Chapter 13
My eyes widen in astonishment watching him pulled up with his convertible car God-knows-what car brand he's currently driving cause I know I'm no fan of cars. Geez, boys and their freaking car toys. Jake showed his teasing smirk at me. Wait, he's asking us for a ride?
'Did Jake just asked us for a ride?,' Cassie whispered to me, rephased the question which was in my thoughts. I just stood there feeling dumbfolded towards myself.
'Well, what do you say girls?,'
'Sure, why-,'
'No thanks, but we'll walk,' I cut Cassie off immediately, while she looked at me with disbelief. 'What are you doing?,' she mouthed at me.
'You sure? I mean I just offering a helping hand for you girls,'
I glared at him, 'Thanks, but we rather walk,' I told him simply and dragged Cassie with me leaving him.
'What are you doing?,' Cassie whispered angrily to me, 'when a famous celebrity just asked you for a ride, you accept it not reject it!,'
'Well, I just did so let's just go,'
'Hold on!,' Cassie spoke loudly, 'If you're not going to take a ride with Jake but I can,'
'What's that supposed to mean?,' I argued
Cassie didn't say anything else, she walked up to Jake and whispered something to him, while I crossed my arms over my chest, eyeing at them, and then Jake said something to her and Cassie turned back to me in all glee mode.
'I'm taking a ride with Jake,' she announced proudly.
Instantly, the arms acrossed my chest were on my sides, my jaw dropped. I did not believe she just said that. I huffed 'You're kidding,'
'Nope, I'm not,'
'Cassie, stop fooling around and let's go,'
'You're walking home by yourself, I'm taking a ride with Jake,' she added again, looking at Jake.
I'm in so pissed mode right now. Cassie was dumping me on the streets so that she could hitch a ride with Jake?!
'You're ditching me for him?,' I yelled
Cassie said nothing but just walked right at Jake's car opened the car passenger door and sat on the passenger seat closing the car door, while I just stood there and watched.
'You're seriously going to take a ride with this rich and famous celebrity instead of walking back with your best friend? Well, fine have it your way then! I don't care!,' I argued back loudly and I was left breathing heavily because I was yelling in one breath. I took one look at Jake and Cassie before walking away alone, practically stomping with my feet.
'How dare she? How could she?,' I thought to myself. She's my best friend and always got my back. And now she's hitching ride with Jake Calston. I've should have known she's just like one of Jake's fans.
And then, the car once again stopped beside me. I knew it was Jake so I keep walking dragging my feet along with me, picking up my walking speed.
'Get in,' Jake spoke, I eyed him at the corner of my eye before facing the front ignoring him. But he doesn't stop there, the car began to slowly move along with me.
'Come on, Cassie. Don't be mad,' Cassie answered
'I'm not mad. I'm furious,' I told her, regretting for opening my big mouth, while I'm actually trying to ignore them.
'Amy, please. I was only fooling around. You're still my best friend,' Cassie said in a begging tone.
I still ignored her.
'Please, Amy. I'm really REALLY sorry, please forgive me. I'll do anything,'
And that made me stopped my tracks. And I looked at her, with a raised eyebrow. 'Anything?,' I questioned again.
'Anything,' she pleaded
I thought hardly now. After few minutes, I thought about it. 'Alright, I answered. This is what you can do,'
Cassie listened intently and waiting.
'First,' I began 'I need you to stop over reacting with Jake Calston all the time. It's starting to get really annoying,' I told her, and I'm very aware that Jake was right there listening. I stole a glance at him, and I could see that he's trying very best not to burst out laughing. I gave a mental smirk to myself.
Cassie jaw-dropped. 'Hey! It's not my fault that he's hot and attractive,' she murmured silently to herself with a faint hint of pink rising from her cheeks. I broke out a silent giggle to myself. 'No buts, you have to deal with it. Seriously, it's very annoying,'
'Fine,' huffed Cassie 'Is there anymore?,'
'Help me with my Maths homework for a week,' I said simply
'What?! Amy! You know I suck at Maths!,'
'Psh, yeah right. Who got an A for every test in Maths?,' I challenged her and it's true when it comes to Maths, Cassie here, is the true Maths genius. She's probably the descendant of Albert Einstein for all I know. I knew she trying to make up excuses with me. And I gave a huge 'I Got You Good' winner smile.Cassie didn't say anymore, she just crossed her arms and she eyebrows frowned. I can know she's annoyed and frustrated right now. Well, she shouldn't have messed with me in the first place. But I know that her anger will wear off soon, it's always been that way.
Jake on the other hand, looked rather amused watching us and not saying a single word. Either he doesn't want to get involved with the cat fight or he's too interested to watch us girls arguing each other. But seeing his expression, I take the second option.
'Well,' he began 'since everything's settled. We should get a move on too, we're loosing daylight,' he turned to me with that piercing blue eyes of his, 'Are you joining us, Amy?,' he asked emphasizing my name Amy in a flirty tone. I breathing hitched and my heart started pumping when he said that. What the hell is with that reaction?
I quickly shook that thought off and quietly took in a deep breath before responding, 'Yes, let's hit the road,' I told making my way and opened the backseat door and sat down before closing it.
