Dean Ambrose parked his car in the driveway of his apartment building, it was late and he was exhausted after another long day at work. He worked at a popular garage in town as a mechanic. Even though he was the best mechanic in town and loved working on cars, he hated going to work every day because of his asshole boss, incompetent co-workers and cheap, bitchy customers. He sighed exhausted and got out of his car slowly, he went inside the building and took the stairs to his floor. Once he reached his floor he went to his door and unlocked it, he reached his hand out to open it, but hesitated. The thought of going inside his small, messy, lonely apartment made him want to sleep in his car. Sighing again he relocked his door and left, deciding to walk to the nearby bar two blocks away; his second home. After arriving he went inside, went to the counter, sat down and ordered his usual drink. When his beer arrived, he sighed, took a long drink of it, as he began to think about his life and how it got a whole lot more interesting since he met the gorgeous Roman Reigns at work when he brought his car in to be fixed.
Dean's life from an early age was filled with nothing, but pain and heartache. Both his parents were alcoholic, abusive, druggie assholes who usually forgot they even had a son! His father was arrested and sent to jail for life after shooting a Police Officer in a drug bust when Dean was 14. His life only got worse after that, so when he was 16 he ran away from home and never looked back. He lived on the streets doing whatever he needed to do to survive, he had no friends or family, no one to love and he was okay with that; he put a wall around his heart to keep himself from getting hurt, letting no one get too close. He did and said whatever he wanted, not giving a damn what anyone said or thought about it!
His life took an unexpected turn when he was 19, looking for a way to make money, he met a man looking for someone to kill his father for the inheritance. He had never killed anyone before, hell; he had never even held a gun before in his life. He took the job and not only did he realize how good at it he was, but in a sick way, he enjoyed the rush that came from it. Over the years he became better and smarter, never being suspected in any of the killings and the people that hired him weren't either. He soon became one of the best hit men in the business and for years no one could compete with him. Then three years ago, he began to hear about another hitman whose record was close to his; he's never met the man and didn't even know his name, but he wasn't worried. Despite all the money he's made over the years he lives a simple, low-key, regular life, working a regular job so didn't draw attention to himself.
A week ago, while working, his boss Andy ordered him to switch jobs with his idiot nephew Bobby. At first, Dean was pissed, until he saw Roman; he looked like a Greek God, and suddenly he didn't care that Bobby was a complete and utter moron! He told Bobby about the switch and after he was gone he introduced himself, Roman did too, before they went inside to check out his car. Dean was so attracted to Roman, but didn't say anything or ask him out like he wanted, for once in his life he chickened out! Dean worked on Roman's old car for two days, he even went out of his way to get him a deal on parts. Finally, it was ready so he called Roman and let him know he could pick it up tomorrow. The next day, Dean for the first time ever smiled walking into work, ever since he met Roman he couldn't stop thinking and dreaming about Roman and he felt like a damn schoolgirl with a crush! He went to the back room to change, as he did his phone went off with a new text. He took it out of his pocket, already knowing it was a new client; no one else had his number, he opened the message and read it.
The man called himself H and had gotten his number from another client, he then told Dean he needed him to do a job for him and money was no problem. Dean agreed and asked to meet up to talk about the job, but H refused and instead told him he'd text him with the location of the target when it was time and he was to kill them and he'd be paid whatever he wanted. Dean at first wasn't sure about it, until the man offered him double to do it his way and Dean accepted. After ending the conversation, he erased it and put his phone back in his pocket, before he began to change. He couldn't stop thinking about the strange conversation though and he began to doubt whether or not he should have agreed to do it. Nothing about the conversation seemed normal and he had no clue who his target even was, hell, he had no idea who his own client was!
Realizing Roman would be there soon he pushed all thoughts of H and his weird new job out of his head and focused on Roman! A few minutes later Dean saw Roman pull in, but he didn't get out of the loaner car they had let him use. Confused, he went outside and met him, they talked and Dean told him everything he had done and Roman thanked him, before they went inside. After checking out his car they talked for a few more minutes, before Roman had to go. After he left, Dean was pissed with himself for not asking him out. It's been a damn week and he still couldn't get Roman off his mind, at least he had his dirty thoughts and dreams to keep him company. His thoughts were interrupted by the bartender asking him if he wanted another beer.
