I'm having a bit of writer's block but I promise I'll have more of Chronicles and Family up as soon as I can until then thought you guys might (emphasis on might) like another yaoi themed story.

Prologue
The building was dark and silent. The silence unnerved the team of soldiers that waited in the bushes. One soldier whispered, "How long do you think it will take this cyborg to get in position?" Another replied with, "I think it's already in position. Take a look up there." The soldiers all looked up and saw the top secret trump card of the U.S. military.
With a wingspan of 30 feet and containing the most sophisticated weapons system J-53 was one of the most wanted cybernetic angel that was created when the C.A.P (cyber angel project) began. At a distance J-53 looked like any ordinary high school student. Wearing a pair of jeans and a gray hooded shirt, but up close he was without a doubt too beautiful to be human. His hair is a little longer than a crew cut and is the color of a lion's mane. His eyes are a combination of green and gold in color.
As J-53 lands his wings fold inwards till they vanish from sight. According to the C.A.P's blue prints the wings are nano technology. Microscopic robots that control the length of the wings as they are spread out and these nanos make it able for the wings to dissolve until needed. J-53 makes his way to the center of the roof and surveys the scene below.
"What do you see, J-53?" The question came from the team's leader. J-53's eyes are equipped with all types of ways to see, including night vision. "I see at least 12 men, all with weapons. I also see why they are going through all the trouble of keeping a low profile." "What do they plan to sell in the black market?" J-53 focused on the crates until the words became clear. "It would seem the professor was right, nano tech has been stolen. The crates all contain samples of it." "All right team I'll inform the commander and get the go, till then no one, I repeat no one is too attack." Many 'yes sirs' are said. There is a moment of radio silence as the leader gets permission to continue. "It's a go!! Let's get 'em boys!"
The team enters through the doors and windows and in the confusion J-53 drops in through the rooftop window. One of the bad guys thought he could sneak up on J-53 but was unable, because J-53 whipped around and as the guy got a good look at the face he had no idea that J-53 had already brought out his wrist blade. A blade that is one of the built in weapons of the angel project. J-53 simply brought his wrist up and slashes the guy's collarbone from shoulder to shoulder.
The team had placed the last of the stolen tech on the helo when J-53 hears the unmistakable sound of a time bomb. "GET OUT!!! BOMB!!!!" J-53 took flight as the helo was lifting off.
As the bomb exploded J-53 sees a man be thrown into the river by the blast.
In an instance he takes the chance to save the man from drowning. He flies over to the man and grabs his hand and says, "Don't let go of my hand." The man looks up at the voice's owner and was too stunned to say a word, but he did tighten his grip on the winged boy's hand.
One week later
Gabe Rivers wakes up in his bed still sweating from his dream of that night. He rubs his face and then gets out of bed to shower. As he showers he goes over that day again in his mind and still can't believe that his life was saved by a person with black wings. Gabe turns off the water and steps out of the shower and dries off. After dressing he goes downstairs to the study to see if his father is still home. The door to the study is open and Gabe is shocked to see that his father is home but he isn't alone.
"Ah, Gabe, come in," Lucas Rivers waves in his youngest son. As Gabe walks in the person by the window turns around and looks at him. Gabe's heart stops then picks up a faster beat. Those eyes, Gabe thinks to himself, they are so familiar to me. "Gabe come sit down I need to ask you a favor." Gabe does as his father says and sits down in the chair opposite him. His father waves to the boy to sit by Gabe. The boy does as told and sits down by Gabe. "Now then, to business. Gabe I need you to look after young Jamie here, he's the adopted son of an old friend of mine. Help him find his way in the manor. He's going to be spending his summer vacation here while his father and I go on our annual fishing trip." As his father speaks Gabe's thoughts are zooming through his head. Why do I get this weird feeling I have met this kid before? Who is he? and Why is he so familiar? "Well, Gabe can you do this for me?" Gabe looks at his father and nods yes. "Excellent," Lucas looks at the clock and says a very vulgar word. "I have to get back to work now so I'll leave Jamie to you Gabe." With that Lucas Rivers sails out of the room and out of the house.
Gabe stands up and walks over to the window and looks out over the lawn. Jamie sits where he is and looks at Gabe. After a few minutes of awkward silence Jamie speaks. "Your father never said where I would be sleeping while I'm here for the summer." Gabe's heart speeds up even more at hearing the voice that had so many times comforted him when he dreams of that night.
Gabe turns around and is momentarily lost in Jamie's green/gold eyes. Gabe shakes himself and thinks, Get a hold of yourself, Gabe. You're a man not some high school girl going crazy over a hot guy; besides Jamie's a guy too, plus, he's way too young for any kind of relationship.
