Maynor's P.O.V
I held myself back from screaming when I saw that vile woman stab Knightly with a spear and I wished that I could kill her. I knew that it was going to be close to impossible for Knightly to survive that attack and clutched my heart in pain. "What's going on?" I asked myself while looking at Knightly's dead body because I was sure that I hated him with all my heart. I tried to shake that feeling of loss out of my heart and failed miserably in doing so. "Knightly's immortal" I kept saying to myself to calm myself down and I saw Amitiel then looking puzzled at me.
I was just about to tell Amitiel that I was alright when I heard Connor yell "Knigh!" in pain and frowned at him because I thought that he didn't have the right to act like Knightly was his true brother. Connor was just about to run towards Knightly when that vile woman casted a spell to stop him and I wanted to thank her for doing that. I didn't know why but it felt like I was jealous of Connor and my heart was slowly shattering into pieces in realization of that.
I kept trying to suppress my feelings and I was so lost in my thoughts that I got startled when the moon goddess kicked her sister into our direction. That vile woman landed just in front of me and I looked in anger at her when she managed to slowly get up again. My eyes then fell on her face and I was shocked when I recognized her as Lucifer's mother, Selene. "Wasn't she already dead?" I asked myself while looking into her eyes and she in return looked at me as if I was her biggest enemy.
I couldn't understand why Selene hated me and only recognized her because Hades had her pictures all over his walls like some love struck puppy. Lucifer had once told me that his mother died after giving birth to him so you can imagine my surprise when I saw her standing in front of me alive and well. Selene's eyes looked lifeless and the only emotion that I could read from her was anger so knew that someone had dared to bring her back from the dead. "They really shouldn't have brought her back" I said to myself when I sensed how pissed off the moon goddess was and I instantly took a step back with Amitiel when I heard the moon goddess say "I will destroy anyone who dares to come between me and my son Selene".
My eyes widened in surprise when I heard what the moon goddess had said and looked in awe at the crying Micah. Everything suddenly fell into place and I could finally understand why the moon goddess was so lenient towards Micah. And I couldn't help but ask myself then if the moon goddess was behind all of Micah's victories up till now. It looked like Lucifer's mother was thinking about the same thing because I heard the moon goddess then utter while walking menacingly up to her "My son never even once asked for my help Selene and I'm proud to say that everything that he has achieved until today is by his own strength and wits."
Selene growled as response at the moon goddess when she heard her praise her son and the moon goddess then continued with "Your son will never be worthy of praises Selene so go back to from where you came from and make sure to wait for your precious son in hell because he'll be joining you there shortly". The moon goddess then started attacking Selene with spells and that vile woman managed to revive herself quickly each time she was hit by them.
The moon goddess suddenly stopped attacking Selene and I knew that she was trying to trap her sister. Selene conjured a sword when she realized that she had finally gotten a chance to attack the moon goddess and then ran in anger towards her. The moon goddess in return just looked at Selene with a smirk on her face and I couldn't help but wish that they would take their fight somewhere else because it was like Knightly's wolf Star was calling out to me.
I frowned when the moon goddess suddenly pinned Selene down by her head on the ground because I could clearly see that she was playing with her. I then suddenly saw the moon goddess looking intently at Hades and realized that he was the one who had revived Selene. Selene had probably given Hades the key to her revival but who knew how long it would take to find out what it actually was. Knightly was still lying dead and the moon goddess was wasting her time by fighting a dead woman. The moon goddess then suddenly smiled at me and continued attacking Selene with her huge scythe after that. I wasn't even surprised when the vile woman managed to avoid all her attacks and asked myself what the point of all this was.
The moon goddess chuckled each time Selene managed to attack her back and I shook my head at her. I then heard her suddenly say "I'm more powerful than you are Selene so attack me all you want but don't forget that I can get rid of you in just in a blink of an eye". "Then why don't you do it already!" I wanted to yell at the moon goddess and heard her then suddenly say through my mind link "Watch it Maynor or I'll bury next to Selene to make sure that she doesn't come back again". I quickly bowed my head to the moon goddess because I didn't want any trouble and she chuckled as response at me. I thought that the moon goddess had lost her mind and decided that it was best to concentrate on Micah and Knightly from then on.
My eyes widened in shock when I saw Selene suddenly conjure a huge spear and then throw it into Micah's direction while saying "I'll come back for my son even if you bury me a thousand times over Lunar". The moon goddess groaned when she heard what her sister had said and then quickly casted a spell to break the spear into pieces before it even could hit Micah. Selene burst out laughing when she saw the moon goddess so desperately protecting her son and she then yelled "It's painful when your own son is involved isn't it Lunar". The moon goddess just shook her head at her sister and then replied to her with "My son never even once complained about his pain or life to me Selene and he neither needed my protection so shut up before I destroy this world that your son is so desperately clinging onto".