"Hey, handsome, you ready for another?"
"You know what; I think I'm good actually. I'm just going to go home." Dean answered, before he finished the rest of his beer in one drink and placed the bottle back onto the counter.
"You feeling alright, Dean?" The pretty blond girl asked concerned. "You don't seem like yourself tonight?"
"Just tired, long day." Dean replied smiling, as he took his wallet out and paid her for his beer, making sure to give an extra special tip. "Have a good night, Tia."
"You too, Ambrose."
He left the bar and walked home, this time he made it inside his apartment. He locked the door behind him and kicked off his boots, before he went into the living room without turning on any lights and laid down on his back on the couch. Closing his eyes, his mind was instantly filled with thoughts of Roman, he sighed as he put an arm over his eyes. He couldn't believe how much he was screwing with him, he needed to find a way to see him again...soon, or he was going to lose the little sanity he had left!
**Two Days Later**:
Roman Reigns drove through the busy streets, it was early and he was on his way to work as a construction worker. It was hard work, with long hours and it could get boring at times, but at least he wasn't stuck inside all day. He really didn't want to be at work today, he hadn't slept well the night before; his mind full of non-stop images of Dean Ambrose, the sexy, bad boy mechanic, he had met days ago when he took his car to be fixed. Of course, his best friend...brother Seth Rollins made his life hell by teasing him every chance he got over his crush. He sighed, as he turned the radio on and began to think about his life.
Roman grew up an only child and because of that his parents were extremely overprotective of him and even though he loved them both deeply, he rebelled and fought with them a lot. When he was 18 his parents died in a car crash and his whole world was thrown upside down. With no other family, he ended up on the streets doing whatever he had to do to survive. When he was 20 he met a man who was looking for someone to kill his business partner and even though he had never killed anyone before Roman took the job. After it was over he realized how good he was at it and decided to keep doing it; the money was quick, easy and damn good! As time went by he got better and smarter and he became one of the best in the business; he's never been suspected in any of his murders and neither have the people who have hired him. For the last three years though, he's been hearing talk about another hitman whose record was a little better than his. He's never met the guy and in this business that was a good thing! He had to admit though he was a little curious to know who he was and what he was like. He had made a lot of money over the years, but lived a simple life and worked a regular job, so he didn't draw attention to himself.
Despite being a hired killer, Roman was a good person, with a kind heart; he'd help anyone who needed it. He had a few friends, but only one he considered a brother, his name was Seth Rollins; who was in med school to become a Doctor. They had met almost 10 years ago at the gym, at first, they only saw each other there and were friendly, but they soon started hanging out outside the gym and quickly became best friends.
A few days ago he had taken his car to the garage to be fixed and that's where he met the sexiest man he had ever seen, Dean! He was so attracted to him, but didn't act on it and left the garage, kicking himself for being a damn coward. Three days later it was time to pick up his car and that meant seeing the man he hasn't stopped thinking and dreaming about since they met! Dean was your typical bad boy, complete with a trim, muscular body, gorgeous face and a voice that made you weak in the knees. He wasn't the type of guy Roman usually dated and he had made the stupid mistake of telling Seth about his attraction to Dean. Of course, that led to his brother teasing the hell out of him every chance he got!
After he was satisfied with how he looked he left his apartment and drove the loaner car; they had let him use, to the garage. As he pulled into the parking lot 15 minutes later his phone went off with a new text. He took it out of his pocket and saw it was from an unknown number and he knew it was a new client, so he opened the message and read it. The message was from a man who called himself H, he had gotten Roman's number from another client and he had a job for him. He told him money wasn't an issue and Roman agreed to meet up to talk about the job. H didn't want to meet, instead, he told Roman that when it was time, he'll text him the location of his target and then Roman will take care of it and once it was done he'll get paid. Roman wasn't sure about it and H then offered to pay him double for doing things his way and Roman agreed.