'Buckle up,' he informed, and I mimicked him behind his back, and we're off. Finally.
I take that Cassie was still fuming at the front, she haven't said a word, after that negotiation. Feeling the wind blowing through my hair as I looked outside of the houses and trees moving in a rapid speed. I'm surprised that Jake still didn't mentioned anything, the fact that he's so talkative and bragging all the time. Well, I needed that peace and quiet for once.
'You girls argue a lot?,' Jake asked snapping out of my daze and breaking the silence.
'Yeah, we do, but at the end of the day. We're still best buds,' I said hoping Cassie would hear that. But she's still silent, okay. Now she is mad.
I reached forward at the passenger seat where Cassie was sitting and leaned towards her,
'You're still mad?,' I asked, pouting. But she turned away from me.
'Alright. Initiate Plan B,' I thought, then I decided to poke her in the ribs. That's one of her body sensitive weakness. Cassie's ribs are sensitive to touch for some reason, even it's a light poke or a hard poke she will jerk automatically. So I slowly with my index finger, I reached towards Cassie's rib and poke her gently.
'Ahhh!,' she shrieked and Jake nearly lost control of the car because of that. 'What the hell, Amy?!,'
Burting out laughing out loud, so loud that tears are forming in my eyes and clutching my stomach. I was laughing uncontrollably.
'Stop laughing, Amy! That's not funny,' complained Cassie.
My laughing died down eventually, wiping the tears from my eyes and got up straight. 'I'm sorry, Cassie. But that's the only way to make you talk or react,'
'You know I hated when you do that,'
'Do you want me to do it again?,' I challenged her again, and her eyes widen. And I attacked her once more she shrieked.
'Okay girls. Mind you two keep it down there. You don't want me to crash, don't you?,' Jake stated
Both of us stopped immediately, and I quickly sat back. I admit that was a stupid move to do. But look at the bright side, I manage to make Cassie talk to me again.

'There's my house,' Cassie stated. 'You can drop me here,' and Jake stopped the car. 'Thanks for the ride, Jake,' she put on her flirty tone batting her eyelashes at him. I propped my hand under my chin and rolled my eyes in annoyance.
'Anytime, Cassie,' Jake said smoothly. Cassie giggled.
'Oh for the love of God,' I coughed out loudly to break them up. And Cassie snapped out of it and stared at me noticing her tint of pink forming on her face as I continued to watch with an indifferent look on my face.
'I should be going now loads of homework needed to be done,' Cassie said unbuckling herself from her carseat and getting off the car. She gave a shy wave towards Jake, and I rolled my eyes again.
'Hey, you forgot about me?,' I voiced out. And she turned towards me, and waved 'Bye Cassie, bye Jake,' she said and walked off.
'Remember about my Maths homework, Cass,'
'Yeah, yeah,' she waved back-handed.
I chuckled softly. I saw Jake's eyes watching me at the rear view window,
'It's just you and me now, Amy,'
'It seems so,'
He shifted the gear and we depart from Cassie's house. 'Do you and Cassie argue a lot?,' he asked
'Sometimes, only because she's annoying in the butt. We usually tease each other a lot but she's a good friend,'
'Yeah, that stunt you pulled off earlier almost made me got into an accident,'
'How you met her?,' Jake asked again
'I met her right after you left for Hollywood,' I said and then realized I regretted saying that instantly. That was a bit too harsh. I glanced at the side mirror of the car to watched his reaction but, his face kept still, it looked like he was thinking.
'Well, I'm glad you met her,' he answered in a monotone.
Deciding to change the topic fast, 'So, I saw you talking to Shelly Hughes today,' I brought it up what comes into my mind.
'Shelly Who?,'
'Shelly Hughes, school's Queen Bee or as I like to call it, Queen Barbie. I saw you talking to her,'
'Oh her, well she kinda approached me,'
'Of course she would. You're THE Jake Calston,' I told, as I watched the trees moving from the speed of the car, we're almost reaching at my house now.
'Besides, she's not my type of girl?,' he added
Oh? Jake has a type of girl? 'Really? What sort of girl you're into anyway?,' I asked curiously
He stopped the car as we already reached at my house and he turned towards me, 'It's a secret,' he said teasingly.
I figured that he wouldn't tell me who is the girl he's interested. Besides, I bet it must be one of his co-stars or some other celebrities like his age for sure. Suddenly, the thought of that made my stomach churned a little.
'It's okay, yoou don't have to tell me,' I said softly, opening his car door and got out of the vehicle, and shutting it softly. 'I'll see you tomorrow,' I added walking off.
'Amy,' he called out. I turned, and he looked a bit troubled 'Good night,' he simply said. I gave a tight smile and continued walking up to my porch, hearing his car engine slowly fading away from the distance.

Another new chapter for you guys! So yeah, I'm going back to college on September 5th and sadly and very unfornunate, I've failed one of my subjects what's worse is the fact that this particular subject that I've failed is under a lady lecturer who's a real bitch. I mean, most of my classmates despise her because she's being fussy and bossy at us. And she can be very predictable at times. GAH! I HATE HER SO MUCH! So now, I have to retake this failed subject and have to face her again. FML.
Hopefully, I can still update this story while being in college. All the best.
