AN: In honor of it being Christmas Eve, this will be a Christmas Themed chapter with flashbacks from different Christmases over the years. Some will be Valerie centric while others will be Ophelia centric.

Christmas, 2018

This Christmas, just like the others for the past four years had consisted of only Ophelia, Valerie, Hayley, and Hope. It had been four years since Ophelia had adopted Valerie and decided to raise her as if she were her own.

During that time, Hope and Valerie immediately clicked and became the best of friends. Hope was clearly thrilled to finally have someone that was her own age to hang with. She even claimed to that Valerie was her sister since Ophelia was, as she said it, her 'Dad's wife and her mom's sister' even though she was neither. Hayley and Ophelia couldn't help chuckle when they heard Hope say this, but let her believe it.

It was now Christmas Eve, a few minutes before Midnight. Ophelia stood in front of the Christmas tree she, Valerie, Hayley, and Hope set up together. They knew, in the next few days, they would have to move again to keep looking for the cures for the Mikaelson's sicknesses, which was why they were put into a deep slumber, waiting for the day that Hayley and Ophelia awoke them with cures.

Klaus, on the other hand, got the short end of the stick and was being held captive by Marcel, who took the beast serum. It had been nearly four years since that had happened and Ophelia felt lost every moment of it without Klaus. She missed him dearly. Just before Klaus had sacrificed himself to Marcel to save his family he had finally come clean to Ophelia on his undying love for her and they had shared a single, passionate kiss before he left.

Now, here Ophelia was, standing in front of the Christmas tree, thinking about the many Christmas's they had spent together when they ruled New Orleans together.

Tears formed in her eyes and Ophelia began to silently cry. She knew she had to be strong and took a deep breath, wiping her eyes. She couldn't take the pain of missing Klaus any more and decided to perform a spell to see him.

Ophelia slipped off the bracelet that she wore on her wrist, which was given to her by Klaus on the night of her wedding to Jackson.

She closed her eyes as she tightly grasped the bracelet in her hands, beginning to perform the spell that would astral project her to where Klaus was, "Demitte moi, demitte moi," She began to quietly chant, "Demitte moi, demitte moi."

Ophelia suddenly opened her eyes to find herself in the garden, the former prison for rogue vampires. She glanced around, only to find Klaus sitting on the ground with a line of salt around him. He looked utterly weak and had chains around his neck and hands, "Klaus?" She spoke up in a fragile tone, her voice cracking at the sight of him.

Klaus immediately looked up at Ophelia when he heard her voice. Suddenly, his face began cold and emotionless. causing Ophelia to frown in confusion, "Go away," Klaus spoke up in an annoyed tone, "I know you're not real. You're just a figment in my imagination. My brain's way of distraction itself from all of the pain. Just likes the last dozen times I saw you."

"I'm real. I assure you," Ophelia informed him with a small smile on her face as she walked closer to the circle of salt surrounding the male hybrid. She knew she couldn't cross it, so she knelt in front of it, "I did a spell to astral project here. I couldn't take being without you. It's Christmas day and I couldn't stop thinking of the holidays we spent together over the centuries," She paused and as Klaus was about to speak up, she spoke, "It's been four years, Klaus. It's 2018."

"How is she?" Klaus asked her after being quiet for so long.

Ophelia immediately knew he was talking about Hope, "She's doing great. She's not alone anymore. She has a friend. My daughter," She informed her and Klaus gave her a weird look.

"Y-You have a daughter?" Klaus said in disbelief.

Ophelia couldn't help but smile at how taken aback Klaus seemed, "She's adopted. Four years ago, after leaving New Orleans, Hayley and I found her. She was three years old and had triggered her curse when she used her magic to kill the man who killed her mother." She explained and Klaus' eyes widened in realization.

"She's a hybrid," Klaus responded and Ophelia nodded.

"Both witch and werewolf," Ophelia informed him, "On her father's side, she's a Bennett witch and on her mother's, she comes from the same bloodline as you did. But anyways, Hope's really happy with Valerie by her side. You should see how much trouble they get into together. Hope claims that Val is her 'Sister',"

Klaus couldn't help but smile at the thought of it, "Well, I hope I get to meet your daughter one day." He told her and Ophelia nodded.

"You will, Klaus. Hayley and I are close to finding a cure. We will get you out of here, I promise." Ophelia assured.

"I miss you, Ophelia," Klaus confessed to her, tears threatening to spill from his eyes, "I'm ashamed of you to see me like this."

Before Ophelia could respond, she heard footsteps. approaching. She quickly stood up, her eyes remaining locked on Klaus, "I love you, Klaus. I'm going to get you out of here." She told him in a rush before chanting the spell, "Demitte moi, demitte moi."