Selene smirked at the moon goddess and I asked myself why the moon goddess hadn't gotten rid of her yet. I then caught her looking at Hades again and I couldn't figure out why she was so interested in him. The moon goddess then conjured a knife and flew in full speed towards Hades. I saw Selene looking in shock at her and I could sense that she was afraid to lose her husband. The moon goddess stabbed Hades the moment she reached him and Selene clutched her heart in pain. Everyone gasped when the moon goddess then tore open Hades chest with her bare hands.
Hades started screaming in pain and people looked away when blood started to ooze out of his chest. We could clearly see Hades beating heart and Lucifer then suddenly appeared next to his mother. I could sense that everyone was waiting to see what was going to happen next and I chuckled when Lucifer yelled "Don't just stand there like a statue mother do something before she kills dad". The moon goddess ignored Lucifer and his mother and I smiled when I saw her reach her hand into Lucifer's chest. It looked like she was looking for something and I couldn't wait to find out what it was. I then saw the moon goddess take something shiny out of Lucifer's chest and I instantly realized that it was a locket. I could sense that the locket was woven in spells and heard Hades then yell while healing again "Give it back Lunar!"
The moon goddess looked at Hades like he was a piece a trash while Lucifer kept egging on his mother to help his father. Selene was looking intently at the locket and I could sense that it was something important. Selene then suddenly changed into her true form and I could see that she had gained dark power after mating with Hades. Her whole body was now covered in hot boiling lava and I could sense that she was out for revenge. The moon goddess was too busy examining the locket to notice what was going on and I was afraid of what might happen if Selene attacked her now.
Micah was still grieving so I knew that he wasn't in the state to help his mother and I didn't know if the moon goddess would appreciate it if we meddled with her fight. I held my breath when I saw Selene disappear in a portal and then appear just behind the moon goddess again. She was just about to yank the locket out of the moon goddess hands when her sister turned around to face her with a huge smile on her face. Selene tried to escape when she realized that the moon goddess had set her up but it was already too late.
The moon goddess grabbed Selene by her throat and then forced her to shift back again. She then uttered while looking straight into her eyes "I know how much you have suffered my dear sister so please forgive me when I do this". Hades then suddenly yelled "No Lunar don't" and tried to break free from the binding spells but Mike tightened his grip on them even more. The moon goddess then burst out laughing and asked Hades "Why are you being so difficult when you know full well that you all have to pay for your sins Hades?"
I then realized that we had forgotten one important thing while mourning and that was the fact that the moon goddess was the creator of all of us so she could end us all when she liked it too. Lucifer then conjured his scythe and ran towards the moon goddess in the hope of saving his mother but the moon goddess just created a barrier around him to prevent him from moving. She then uttered while looking at him "My son will take care of you by himself Lucifer so wait there patiently until he comes to his senses again".
Lucifer started banging with his fist on the barrier and Hades desperately pleaded to the moon goddess to let his wife go but the moon goddess just huffed at them and then crushed the locket that she was holding. Selene looked in shock at her sister and I then realized that locket was the key to her revival. The moon goddess had made sure that her sister wouldn't come back again by destroying the locket and she then said to her slowly disappearing sister "Rest in peace my dear sister, I hope that you won't make the mistake of harming my precious creations or my family in your next life again or you will be otherwise never be born again".
Lucifer fell on his knees when he saw his mother disappear and I uttered "Finally" while looking into Micah's direction. Micah had stopped crying by now and he was gazing at the sky like he didn't have any will to live. I felt sorry for him and asked myself why no one had tried to console him yet. I then suddenly heard Knightly's wolf Star call out to me again and tried to figure out why he was still lingering on earth while his host was already dead.
I didn't even understand why his wolf would reach out to me because I had already decided that I would go back to the underworld seeing how Knightly was now dead and ignored his calls. I failed in creating a bond with Knightly when he was alive despite being his cousin so what was the point in him calling out to now I asked myself and growled when I saw Connor trying to approach Knightly again. I then suddenly heard Star yell "Maynor!" through my mind link and it was like someone had hit my head with a hammer.
My headache was so immense that I couldn't even keep my eyes open and the last thing that I saw before losing consciousness was, Micah's smiling face. "That can't be true" I said to myself while falling on the ground and Amitiel tried to catch me. I don't know what happened after that but I suddenly got a feeling like someone was watching me and opened my eyes again. I got startled when I realized that I was now in my five year old self's body and tried to wake up from my awful dream because that was the worse time of my life.
