I sat on my bed the next morning, trying to figure out if Evan asking me out was just a dream. But I knew it wasn't. I was going to have my first date with a boy.

Normally, no boy would ever looked my way. Not because I wasn't attractive or anything. I thought I looked okay for a girl with my genetics. I wasn't exactly skinny, mainly because I enjoyed Mac and cheese and chicken nuggets too much. I probably could live off of Sheetz if I tried.

What would happen tonight? Would Evan show up at my front door with a bouquet of flowers? Would Jasper jump out of nowhere and karate chop him in the face? Was this all some elaborate joke those two came up to get back at me?

Wait, that's not right.

Evan hated Jasper. Probably not as much as I did, but the feeling was there. Plus, Evan said he was going to call that night before I fell out the window. They can't possibly be in cahoots.

I grab a hoodie that was sitting at the foot of the bed. I was too lazy to put on a bra, either way with a hoodie on the girls are covered. My crutches were leaning against my nightstand, so I grab them and hoist myself up.

The house was quiet. It was a little after nine in the morning, and Jasper wasn't here yet. Hopefully he wasn't coming. Maybe he'd rather go to military school then spend another minute with me.

That's wishful thinking.

Carefully, I walk down the stairs. I would rather not have a repeat of what happened yesterday. I didn't want to turn into one of those old people from a life alert commercial.

When I get downstairs, I turn and walk into the kitchen. I was hungry, and I wasn't going to wait for Jasper. Yesterday, I learned that I could walk with one crutch if I moved slow.

I grab a bowl out of the cabinet and then I placed it on the counter. I did the same thing with the cereal, milk, and even a spoon. Not before long, I was sitting on a stool going to town on some fruit loops.

As I eat, I scroll through my phone. The only thing I had on my phone was a couple of emails, and even those weren't exciting.

Out of habit, I click on Facebook. I had no notifications, which wasn't shocking. I only had like, ten friends, and I was related to all of them. Half were on my mom's side and the other half was my fathers. I still kept in contact with my grandparents on my father's side. They were nice people and I wasn't going to lose them because their son was an asshole.

Out of curiosity, I go to the search bar and type in Evans name. Which was Evan Bello. His family owned the only Italian restaurant in town. If I'm correct, his great grandparents opened that restaurant back in the thirties or forties when they immigrated from Italy for a better life, which they got.

There was only one Ethan Bello that popped up, and not surprisingly, it was him. His profile picture was just him sitting on a bench in the park. His blond hair was tousled around because of the wind, and his bright blue eyes seemed brighter since he had a big smile on his face. It looked as if the photo was taken in mid laugh. He did look attractive in the photo, but I shook those thoughts away. This is probably a pity date or something. He couldn't actually like me or anything.

I scroll through his profile and nothing really caught my eyes. He wasn't one of those people who constantly posted every small detail about his life like most people our age. There was the occasional check-in at places, but that was it.

The front door creaked open and I set my phone down down to glance down the hall towards the door. Jasper stood by the table as he took his shoes off. As if he could sense me staring, he glanced up and frowned.

"What?" He snapped bitterly. I roll my eyes as I turn back to my food. Yesterday he was somewhat nice, and I guess today he'll be a jerk. He's like a Katy Perry song. First he's hot then he's cold.

"Nothing," I say casually as I swallow my food. "So what's got your panties in a twist?"

Jasper walked into the kitchen in a huff. Whenever Jasper was in a bad mood, I always thought it was the hysterical. Now, since I have to be in the same house as him, I can't escape his negativity.

He stopped directly across from me and looked me dead in the eyes. "It's all your fault."

I sigh as I set my spoon down. It's was too early in the morning to deal with this shit. "Oh goodness me, how dare I let it be my fault. I thought I was so careful. You know, I blame the youth. If they could solve their own problems they wouldn't have to blame little ole me."

Jasper stared at me blankly. "I'm talking about the lake. I missed out on what might have been a once in a lifetime opportunity."

I gasp dramatically as I clap my hands over my mouth for dramatic effect. "Don't tell me, was there's a unicorn there?"

"What?" He asked as he narrowed his eyes in confusion. "No."

"Two unicorns?"

"Just fucking shut up," he said to me. "I'm talking about the Sanderson Twins."

"Who?" I ask. The name didn't ring a bell.

"You wouldn't know them," he said in a huff as he turned the sink on, it slowly began to fill with water.

"Then stop acting like I know them," I say bitterly as I reached over and placed my empty bowl in the sink.

"Then stop acting like I know them," he said in a mocking tone.

"I don't have to listen to this," I mumbled to myself before grabbing my crutches and walked out if there and to the living room.

I plopped down on the couch and turned on the television. The blank black screen soon came to life, and I started channel surfing. Since it was the morning, only childrens shows were on as well as soap operas. I wasn't that desperate yet.

As I was flipping channels, I could hear Jasper finishing up in the kitchen. I tried to block it out, but soon he came out if the kitchen with my phone on hand.

"Are you Facebook stalking Bello?" He asked with an amused look on his face.

"How did you get into my phone? It was locked," I snapped and I try to snatch it from him, but he pulled away.

"You like him, don't you?" He questioned as he began to scroll through my phone. "He just broke up with his girl, right? You trying to worm yourself into his life?"

"That's not-" I say as I try to get up on my feet but I end up falling back on the couch.

"I can help with that," he says as he begins to walk around the room while typing on my phone.