After ending the strange conversation, he erased it, before staring at the screen he wondered if he should have turned the job down. He didn't really need the money and something felt off about the whole job to him. Why all the secrecy? What was this H person hiding? Suddenly, someone knocked on the driver's side window, scaring the shit out of him. It was Dean, Roman got out of the car and gave Dean back the keys to the loaner, before they talked for a few minutes; Dean told him about the extra stuff he had done for him and he was so grateful. They then went inside the garage, Roman followed Dean, he wanted to ask him out so badly, but didn't, afraid of being rejected. So, instead, he'd just have to think of ways to see him at the garage without making it obvious what he was doing. He could handle killing people for money and do it without hesitation, but when it came to asking Dean out on a date...he turned into a damn coward! A while later he had to go, after he left he kicked himself for not asking him out, he couldn't believe what coward he had been! It's been a little over a week and he still couldn't stop thinking of Dean and it was driving him crazy! He needed an excuse to see him again, but so far nothing had come to him. His thoughts were interrupted when he suddenly got an idea; it was pretty lame, but it was still an excuse!
He quickly turned right and began driving in the opposite direction of work, he was nervous and excited to see Dean again. As he got closer to the garage, he could feel his body begin to react, remembering the dirty things he's been fantasizing about doing to and with Dean! Forcing those thoughts out of his head so he didn't embarrass himself, he pulled into the parking lot. Instead of getting out though, he sat frozen in his car, his nerves getting the better of him again. He almost left, but stopped, as Dean came out of the garage with a customer; he wore his coveralls done up to his waist, they hung off of him as his upper body was uncovered, except for a tight, white tank top that showed off his muscular chest and arms.
Roman watched unseen as Dean began checking out the customer's car, when he bent down his coveralls clung to him in all the right places. Roman leaned back against his seat and closed his eyes, groaning softly at the image. He opened his eyes again and continued watching Dean like some twisted stalker. Dean went back inside with the customer and Roman decided to stop being such a coward and go talk to him. He got out of his car and quickly went inside before he lost his nerve again. Once in the building he looked around and found Dean standing with the same customer; a good looking, tall man, with brown hair and tattoos on his arms named Randy. He was openly flirting with Dean, as he watched them, Roman's hands clenched into fists at his sides and he was overcome with anger and jealousy. Before he could act on it though, Dean saw him and smiling he quickly said his goodbyes to the asshole and made his way over to Roman.
"Roman, hi!" Dean greeted him. "I wasn't expecting to see you again so soon, is something wrong with your car?"
"My car?" Roman repeated confused.
"Uh, yeah, your car, the only reason a person comes to a garage is to get their car fixed." Dean replied smiling.
"Oh, right, my car!" Roman said smiling too.
"So, what's going on?"
"With what? Wait, my car, what's wrong with my car!" Roman said quickly, mentally kicking himself, yeah this was going well! "It's uh, it's...making this really weird knocking noise." He added, saying the first thing that popped into his head.
"Really? It was running fine when you picked it up."
"It was? I mean it was, but this morning on my way to work it started making the noise."
"Okay, well let's go so I can check it out."
An hour later, Dean had run every test he could think of on the car and even took it for a test drive, but there was no knocking noise and everything else was working fine. He was completely confused and very disappointed; he had hoped to find something that would require a lot of work, so he had an excuse to spend time with Roman.
"I've checked your entire car and took it for a drive, but I can't find anything wrong with it. Are you sure you heard knocking?" Dean asked, as he closed the hood and stood up wiping his hands on a rag.
"Uh, no, I...I have a confession to make." Roman answered embarrassed.
"There was never anything wrong with your car was there?"
"Nope...I was just too much of a damn coward to..." Roman began, but trailed off nervously.
"To what?"
"Uh, to ask you to have dinner with me." Roman said quietly, looking at the ground, avoiding eye contact.
"Dinner...as in a date?" Dean asked surprised.
"Uh, yeah, but...but it doesn't have to be if..."
"Roman, I'd love to have dinner with you...as a date!" Dean said smiling, cutting him off.
"Really?" Roman asked smiling, Dean nodded. "Great! I'll text you after work and we'll set it up."
"Sounds good, I'm off at six." Dean said, as he took his phone out of his pocket.
"I get off at five." Roman added, as he took his phone out too.
They exchanged numbers, before Roman had to go, as he drove away he couldn't stop smiling, he was going on a date with Dean freaking Ambrose!