I realized that I was at the Silverstone's lake and I knew exactly why I was there. I had seen my parent's fight once again and I escaped to my favorite place in the whole world when my father Agiel started beating my birth father Lucas again. I had already realized that my father Agiel wasn't happy with a mate like Lucas because there had never been a peaceful day in my life. I couldn't count how many times I had seen my father Agiel with other women or men and was tired of the pathetic crying of my father Lucas. I could sense that my father Lucas had gained power through mating and hated him for not using it to fight back.
He could have killed my father Agiel a long time ago if he wanted to end his suffering but my father told me once that he deserved a life full of pain for betraying his family. I never understood what my father meant by that and I didn't bother asking him about it either. I always asked myself if my uncle Cade was leading a happy and peaceful life with his family. I always imagined how it would be like to live with them instead when things became unbearable at home. I can still remember what my father said to me when I asked him if I could visit my uncle Cade and his family one day.
We were sitting at the dinner table and an unknown woman was clinging onto my father Agiel like a leach while my father Lucas ignored her like she was some kind of plant. I always wondered how my father Lucas had managed to accept the constant cheating of his mate throughout the years while it bothered me immensely. I asked my father then when I can couldn't take the constant giggling of the woman anymore "Can I go visit my uncle Cade at the Silverstone mansion father, it seems like he has a son my age and I would really like to get to know him. He'll maybe become friends with me because we're cousins and I won't have to play alone anymore from now on".
My father quickly stood up when he heard my question and then replied to me with "The only time you will set foot on that ground is when you're about to slaughter them Maynor and don't forget that they see us as their enemies. They will probably kill you when they catch you so stay away from that pack and that mutt". My father left the table with that woman after that and I looked stunned at my father Lucas. My father Lucas then stood up and said "The Silverstone's are our family no matter what your father says Maynor, just remember that they will never turn you away in your time of need".
I just nodded with my head at my father Lucas because I was still torn by what my father Agiel had said and casted a spell to take me to the lake. "Does my uncle really hate me enough to kill me?" I asked myself while looking at the lake and I then suddenly heard the giggling of children. The children were running towards the lake and I quickly hid behind a tree to see who they were. I then saw a boy who looked a lot like me jump into the lake and instantly realized that he was my cousin.
More children joined him in the lake and I gazed at them from behind the tree because I was afraid to approach them. I finally mustered some courage after a while and was just about to approach my cousin when I heard him call out to a boy with "Brother!" I quickly hid behind the tree again and tried to sense if the other boy was also my uncle Cade's son. I frowned when I sensed that he didn't have any blood relation with my uncle and felt betrayed because I thought that I was replaced by someone else. I could feel the bond that my cousin had with the boy and felt unwanted. It was like someone had taken away my safe haven and I didn't know what to do about it.
I left the lake after that and didn't visit it like for a month. I decided to go back to the lake once again when I couldn't bear to look at the battered body of my father Lucas anymore and sighed in relief when I saw that no one was there. I plopped down on the ground as soon as I reached the lake and started crying while thinking about my father Lucas. I wished that I had the power to kill my father Agiel or the courage to ask my uncle Cade for help and got startled when I saw a woman suddenly sitting next to me. I quickly stood up and then asked the woman while wiping my tears away "Who the hell are you?"
The woman chuckled at me and then uttered while getting up too "It doesn't matter who I am Maynor and don't be afraid. I only approached you because I could sense your pain and thought that I should help you seeing how I have a son your age too". I instantly sensed the menacing aura around the woman and quickly took a step back to avoid any contact with her but she quickly grabbed my hand. I tried to break free from her but she was stronger than me. I then started casting spells on the woman so I could escape but the spells didn't have any effect on her because they were still weak.
"Let me go" I yelled at the woman and then added while kicking her "Or I'll call my father Agiel". I looked in shock at the woman when she then replied to me with "I already masked your presence Maynor so your father won't even know where you are, now stay still because I need something from you". The woman then stuck her hand into my chest and I screamed in pain. My whole body started burning in pain the moment the woman touched my heart and then I uttered while looking in fear at her "Please don't kill me". The woman chuckled at me and then replied to me with "You have a strong and dark heart Maynor. My son will certainly survive at least ten years with a heart like yours".
I started squirming the moment I heard what the woman had said and she then yelled "Stay still or I'll cut off your head first Maynor". The woman was just about to yank my heart out of my chest when a grey wolf grabbed her by her shoulder from behind. The grey wolf looked big for his age and I could sense how powerful he was. The woman suddenly let me go and then uttered before disappearing "Your time will also come for ruining my chances today Knightly Silverstone, I'll make sure of it".
I looked in shock at the wolf when I realized that he was my cousin and I wanted to cast a spell to leave but I was too weak to do so. I fell on my knees when my wound refused to heal and the grey wolf then suddenly ran into the direction of some trees. A boy then ran from behind a tree in shorts and I realized that it was Knightly even though my vision was blurry. He quickly helped me to lie down and then said while examining my wound "It looks like she has cursed you".
