It had been two weeks since, I meet the Ex-Avengers, when FRIDAY sent an alert to Karen letting me know that the Ganali device was being transported to the compound.
"Thanks, KAREN!" I said as I started to swing my way towards the caravan. It took me two hours but I got to the caravan, where I jumped onto the roof of one of the cars, where I got connected to their comms thanks to Karen.
"Spider-Man, that you?" One of the guards asked.
"Ya, it's me. Hope you don't mind, I hitch a ride."
"Not at all. We'll take it from here, and you take it from there."
"You got it!" I said before I carefully sat down, but still stuck to the roof. Karen continued to scan while I searched, causing a quiet trip for the next hour an a half.
"Peter, there's several people coming up from underground. I estimate two minutes." Karen said and I cursed before lightly hitting the roof of the car.
"What's up, Spider-Man?"
"We've got incoming, two minutes. Slow down, and prepare yourselves." I said before I stood up some.
"One hundred meter's." KAREN said.
"Thanks, Karen." I said as I watched the ground be drilled open from the ground up, before I launched myself at the drill.
"Karen, any more up ahead?"
"Negative, I'm not sensing anything for the next five miles in any direction.
"Perfect, tell them to hurry up and get around this, and I'll catch up." I said before I started to fight. It took me five minutes, before I got them all webbed up, with their weapons away from their reach.
"Police, estimated three minutes out, along with a clean up crew, curtsy of Mr. Stark." Karen said.
"Thanks, Karen." I said before I quickly start to sling back to the caravan, where I dropped back onto the roof of the same car as before.
"You good, Spider-Man?"
"I'm fine. Keep going as planned. I'm not allowing anyone but Mr. Stark get this device." I said.
"You heard, Spider-Man boys. Let's get this to the compound in one piece." I heard and I stayed ready for a fight for several miles, when I saw a marked truck heading my way.
"KAREN, zoom in on that truck, and tell me what it reads."
"Sabel International." KAREN said as I watched as someone with silver hair climb out of the window of the truck, before I saw that, that the said person was a chick, that jumped onto the top of the transport truck.
"Damn it." I said before I quickly followed here led, so I was facing her.
"Lady, I'm gonna ask you nicely to leave." I said.
"Not going to happen, Spider. I've been hired to take this back to Oscorp. Now get out of my way." She said and I noted her thick accent.
"Oscorp? No, this is now property of Tony Stark." I said.
"It was built by Oscorp. Stark doesn't deserve this." She said before she started to attack me. I carefully duck dodged and weaved, until I was able to carefully tackle her off the truck, taking the brute of the land onto the ground.
"Get that device to Stark, now!" I ordered them caravan and they sped off, just a bit quicker.
"I've already alert, Mr. Stark and he's sending Hawkeye, Black Widow and Falcon to make sure the transport arrivers quicker. Mr. Stark says, you are doing great so far." KAREN said.
"Thanks, and make sure he alerts the caravan as well." I said as I barely missed an attack from the chick.
"Hey, Lady? You got a name or should I just give you one?" I asked.
"It's Silver Sablinova, Spider." She said before she pulled out two guns.
"What? Oh, shit!" I said before I started to dodge the bullets, that were more like lasers, while she did the same for my webs. Our fight was getting no where, when I saw her tilt her head to the side.
"Hawkeye, Falcon and Black Widow have taken over the transport of the device. Falcon and Hawkeye took out the backup." i heard a voice from her comm say, before she snarled at me. I didn't even get a chance to dodge when I got shot twice with her guns, before a helicopter started to fly over us, dropping a ladder down.
"That's a warning, Spider. Osborn wants his equipment back." Silver said as I tried to slow the bleeding, while she was lifted off the ground.
"KAREN, patch me through to Mr. Stark." I gritted out.
"Hey, Kid. How you holding up?"
"First half was fine until the second wave. Thanks for calling those three as back up, but could someone come get me."
"Why, out of webs?"