"Don't you dare," I say as I pick up one of my crutches and hurled it towards him. The crutch didn't even phase Jasper as he typed. He actually laughed at my attempt to stop him.

"And send," Jasper says as he looks up from my phone with a smug look on his face. If I didn't have this hunk of plaster holding my leg together, I would be on my feet pounding his face in. Jasper tossed back my phone to me, still unlocked. I looked down at what he did and gasped.

Hattie Page: Hey there sexy. Heard about you and your girl. I would never do that to you. So let me know if you're interested, because I sure am. You'd be surprised at all the things I could do to you. I'll make you feel good.

A lump immediately formed in my throat. It was over. Evan probably thought I was some weird stalker now. I'm just glad he sent this through private messenger. If he wrote it on his time line for everyone to see, I would probably be the laughing stock of the school.

I couldn't delete the message, it already went through. But that didn't stop me from trying. At least, until the little 'seen' picture appeared under the message.

"You're a dick," I yell at Jasper, who was doubled over laughing.

"Did he respond?" He asked between laughs.

I glanced down and I see those dreaded three dots. He was responding. I brace myself to be insulted, but it never came.

Evan Bello: Hey Jasper, does hurting a girl make you feel more like a man? Or is it to compensate for something?

I couldn't help but crack a smile at the screen. Evan knew it wasn't me. Of course he wouldn't. I don't have the confidence to message people. That's why I don't do tinder. Even if I did, Jasper would still figure a way to ruin it.

"It's for you," I say smugly as I stretch out the phone to him. He stops laughing as he glares at the phone before taking it.

He was clearly unamused by what he read, so he started typing. This went on for a few minutes, and after each message he ended up looking more and more pissed. I stayed quiet as I savored the moment.

"You're going out with Bello tonight," Jasper stated, not asked, stated. Like as if he were trying to wrap his head around it.

"Yeah," I said flatly. I didn't have to explain anything to him, and I wasn't going to.

The phone buzzed in his hand and he went right back to it. I was getting curious about what they were talking about and I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to get my phone back.

"Fuck this," Jasper says as he tossed the phone on the couch before storming out of the room and out the back door.

I grab my phone and unlock it in excitement. It was like I was a kid again on Christmas morning, and instead of present, I had these text messages that I began to devour.

Hattie Page: Hey there sexy. Heard about you and your girl. I would never do that to you. So let me know if you're interested, because I sure am. You'd be surprised at all the things I could do to you. I'll make you feel good.

Evan Bello: Hey Jasper, does hurting a girl make you feel more like a man? Or is it to compensate for something?

Hattie Page: What are you talking about? This is Hattie. It clearly says so above. Now what do you say? My place is empty. Or how about the back seat of your car? I don't mind which.

Evan Bello: Jasper. Stop. I'm laughing too hard. Besides, I know you are they reason Hattie broke her leg. You're really spoiling our date night, man. We were gonna go mini golfing.

Hattie Page: I'm cancelling our date. So don't show.

Evan Bello: What's going on with you Jasper? Haven't you tortured Hattie enough? She's a sweet, kind girl. She doesn't deserve it.

Hattie Page: No I haven't.

Hattie Page: Shit.

Evan Bello: BUSTED.

Hattie Page: Oh shut up. I'll kick your ass if you show up. Hattie is mine. You can't take her away from me.

Evan Bello: Sounds like someones in love. Should I book a chapel?

Hattie Page: Shut up. That isn't what I meant.

Evan Bello: Look, I get it. Hattie is beautiful. I've known that for years. But if you keep acting like this, she's gonna end up hating you. Oh wait, too late.

Hattie Page: You don't know anything about me. And if you know what's good for you, you'll stay away. I'll kick your ass.

Evan Bello: Why are you obsessed with my ass?

That was the last message, and I couldn't help but laugh. However, when Jasper said I was his, it made my stomach feel unsettled. What did he mean? I didn't want to know though. It's just to creepy.

Hattie Page: Jasper ran off and he's pissed. Good job.

Evan Bello: Good. Wait, how do I know this isn't a trick? You might still be Jasper.

Hattie Page: Good point. Ask me something only I would know.

Evan Bello: Ok, how about...why did I call Hattie last night?

I roll my eyes and begin to type.

Hattie Page: To offer that waitressing job and to ask me out. Duh.

Evan Bello: Hattie! Hey girl. My dude.

Hattie Page: Hey. Sorry about that. I don't know how he got into my phone. It was locked.

Even Bello: I wouldn't be surprised if he knew your password and had his fingerprint set up.

Hattie Page: I didn't think about the fingerprint. If there's more than 3, then he's in it.

Evan Bello: Want me to beat him up.

Hattie Page: Yes.

Evan Bello: Consider it done. I should get back to work. My dad's giving my the side eye right now. I'm supposed to be wiping down the menus.

Hattie Page: Yeah you should get back to that.

Evan Bello: Will do. See you tonight.

I set my phone down as I try to process all the things I had just read. Jasper said I was his. Ew. And Evan said I was beautiful, and that he's known that for years. Was he just saying that to mess with Jasper? Probably. It did tick him off.

Jasper was still outside, and I began to wonder what he was thinking. He was probably trying to come up with a way to get his revenge. He's probably thinking about breaking my other leg, however that would earn him a one way ticket to military school.

Who am I kidding. I'd gladly have two broken legs if that meant I didn't have to see Jasper again.