Gabe is still trying to talk some sense into himself that he doesn't realize Jamie is no longer in the room. Jamie walks down the hall and up the stairs following Gabe's scent to his room.
It takes Gabe a full five minutes to look up and see that his charge is no longer in the room. Gabe shoves his hand through his hair. Where did he go? Then he hears his own stereo playing. Damn, he's in my room.
Gabe pretty much runs up the stairs and soars into his room. He is all fired up to say some harsh things to Jamie but the moment Jamie looks up at him the words die. Jamie turns off the stereo and walks over to the window.
The view takes Jamie's breath as he gazes over at the ocean. "This must be why you chose this room to use. The view is so amazing." Gabe walks over and stands by Jamie and looks out at the very view that keeps his life going. Dolphins jumping and playing in the water, sea gulls flying this way and that, and every so often a wave would crash against the beach below his window. "Yeah, that's why I sleep in this room. It's kind of ironic I love the view but I've hated the water ever since last week."
Jamie looks over at Gabe and sees the memories that Gabe tries hard to forget. Jamie gazes back at the scene and says, "Water itself isn't scary just like the thought of flying." Gabe looks over at Jamie and sees that his gaze is not on the water but on the sky. "To fly through the clouds, to feel the wind in your hair, that's what keeps my life from being boring." "So your father's a pilot?" Gabe asked the question wanting to know if what he thinks is true.
Jamie turns from the window and plops down on Gabe's bed. "No, my adopted father is not a pilot. He hates flying altogether, always saying flying is for those snobs who think a trip by sea or land is too low for them." Gabe bursts out laughing, after awhile Jamie starts to laugh as well. Gabe takes a breath before saying, "What do you think about flying?" Jamie sits up and gazes out at the sky. "I think flying is better than anything when you know how to dodge all the obstacles." "Obstacles?" Jamie gets off the bed and crosses over to Gabe. Gabe is caught in Jamie's gaze once more and before anything can happen Gabe's phone rings.
Gabe answers it and listens for what seems like hours. "Bah, I have to go to work, the company I work for needs my signatures." As he hangs up the phone Gabe turns to ask something but sees that Jamie is out on the deck. Gabe joins him and says, "You going to be okay here for awhile, I have to go to the office to sign some papers." Gabe sees that Jamie's face is sad as he looks up at the clouds. "Jamie?" Those green/gold eyes focused onto Gabe's hazel ones.
As Jamie's gaze focused even more he sees Gabe's features. Semi-long brown hair tied up in a ponytail, since Gabe was still dressed in his home clothes Jamie could see muscles bulging. Jamie feels an odd flutter in his chest and has no idea what it is. It is not in his program. This new feeling is sort of scary for Jamie and he turns his gaze back to the ocean. "Go do what you have to; I'll be here when you return."
Gabe notices Jamie's voice is a little lower than normal. "Okay, if you need anything just call me." Gabe places a card into Jamie's hand and walks out of the room. Jamie looks down at the card. How am I going to tell him I'm the one who saved him from drowning? Jamie sighs as he turns his gaze back to the clouds.
Unexpected Trouble
"All right, I think that's everything." Lucas closes the trunk of the car as Jamie's adopted father opens the passenger door. "Gabe, you have the number where to reach us if you need to, right?" Gabe pats his shirt pocket, "Got it." "Good, remember Gabe, you're in charge so make sure Jamie doesn't get lost or hurt." Gabe nods his head to show he understands. Lucas gets into the car and starts the engine.
Jamie comes out and stands by Gabe as the car pulls away and drives out onto the road. "Well, I think its safe enough to say, it's about time they left." Gabe says as he walks back into the manor. Jamie follows silently thinking to himself, Will I ever be able to confess to him what I am?
Gabe stops walking and turns to look at Jamie. I wonder what he's thinking about? Gabe reaches out and places a hand on Jamie's shoulder to get his attention. "If you got something bothering you I'll listen." Jamie gazes into those hazel eyes and is tempted to blurt out everything; about what he really is and why he was created, but something inside Jamie tells him that the truth will hurt Gabe. Jamie turns his gaze away and says, "I'm okay. I was just wondering how long their fishing trip will be."
Jamie shrugs off Gabe's hand and walks over to the window that looks out over the side garden. Gabe sighs and goes to the kitchen to talk to the family cook. While Gabe is in the kitchen Jamie sees a black helo hovering over the ocean to the left of the manor. Jamie focused on the helo and sees the words 'Rivers Laboratory' on the side. Those words make Jamie think, What kind of work does Gabe do? Jamie is considering going outside when Gabe sits down on the window seat with him.