"No. Silver Sablinova and her company were hired by Norman Osborn to take the Ganali device back. I managed to hold my own with her as the caravan meet up with those three. Before I could even sense what was happening to dodge, she shot me twice. The bullets were more like lasers, than actual bullets." I gritted out.
"What?! FRIDAY, get the medbay ready, and get me my suit! Kid, hold on tight. I'll be there in like five minutes, but I want you to stay connected. Talk about anything and everything you want until your in the medbay, you here me?"
"A bit to loud and clear, Tony." i said before I started talking about how my day was going before the caravan, and then the first fight, before I could hear his thrusters.
"Hey, I'm going to pick you up. I know it's going to hurt, but bear with it, okay?"
"M'Kay. You mad?"
"Not at you. You did, good kiddo. You did good to stand toe to toe with someone like her. FRIDAY got the footage from KAREN." Mr. Stark said as he scooped me up.
"Hm, that's good. Silver said you didn't deserve the device, because it was built by Oscorp."
"Ya. Talk to me about it?"
"My, dad. He. He was the creator alongside the formule that caused me to get my powers, and what's helping Rhodney. If anythinng, it's mine. No offense, Tony." I slurred out through my pain and blood loss.
"None taken, kid. It was going to be yours anyway."
"You'll have to go into greater detail of your dad's research, with me and Helen later, though. Okay?"
"Can we have Thai?"
"Yep. I'll order it for everyone. Maybe you can sweet talk your way into Nat, making her killer chocolate cake."
"Hm. We there, yet?"
"Almost. Hey, any plans for your weekend with Scary Girl?"
"She's protesting about the animal testing being done at Tucker's Industries, then another Woman Equality movement, demanding a higher wage pay, and to get rid of the extra taxes on health stuff that deals with periods. She said that being a woman was expensive as hell, and I did the math. She's not wrong." I slurred out.
"You'll have to tell me more about that later. We're here kiddo." Tony said as I was sat on a gurny.
"Hey, Helen. How you today?" I asked her.
"Busy as always, Spider-Man. I'll patch you right up, and you'll be good as new."
"Yay. Your the best, Helen." I said causing her to laugh lightly as she stripped me of my mask and suit.
"I try to be. Alright, I'm going to give you your pain meds, alright."
"M'Kay." I slurred out, before I could hear loud footsteps.
"You guys are loud." I said as I saw the Avengers.
"What the hell happened to you?" Sam asked.
"Silver Sablinova. Oscorp hired her company. Can I sleep, now?" I got out as everything started to get blurry.
"Knock yourself out, kiddo. I'll go over the footage with the rest."
"M'Kay." I said before I was out like a light. I came to, and I saw that it was an hour before dinner.
"How you feeling, Peter?" FRIDAY asked in a voice, only I could hear.
"Better and hungry. Where's Helen?"
"She's on her way to give you a check up."
"Hm." I said as I leaned my head back. A few moments later, Helen walked in softly.
"Hello, Peter. How you feeling?" She asked just as softly.
"Better and hungry. How bad was the damage, doc?" I asked making her lips twitch in a smile.
"Not as bad as I thought it would be. Nothing major was struck, and your advanced healing got to work once I made sure the photon bullets were out."
"Not lasers?" I asked.
"Laser meets bullet, is the best to think of it."
"Yikes, no wonder they hurt, worse than normal bullets." I said.
"I can imagine. I used the smaller cradel to help your healing." She said as she started my check up, before we made light talk about what happened.
"Alright. Your clear to head to the common room. Make sure you eat just a little bit more than normal, to make up for your lost meal, and your healing factor." She said as she pointed to some fresh clothes for me.
"Thanks, doc." I said.
"Your welcome, Peter." She said before she walked out, leaving me to change, where I headed to the common room.
"What are you doing up, you should be resting?!" I heard Steve say in a loud voice and I flinched some, at how loud he was.
"Tone it down, will you Capsicle. My hearing is more sensative than yours. Besides, I just got the all clear from Helen. I'm fine." I said before I lifted up my shirt some, to show that my wounds were all healed but pink.