"I love you, Ophelia," Klaus whispered, but it was too late, Ophelia had already disappeared.

2026, Christmas

Valerie thought it'd be a great thing to get suspended, especially since it was because of the accomplishment of making her own prison world. A vampire named Alex pissed her off so bad that she stuck him in a prison world. It led to only a suspension since both Ophelia and Klaus decided to use her suspension time annoying the crap out of her until she learned her lesson, and Dr. Saltzman thought it was a great idea.

So when Christmas time came around and Valerie was still on her suspension, Hope was with Keelin, Freya, and Hayley in New Orleans while Valerie was stuck being a third wheel to her mother and Klaus in Rome.

In Rome, it ended up snowing for the first time in years. Valerie followed behind Klaus and Ophelia, who locked arms as they walked down the street. It had been hours and they were still walking around, admiring the scenery.

"Are we done yet?" Valerie asked her mother and Klaus curiously as she glanced up at the snow falling from the sky.

As they continued to walk, Klaus and Ophelia glanced at each other and smiled before turning to Valerie, "Oh, we just started, sweetheart. We have a few hours to go until we reach that restaurant I promised to bring your mother to years ago."

"A few hours?!" Valerie exclaimed and Ophelia smiled, nodding her head.

"Maybe you shouldn't have sent someone to a prison world," Klaus commented and Valerie gave him a glare.

"So you're saying, if you had the chance to send someone you hated, for example, my mother's many suitors, to a prison world where they could never escape, you wouldn't do it?" Valerie asked with a mischevious look on her face. She knew Klaus wouldn't be able to say otherwise.

"As a matter of fact, I would, actually," Klaus commented and Ophelia gave him a look of disbelief.

"Klaus!" Ophelia scolded him.

"What, love?" Klaus questioned, "The girl has a point. Let us think about it, if you had the chance to lock away someone you despised in a place alone for an eternity, would you do it?"

Ophelia remained silent, avoiding eye contact with both Valerie and Klaus. She suddenly let go of Klaus' arm and walked toward the street corner, "I think we better call a cab. A silent car ride sounds about good right now."

Klaus and Valerie turned to each other, both of them amused by Ophelia's behavior, "Your mother doesn't want to admit that we're right." Klaus whispered to Valerie, who chuckled as she nodded her head in agreement.

With her magic, Ophelia made it so that all the now falling on Klaus melted, causing him to become drenched in water, "Bloody hell!" He complained, causing Valerie to laugh at how it sounded with his English accent.

"Payback's a bitch," Ophelia replied as she gave Klaus a sarcastic smile.

A cab finally stopped and Ophelia got in, leaving the car door open for Klaus and Valerie. Valerie glanced at Klaus before laughing as she rushed to the cab.

2027, Christmas Eve

After the death of Klaus, Hayley, and Elijah, Ophelia spent her Christmas with Hope and Valerie. For the break, she compelled the girls a whole mansion in Mystic Falls to celebrate. She set up a large tree with a ton of expensive presents under the tree.

Both Valerie and Hope weren't in the mood to celebrate Christmas after losing three members of their family. Ophelia, herself, was sad but tried to keep a happy smile on her face for the girls.

Ophelia jumped up and down as she waved her hands of front of the duo's faces, "Come on, girls! It's Christmas Eve! Open up some presents!" She encouraged them, grabbing their hands before leading them over to the Christmas tree.

Valerie and Hope sighed as they shared a glance with each other. They knelt in front of the Christmas tree as Ophelia placed two presents in front of them, "I think you guys will like these the most," She informed the duo, who glanced up at her before beginning to open their gifts.

Valerie's was a small rectangular box while Hope's felt like a large book. Hope gasped as she unwrapped the present to find Ophelia's infamous spellbook. Hope's eyes were wide as she looked up at Ophelia, "You're giving me your spell book?" She asked in disbelief.

Ophelia smiled, nodding her head, "Yup. Just as long as you promise not to ruin it and you promise to share it with Val." She explained to her before turning to Valerie, "Come on, Val, open it."

Valerie seemed hesitant at first before she opened it to find a moonlight ring inside the red, velvet box, "Is this what I think it is?" She asked her mother, completely shocked.

Ophelia nodded, "Yup. Now, you won't ever have to turn on a full moon ever again," She informed her with a smile on her face, "Now why don't you girls open the rest of your gifts?"

Hope and Valerie couldn't help but finally smile as they walked over to the gifts under the tree.

At first, that night started like all the others, they believed it was going to be a horrible one without their family with them. But come to find out, Ophelia got around that. While Ophelia felt depressed without Klaus, and also Hayley, she kept a smile on her face and remained happy for the girls, which ended up helping them have the best Christmas they had had in a long time.