"What'cha thinking about this time, Jamie?" Jamie looks over at Gabe and thinks about pointing out the black helo when the door bursts open. Gabe stands up as the man in a white lab coat walks into the room. Gabe's gaze darkens with anger as he says, "What the hell are you doing here, Curt?" The man with the lab coat simply smiles as tear gas is shot into the room.
When Gabe opens his eyes he sees that he is in one of the lab's prison cages. As his eyes adjust to the gloom of the room he sees an unconscious Jamie strapped to an examining table. "Jamie, wake up. Come on wake up." Gabe's voice is just above a whisper but somehow it reaches Jamie's ears fairly quick for Jamie's eyes pops open.
Jamie's gaze adjusts to the gloom quicker than Gabe's did and he sees all he needs, to know that Gabe has nothing to do with what is going on at this laboratory. "Gabe, you okay?" "Yeah for now, bah what the hell is Curt up to?"
"The answer is simple." Curt walks into the room and as he approaches Jamie says, "I spent years trying to perfect the angels but now I see someone has beaten me to it." Gabe is baffled, "What nonsense are you spouting?" Curt merely laughs at Gabe's expression before saying, "Perhaps you should ask him." Curt gets to Jamie's side and pulls out a knife from his pocket. "Now I wonder what would happen if I were to use this to cut open your chest." There is an evil gleam in Curt's eyes as he places the blade's tip on Jamie's chest just below his throat.
Gabe is horrified by Curt's attitude and was about to say something when the strap on Jamie's legs tore off. Curt backs away and is almost knocked off his feet as the straps on Jamie's arms and chest are torn off as well. As Gabe watches, Jamie gets up off the table and stands where he is and locks his gaze with Curt's. "You think I'll let you copy me to all your files? You think I'll just lay still and let you dissect me?"
As Jamie speaks Gabe sees those green/gold eyes harden, and right in front of his eyes Jamie's black wings spread out. Gabe's view of Jamie changes with the next words that were spoken. "You are never going to use me like the military did two weeks ago. I may be a nano tech cyborg but I am not just some tool to be called upon to destroy whatever enemy you hate. Pay attention to these words, no one will ever use me or hurt the one person I love most."
Gabe looks into Jamie's eyes as 'love' is spoken and is shocked to see his own reflection in Jamie's eyes. Jamie uses his wings to give him a burst of speed and with that speed he slams into Curt and sends him flying out into the hall. Jamie turns to look at Gabe and without saying a word uses his wings to open the cage. Gabe crawls out of the cage and stands up just as Curt raises the knife and throws it at him.
In a flash the knife is caught by Jamie and sent flying back at Curt and is embedded into Curt's twisted heart. Jamie then turns to the wall and uses his built in heat laser to burn a hole big enough for Gabe to use. "Go before it's too late." Jamie doesn't turn to look at Gabe. Gabe is torn in two; half of him wants to run through that hole, the other wants to see if what Jamie said was true.
"Jamie, come with me." Gabe walks up behind Jamie and wraps his arms around his hips. Jamie freezes his thoughts zooming through his head. "Jamie?" Gabe's voice is gentle and Jamie takes a step forward and turns to face the one person he never wants to hurt. The look Jamie sees in Gabe's eyes is more than he ever dreamed possible. Gabe places a hand on Jamie's right cheek. "I need to know if what you said is true. Do you love me?" Jamie gazes into the hazel eyes that has come to be his anchor in life and says, "More than flying."
Epilogue
"Gabe?" Jamie looks down at his plate as he thinks of the words he wants to say. Gabe's hazel eyes capture the light of the moon as he turns his gaze to his lover. "What?" "Um.....there's something I haven't quite told you about me." Gabe stands up and walks over to the window to look out at the ocean. Jamie gets up and goes over to stand by the one he loves most. As Jamie gets closer he thinks about all the things that have happened to bring him and Gabe together.
Gabe turns to face Jamie and pulls him into his embrace. "Say whatever you need to say." Gabe's voice is what Jamie needs to make his choice of words come out. "I can change my gender. If you want me to be a girl I....." Gabe cuts off those words with a deep breathtaking kiss. "Jamie, I fell in love with you as you are now. I don't want you to change." Gabe tightens his hold on Jamie and kisses him one more before saying, "No matter what happens in the days to come always keep these words in your memory. I will always love you even when my spirit is no longer in my body."
"Thus, J-53 has been deleted from military records." Professor Lucas Rivers Sr. typed at the end of his report about Cyber Angel J-53. The professor swivels in his chair to look at the next angel he plans to give a love life, D-29.