"What the hell are you?" Sam asked.
"Ah, Mutante."
"So, like Logan?" Natasha asked.
"No. He was born that way. Mutante is when someone gets their powers through different ways." I said as I grabbed the bread.
"Hey, don't stuff your face just yet. I've got Thai, like you asked coming." Tony said.
"Two sandwhiches aren't going to kill me, Tony. Plus, Helen said I needed to eat jut a bit more due to me missing lunch, and the dent my healing factor did." I said.
"What exactly are your powers, anyway?"
"Heightened athletic abilities, rapid healing. I can stick to things. My senses are dialed up to eleven, all the time. Like I can hear all your heartbeats, the humming of Tony's reactor, and Helen talking on the phone to her family." I said as I pointed to the ceiling with the butter knife I was using.
"Anything else?" Steve asked after a moment of silence.
"Spider physiology. Like, I'll just get the itch to hang upside by a web, or to just sit on the ceiling. It's why I've got a designated spot on the ceiling in the common room, I'm sure you've noticed." I said.
"What about the blood rushing to your head?"
"It happens, but not as fast as a regular persons. I can hang upside for a good half hour, before I have to drop back to the ground." I said.
"Huh." Clint said.
"What'd you mean by heightened athletic abilities?" Sam asked.
"Superhuman strength. I can jump pretty high as well. Twenty-feet or so, straight into the air. Basically Cap over there, but faster reflexes, equilibrium and a regenerative healing factor. I've also got this thing, I call the Spider-sense, which is represented as a "tingling" or "itching" sensation emanating from the base of my skull whilst simultaneously apprising me to personal danger in proportion to the severity of that danger. It helps me with my surroundings, identifying and critically evaluating a potential threat at seemingly pre- or sub-conscious level operation and furnishing this information instantaneously to his conscious mind. However, both the temporal and spatial dimensions of my spider-sense are ambiguous, as it is alternately as functioning at close range and apparently within "normal" time, aiding my escape from machine guns in combat, or avoid a police ambush, or gangs surrounding me."
"Sounds annoying." Sam said.
"It can be. Tony has helped me make a radio frequency detection, that allows me to track whatever I tag it with my spider-sense." I said.
"That's helping, actually." Natasha said and I nodded. as I headed to the bar to eat my snack.
"How's your fighting skills?" Natasha asked.
"Could be better."
"When do you head back home?" Natasha asked.
"Tomorrow, but I'm coming back for spring break."
"Good, I'll start teaching you then." Natasha said with a look that made me not want to argue, so I nodded.
"FRIDAY, can you look up everything you can find on a Silver Sablinova, and send it to KAREN and my STARKPad."
"Of course, Peter. Also, Miss Jones is on her way down with BOSS Lady." FRIDAY said.
"She pissed?"
"Miss Jones was reading over papers about Tucker's." FRIDAY said.
"Man, you a braver kid than I could ever be, with you dating her." Sam said.
"She's scary." Clint said.
"I like her." Natasha said with what I could tell was a smile.
"Pepper absolutely adors MJ." I said as I sent Tony a smirk.
"We do not speak of that day!" Tony hissed at me, making Rhodney and I start to laugh.
"No, you don't speak of that day. We happen to find it halirous." I said.
"Are you talking about the day, MJ graced us with her presense?" Pepper asked with a smile.
"We hadn't gone into details yet. I figured, MJ would love to talk about it, herself." I said with a smile.
"Naturally. How you feeling, loser?"
"Hungry, but I'm all healed up." i said.
"Good. Who was it?"
"Silver Sablinova. FRIDAY's looking her up for me."
"STARKPad?"
"And Karen."
"Hm. I'll go over it later."
"What'd I do without you?"
"Be scrambleing for information, and dealing with your eneimes blindly." MJ said with a smirk.
"True." I said before I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, bringing her to my chest, where I kissed her cheek.
"Tell everyone about the day, you met Tony." I said and she let out a snicker.
