My body feels like it's floating,
Being carried through space.
Images dance in my mind,
Who needs drugs.
When all you need is a beautiful song.
The simple notes that can make moments extraordinary.
Notes that cause memories to arise and pass like a shadows through my mind.
Emotions rising and remembrance of things that once were.
Things lost to time.
Music resides peacefully for those who listen.
Acting as a place to run away to.
Let the notes take me away, somewhere far from reality,
Because I'm safer there than here,
Where I can never be free,
Stuck in this world of brutality.
