. She spiraled up into the clouds, not coming back down.
"Where's Hiccup?" Astrid asked suddenly.
Tanya smiled. "Follow me."
She led the rest of the gang up into the clouds. They flew for what seemed like ages before they suddnely saw a figure flying alongside a jet black dragon. Everyone gapsed in horror as they saw Toothless flap and blast the rock formation. Everyone winced and oof'ed as we watched Toothless protect Hiccup from tumbling down through trees and rolling to a stop.
Hiccup rolled out of Toothless. Stumbling a bit as he took off his helmet. Tanya mentally giggled as everyone gawked at how handsome Hiccup was. Hiccup watched his older self talk with Toothless before Toothless dangled him over the edge. Everyone chuckled as Toothless ends the little skirmish by flopping onto Hiccup.
"Why is he so handsome?" Snotlout moaned after finally waking back up.
"And look at that armor?" Tuffnut pointed out. "Way better than now."
Hiccup frowned and looked at him. "Thanks Tuff."
We all watched Astrid land and talk to Hiccup, helping trace on his extensive map. Tanya glanced to the side to watch Hiccup and Astrid's reaction as they goof around. Hiccup watched their older selves with intrigue, while Astrid smiled. Snotlout wrinkled his nose when he watched Astrid peck Hiccup's cheek.
"Really? Him?" Snotlout complained.
Everyone watched as Hiccup and Astrid mounted and shot off towards the billowing smoke.
"What's going on?" Astrid asked.
"Follow me and you'll find out," Tanya said with a grin.
They all followed Tanya, who knew the way to the destination. They all flew through the mist and dead trees. Tanya smiled as she watched everyone seemed to tingle with excitement as they waited to see what their future holds next.
