And then something hit me.

"So if I am born in 1520 and now is 1530, you're telling me, I'm 10 years old?" I scoffed, rolling my eyes in disappointment. "Why am I so tiny for a 10 year old kid?"

Elfido laughed a little, rolling her eyes and crossing his arms. "My lady may not be aware but that what a child's size is, though it really depends on the genes, and it's pretty normal. Unlike in your place where children are tall already because it's in the family's genes."

I cooed, shaking my head as if I got what he was trying to say. "Let's just pretend I understood that."

"Don't worry." He grinned. "When you grow older, you will be taller than you thought. It's probably the french family's genes."

I truly did not understand everything, except for the french word as that's what they call their people. "That's true but—"

"Yes?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you calling me 'my lady'?" I asked, raising back and eyebrow at him. "You've been calling me that since awhile ago."

"It's because it's the only proper way to call the one that the Goddess approved, right?"

I rolled my eyes, and giggled. "Approved, my ass."

Elfido tilted his head in confusion, and I inhaled sharply before looking at him. "But can I ask you something?"

"What now?" He groaned, probably annoyed by the fact that I have several questions.

"What is my mother wearing? Pretty sure you have seen them. The dress is beautiful."

His back slumped, and mouth went agape, and looked at me as if I'm the dumbest person in the world. I mean—you can't blame me, it's not that I know all the time, and I haven't seen them.

"It's called ball gowns here, and that is the traditional clothes for noble people. Though it's different for the commoners." He explained.

Traditional clothes? I thought, index finger tapping my chin, and looked at Elfido again yet he wasn't there anymore.

"Princess," A maid called out of the room, greeting me. "It's time for dinner soon."

Eyebrows knitted, I took a glimpse at the outside, realizing that it's already near dinner time. I didn't even realize as I sighed in disbelief. I stood up from my bed, and the maids entered the room with my clothes prepared just like any usual way of going out of the room.

As soon as they're done dressing me up, they helped me out of the room, going all the way to the dining room. You can say I'd be lying if I say that my activity everyday is not boring when it fact it is because all I do is sleep, eat, and drink my medicine. At least I still get out of my room when it's time for meal.

My parents said that I won't be restricted from going out of the palace soon once I'm completely healed but not beyond the palace walls. Might be because I'm just a hidden child, and the only people who knows are the maids and butlers.

A yawn escaped my mouth before entering the room, greeted by my parents who seemed to be looking forward to my presence. I walked towards them, had my usual greeting and sat down. I tell you, in the first day of being here, I was clueless as to what to do. Gladly, the maids taught me how to greet them when it's meal time as well.

"Duchess, and My King." A butler came in making us all snapped our head towards him.

"What is it?" My father asked in anticipation and excitement. "Is the little Lord already here?"

Little Lord?

I raised my eyebrow at him before giving back my attention to the butler who nodded, and turned around. Peeking behind him, I saw a little child who has a blonde coloured hair, and wearing those tiny traditional clothes. He seemed to be around my age as well.

"Lord Namjoon!" I jumped on my seat, startled by my mother's sudden burst out of joy. I looked at her who ran towards the little child.

The little kid whose name is Namjoon, so much for this french name if that's what he is, bowed in front of mother before passing beside her making my jaw dropped. What the hell is this kid's attitude? That was too rude of him to greet a duchess, and a King like that. Just who is he to be like that?

I just stared at his existence who walked towards the seat across me, and bowed towards my father. At least he had some respect left because he bowed in front of them as if my parents has a lower rank than him.

"You're finally here." My father genuinely smiled yet there was obvious nervousness lurking behind making me baffled.

"Elfido..." I muttered under my breath, and looked beside, startled once again at his sudden appearance right next to me.

"Mady?" Mom called out, and I abruptly sat properly, grabbing my fork and knife. "Are you alright?"

I slowly nodded my head, eyes still focused on the food and not trying to grab their attention. I was surprised by Elfido who just appeared out of nowhere, and it's more shocking that ny family can't even see him.

"Next time," I breathed in before exhaling loudly, and muttered. "Don't surprise me like that."

"Yes, my lady." He answered obediently with that same serious expression. "Is there any question you have to ask?"

I nodded before whispering, and didn't budge on my seat. "Who is this kid?"

"He is Lord Namjoon, who received the titles of Duke of Rothesay, and a Prince and Great Steward of Scotland the moment he was born." He responded, and I waited for more information but he just stayed silent.

"That's it?"

"There's nothing more to tell." He said, and cowered his head down. "For other information, you will have to find out. I don't even have that much knowledge about them according to the system except for your character and your parents."

I squeaked, looking at him who tilted his head, nodded and disappeared right away. "What—"

I closed my mouth, slowly grabbing back my utensils and eyes wavered towards my parents who was looking at me. Blinking my eyes, I continue to eat, not minding the chills sending right behind and the feeling of someone looking at me.

"Ah," My father laughed. "This is Madeleine."

Namjoon just looked at me blankly with no emotions running his face, and just nodded.

That was awkward. But I could see the relief in father and mother's eyes. Is it because the little kid didn't ask my position in the palace? Maybe because I am just a hidden child. I mean I am a princess but not totally part of the family since I am just another man's child. But then again, I never bothered to ask my parents about it as well. Maybe because they didn't want me to know about my true blood line. I didn't want them to be uncomfortable at all.

Just then a sudden groan resonated the entire room causing everyone to look, and saw the little boy slamming his utensils. His attitude is showing again.

"I don't like the food here." He scorned making my jaw dropped in surprise. What is with this kid?

"Hey, you—" I halted when my father coughed, fist covered his mouth.

"Let's prepare something else." I furrowed my eyebrows, confused as to why they're respecting a Duke and just a prince, and on top of that, just a little kid.

"Fath—" Feeling a hand stopping me, I glanced to see my mother who shook her head towards me making me even more bewildered.

Why are they so respectful when they're higher when it comes to rank? They are King and Duchess, what makes them be so respectful towards a little prince?

I snorted silently before my mother leaned towards me. "Be respectful, he is a Lord from Scotland."

Snapping my head towards father and the little kid, they seemed to be talking some serious matter while the maids are still preparing for the next batch of food.

"What a spoiled brat." I mumbled under my breath, groaning and rolling my eyes.

Stabbing my steak, unknowingly, my eyes flickered towards the little kid and glared at him.

"Are you interested in little lord?" Father clapped his hand, smiling at me making me choke on my food.

"Be careful, Madeleine." Mother said, softly patting my back. My mouth open but stopped when the little kid decided to talk, and his word made me internally scream.

"I don't plan on marrying a childish princess." He said in a cold and insulting tone making my mouth dropped.

Little kid! I am older than you!

"Mind you," A voice said beside, and I looked to see Elfido again. "You're just ten years old here."

I missed before looking down as I continue to eat, and mumbled. "At least when it comes to mentality."

"You're basically acting like a kid now." He sneered, and disappear before I could even talk back.

I took a glimpse at Namjoon, and glared at him. Just you wait, little kid.