"Okay, so I get a call from Peter's phone, only to hear that it's Tony Stark, letting me know that Peter got heavily injured with his fight against one of Fisk's henchmen. He then gave me permission to come over."
"Wait, you deal with Fisk? That dude's the Kingpin of the East Coast Mobs. He's got at least a couple thousand people on his paychecks." Clint said.
"I deal with the little guy, while you lot go fight in China against Rogue robots. Besides, I'm not the only one getting Fisk's men. I've got DareDevil and his friends down in Hell's Kitchen."
"Oh, ya. Jessica's great." MJ said.
"They hardly leave their area but when they do it's usually to give me information in person, or to warn me about Fisk, of or something else. Jessica and MJ, tend to have weird debates, or train together."
"She holds back a lot, considering I've seen her just lightly kick open a fire hydrent." MJ said with a shrug.
"But, back to my story. I came over, storm right over to him, and started yelling at him."
"It was a yelling speech on par with Pepper's, and you did it beautifully, MJ." Rhodney said.
"It was terrifying!"
"It's funny as hell." I said.
"Language."
"English." I said in a deadpanned tone, making MJ let out a few giggles, which caused me to smile.
"I yelled at him about anything I could think of that didn't involve Peter being Spider-Man, to asking why he waited so long to ask Pepper to marry him, after she dealt with his bullshit for years."
"I ended up liking her speech so much, I ended up hiring her to be my intern. It also helped that Peter linked me your blog page, when he came to, the second time, after you left." Pepper said as she kissed the top of my head, before she sat down next to Tony, in her sweats.
"I hate that day." Tony whined out, while the rest of his laugh. Soon our Thai was delevered and we all ate, and laughed to the movie Clint picked until my phone rang. I reached into my pocket and pulled it out to see that it was an unknown number. I hesitantly answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Peter! It's me, Harry! Harry Osborn!" I heard and I ended up choking on my drink.
"Whoa, dude! I didn't call to hear my best friend die over the phone." Harry said and I moved the phone some, kissed MJ's cheek and headed to the hallway where it was quiter.
"Long time no, speak Harry." I said.
"Ya, sorry. Dad wouldn't pay for international calling, and the time difference would have made it hard to reconnect with you, Pete."
"Ya, don't worry about. Anyway, what's up?" I asked.
"Well, dad's given me permission to be back, so I'll be starting at Midtown Tech, after Spring Break."
"Really? That's great."
"Ya, I'm calling so we could reconnect and catch up."
"Ya sure. I, uh can't do anything today but we can hang out tomorrow."
"Ya that works .Oh, I hear that you and MJ started dating."
"Ya."
"It's about time you two started dating. You've been head over heels for her since we were kids."
"Oh, shut up about that, Harry."
"Never! Anyway, I'm going to crash from my jet lag, but I wanted to call and give you my number. Text me tomorrow."
"Ya. See you tomorrow, man. Glad to have you back, Harry." I said.
"Glad to be back, Pete." Harry said before he hung up. ONce he did, I sighed and leaned my head against the wall.
"Something wrong, kiddo?" I heard Tony ask and I turned some to see him looking at me with a worried look.
"An old friend of MJ's and I is back."
"Well that's great. Who?"
"Harry Osborn." I said and Tony blinked in shock.
"I didn't realize you two were friends."
"Harry, MJ and I were pretty much always together up until the summer before our freshman year, when Norman sent Harry to London for school. Then, Ned came in and now he's back, but he can't know about Spider-Man, or that I work here." I said as I ran a hand down my face.
"Hey, it'll be alright kid. If you need to go over to Oscorp, to find out more about your dad, and Harry's the only way that's fine. I'll keep my distance, but I'll still check in from time to time."
"You'd do that, for me?"
"Yes because I trust you to call me when you know you have to." Tony said and I smiled some at him.
"Thanks, Tony."
"Anytime, kiddo. Now let's get you back, to scary girl." Tony said as he patted my shoulder. I told MJ, who like me grew worried butwe agreed that she should be the only one known to work at Stark Industries, until everything blew over. Which was going to suck, for me.