**Two Days Later**:
Dean finished getting dressed for his date and he was nervous as Hell! He wasn't used to being nervous, he had never been nervous like this before and he had no idea how to calm his damn nerves! Even though he was beyond happy to be going out with Roman, he couldn't stop thinking about the strange job he agreed to do for the mysterious man called H. There was something about the job that kept bugging him, something that wouldn't let him treat it like any other job. Maybe, it was the whole anonymous part or maybe it was the fact that the guy had offered him double if Dean did things the guy's way, instead of his usual way. The other thing he couldn't stop thinking about was the fact that he knew nothing about his target or the man who had hired him. What if the guy was a cop or what if his target was someone powerful like a Politician or something? There were too many questions and no answers! Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by his phone going off, he picked it up off of the dresser and looked at it, it was Roman calling, he smiled, as he quickly answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Dean, it's Roman."
"Hey, Roman, how are you? Wait, you aren't calling to cancel are you?" Dean asked worried.
"I'm good and no, but I' am running late though. Work was crazy today and my boss is a total ass, I just got home now."
"Oh, okay." Dean said relieved. "You want me to pick you up in an hour?"
"Do you mind? I'm so sorry, I..."
"It's cool, Ro, just text me when you're ready and I'll come get you. No big deal really, stuff happens." Dean said, cutting him off.
"That's awesome...you're awesome! Thanks, Dean, I'll see you soon."
"Alright, bye, Ro."
"Bye."
Roman hung up and put his phone on the dresser, a smile on his face. He quickly made his way to the bathroom for a shower, he wanted to look perfect for his date. He turned on the water letting it heat up, while he got undressed, before he stepped into the tub. He was feeling excited, but also nervous about tonight, he usually didn't get nervous and it made him a little worried about messing up somehow. Even though he tried to ignore it, there was something else worrying him. He was still very uneasy about the mystery job he had agreed to do. There was just so much about the job that made him feel that way; the way the guy would only tell him his name was H and the fact that he knew nothing about his target! This could all be a damn trap, the guy could be a cop for shit's sake! Was it worth the risk, especially now that he had met Dean?
He shook his head, he wasn't going to worry about that tonight, not when he was going out with the man he's been fantasizing about since they met! He got out of the shower, dried off and returned to his room to get dressed. A half hour later he was ready, he texted Dean, before he went to the living room and put his coat and shoes on, he then grabbed his wallet and keys. He had just finished giving himself one last check in the mirror, when someone knocked on his door. Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves he opened it smiling to find Dean standing there.
"Hey, Dean." Roman greeted him.
"Hey, Ro, you look good." Dean said smiling, looking him up and down.
"Thanks, you clean up well, yourself."
"You ready to go?"
"Yep, I just need to lock up and we can go." Roman said smiling, as he stepped into the hall and locked the door.
They left the apartment building and went to Dean's car, once there Dean opened the door for Roman, before he got into the car too and they drove away.
As they drove away neither man noticed the lone male sitting in the dark car across the street watching them leave. After they were gone, the man took his phone out of his pocket and smiling dialed the number he knew by heart.
"What?" An annoyed male voice spoke seconds later.
"It's me, sir."
"It's about damn time, Randy! I've been waiting for your call and you know how much I hate waiting!"
"Sorry, sir, but I had to wait for Ambrose and Reigns to finally leave."
"So, they are together?"
"Yes, sir."
"Good, good, my plan is falling into place, just like I planned."
"What do you want me to do now?" Randy questioned.
"I want you to complete the task I sent you there to do."
"Yes, sir, I'll bug both Ambrose and Reigns' apartments and then I'll go check on the location of their little surprise."
"Excellent, I can always count on you, Randy. Don't let me down, Orton!"
"Yes, sir." Randy replied smiling, before he hung up.
He put his phone on the passenger's seat, before he got out of the car, went to the trunk and opened it. He then took a pair of black gloves out of his jacket pocket and put them on, before he grabbed his bag of equipment and tools. He shut the trunk and began walking towards the apartment building; he had a tracker on Dean's car to alert him when they were returning. He wasn't worried about getting caught bugging either apartment though, he was not only quick, but he was damn good at what he did! Once he had finished, his boss could move onto the next part of his genius plan, that was the part Randy couldn't wait to happen! In just a few days both Ambrose and Reigns would get exactly what they deserve and he couldn't wait!
