Death had bypassed me for others whom I cared about and I wanted to rage against the world at the very injustice of it. Instead I took a path that led me to an old cemetery and an ancient bridge, both of which could have spelled the end for me – and found myself being slowly introduced to a world much closer to what I had been trying to escape than I ever imagined possible. Once there, it was too late to turn around. I knew too much ... and I found myself wanting to see more, to know more, to seek out more – and then I met him. He'd make sure to take me to those places, because to know me, he would have no other choice, even as he fought against his own conscience to do it. The best part? I got to see Death as it really was, not as I'd imagined it to be, and through the eyes of those who had experienced it already.