I groaned and tried to get up when I remembered what my father Agiel had said and Knightly pushed me down again. He then asked me while putting pressure on my wound "Are we maybe, related or something because I could sense you the last time you were here. I have been waiting here for you since that day but you didn't come back and I'm glad that I could make it here on time today or you would have been dead by now".
I didn't know how to reply to Knightly so said to him "Did anyone ever tell you that you talk too much Knightly Silverstone, can't you see I'm dying here so shut up and let me die in peace" Knightly frowned suddenly at me and I heard his wolf call out to me then with "Cousin!" I groaned when Knightly then asked me while smiling "What's your name cousin?" I had then no other choice than to answer his question with "Why should I tell you my name when I'm about to die, you mutt". Knightly burst out laughing and then said to me while poking with his finger on my cheek "We don't let our family die from where I came from cousin".
"My name is Maynor Agiel so stop calling me cousin" I yelled back at Knightly when I couldn't take his constant poking on my cheek anymore and instantly squirmed in pain. Knightly looked in concern at me and then said while getting up "I'm going to call my father now Maynor I'm sure that he can heal you". I quickly grabbed Knightly's had and then said to him while looking into his eyes "Please don't call your father Knightly, my parents don't know that I'm here and I don't want to get in trouble for talking to you". Knightly looked puzzled at me first and I chuckled when he then said "Then the only way to heal you is by praying to the moon goddess".
"Why would the moon goddess help me?" I asked Knightly and I shook my head when he then replied to me with "Because I will give her something in return". I then said to Knightly while giving him a pat on his cheek "Go ahead then golden boy let's see if the moon goddess listens to your request". Knightly smiled broadly at me and then eagerly closed his eyes. He started praying intensely after that and I then realized how happy I would be if I had a brother like him.
I was looking intently at Knightly and looked in shock at the beautiful woman that suddenly appeared behind him. I instantly realized that she was the moon goddess and started roughly shaking Knightly to tell him that his prayers had worked. The moon goddess smiled at me while Knightly slowly opened his eyes and I then motioned him to look behind him. Knightly quickly jumped up when he saw the moon goddess and he then greeted her with "Hi moon goddess".
The moon goddess smiled at Knightly and I could sense that they had a bond. She then asked Knightly while stroking his head "What can I do for you today Knightly Silverstone?" Knightly immediately replied to the moon goddess with "I like you to heal my cousin Maynor today moon goddess". The moon goddess asked Knightly then while smiling "And what will I get in return for helping him?" Knightly chuckled at the moon goddess and then uttered "I promise to keep all your precious creations safe when I grow up moon goddess and that my brother Maynor and I will always work together for the greater good".
The moon goddess nodded at Knightly and then asked me "And what will you give me in return Maynor Agiel?" I smiled at the moon goddess when I realized that she knew me and replied to her then with "I promise to help Knightly fulfill all your wishes moon goddess". The moon goddess then uttered before disappearing "You two will remember what you have promised when the time is right and I hope that you two will then work together to create a balance between good and evil in this world".
The only thing that I remember after that is that my father banned me from visiting earth again and he appointed several instructors to keep me busy in the underworld while he himself thought me how to influence people. I don't know why I had forgotten about our promise or our meeting and started crying when I realized that it was already late. I finally knew why Star was calling out to me and realized that I already had a bond with Knightly. I then suddenly heard Amitiel ask me "Are you alright Maynor?" and noticed that I was still standing on the same spot as before. I quickly tried to assess what was going on and saw that Connor was still on his way to Knightly.
It seemed like the moon goddess had used this situation to remind me of what I had promised her and I ran towards Connor when I saw that he was about to touch Knightly's body. "Don't touch my brother" I said to Connor while pushing him roughly back and he growled as response at me. I then suddenly heard Micah laugh and I thought that he had finally gone crazy. I looked in fear at him and got startled when I saw him wipe his tears away while smiling. He then uttered while wiping his hand on his pants "What a waste of my precious tears".
Knightly then suddenly sat up too and said to me while giving me a pat on my back "Welcome home brother". I couldn't hold back my tears anymore and pulled Knightly in for a hug. "I'm sorry for not being there for you Knigh" I said to Knightly and heard him then reply to me with "It wasn't your fault Maynor, it's all in the past now but I could certainly use your help in the future". I then realized that the moon goddess wanted me to manage the underworld and I uttered while sighing in relief "I'll help you keep the moon goddesses precious creations safe no matter what Knigh". Knightly replied to me with "I'll appreciate it brother" and I shook my head at Micah when he then uttered while stroking Knightly's and my head "Come on boys, all the pieces of the puzzle are finally on their rightful place so it's time to show the world what I'm made of".
