Erika's POV
I could tell as soon as we went into the police station Jake was aggravated the police officer was about to touch my shoulder trying to reassure me that it's gonna be okay but Jake wouldn't let him.
PO: we'll maybe have a trial by next week on Tuesday only if you are correct about where he is.
E: I know I'm correct, Dennis Costell watch out he's a sneaky man so don't put anything on the news or in the news paper. I might've only been eight years old but I know how he works I just didn't know what was right and what was wrong at the moment.
PO: I assure you we will do everything we can.
E: thank you Officer
PO: it's just what I do.
I grabbed Jakes hand and we left. When we got outside I hugged him tight.
E: thank you so much Jake
J: no problem.
E: I feel so great. I need to throw a party my moms gonna be so proud.
J: how about we wait on the party just until after the trial.
E: I'm just so-
Jakes POV
Erika grabbed my face and kissed my cheek. I turned around and rubbed my face trying to make the red go away.
J: *laughs* better?
E: I've been better since we walked out of that place.
J: let's go somewhere.
E: where?
J: uuuuum how about we go to the movies
E: are you asking me on a date?
J: um- I- you
E: because if you are my answer is yes
J: okay then yeah I am.
Erika grabbed my hand and we started walking to my car.
E: so what movie do you wanna see?
J: see the problem is I've never been on a date
E: but-
J: she wasn't really into that stuff.
E: oh well I've never been on a date either
J: this should be interesting
We got into my car and went to the theater.
J: do you know what movie you want to see?
E: well not romance their boring.
She is literally perfect.
E: um comedy?
J: yeah let's see what they have.
We went to the movie and I ended up buying two tickets to see the movie Night School. That's what they guys do right? Buy the stuff on the first date?
Each time a funny part would come on when Erika would laugh I just looked at her. After today it felt good to hear her laugh. To hear her be happy.
*after movie @ Erikas*
E: thank you for tonight and with my dad situation
J: of course I'll see you tomorrow.
E: hey um Sunny has a doctors appointment tomorrow and my car is still in the shop. Could you give me a ride?
J: yeah I'll see you tomorrow morning. What time?
E: what time do you usually wake up?
J: um I'm usually late to school
E: well how about 7:45
J: school starts that early?
E: yeah it does
J: okay I can do that
E: cool so I'll see you in the morning?
J: yeah.
I kissed Erika's cheek and she went inside while I walked back to my car.
When I got in my car I put my head on the steering wheel
J: don't screw this up Jake, she's perfect, better than every girl I've ever met.
I put my head up and drove home.

J: MOM I'M HOME
Pam:....
J: MOM
I put my keys on the table by the door and put my backpack down.
J: DAD
Pam: JAKE GET OUT HURRY!!!!
I ran where I heard my moms voice which was her office and she was on the floor and a guy was hovering over her trying to get her top off.
J: get off her NOW!
The guy got up and punched me and I tackled him to the ground.
Pam's POV
I grabbed my husbands gun from is safe and pointed it at the random guy and fired but I didn't shoot him....I shot my Jake.
The guy ran out and I called an ambulance.
After I called them and just held Jake.
Pam: oh my baby I'm so sorry. It's gonna be okay it's gonna be okay I'm gonna fix it.
Erika's POV
As I was walking up to my room I noticed I still had Jakes jacket on.
E: Momma
An: yes dear
E: I went out with someone tonight I'll tell you who later but I never gave his jacket back so I was wondering if I could go give it to him he doesn't live that far maybe 2 blocks.
An: if you're staying somewhere don't forget to let me know?
E: what?!
An: live a little be a teenager break the rules or something.
E: I'm not going to break the rules mom I'm gonna go now
An: okay
I left the house and was walking down the street when I saw an ambulance and Jake on a stretcher.
I started running.
E: what happened
The nurses wouldn't answer me.
E: Pam what happened?
Pam: there was a guy trying to r-rape me and Jake fought him off and I grabbed Greg's gun and pointed it at the guy but I missed.
E: oh my god. How did you miss were your eyes freaking closed?!
Pam: I-
I went over to the ambulance
E: can I come with him?
Nurse: what's the relation?
E: girlfriend
I know I'm not but if I said friend they wouldn't let me in.
Nurse: sure hurry
I put Jakes jacket on and got in. I immediately grabbed his hand.
Nurse: how old is Jake
E: 18
Nurse: his birthday
E: um
He told me this gosh dang it
E: January 17
Nurse: does he have any illnesses?
E: no
I felt Jake squeeze my hand back
E: oh my god
Nurse: what
E: I thought he was dead but he squeezed my hand back.
Nurse: that's great
I looked at Jake he looked so pale
Nurse: Jake do you know your birthday?
J: January 17th
Nurse: Do you know how old you are?
J: 14
I put my head down
Nurse: this is normal ma'am don't worry.
I took a deep breath and she continued asking Jake questions
Nurse: Jake do you know who's holding your hand?
