"Lilli!" I yelled throughout the forest.
She said she was here... she said she was here...
"Lilli!" I screamed.
"Kaytlyn!" I heard from afar.
I rushed in that direction.
She had texted me saying help about twenty minutes after she walked out of the dining room.
She couldn't have gotten too far, I knew that. I know that.
When I asked her where she was, and she only replied with the word 'forest', I knew that it was something bad.
Like, maybe even Python bad.
I don't know what I was expecting.
I continued running when I heard a bloodcurdling scream, then I began sprinting.
It was Lilli's.
I had made my way through tree branches, leaves and dirt when I found the source of the screams and the yells.
"Let go of her." I said sternly.
Kaleb looked at me with darkness filling his eyes.
"You don't want to do this, you never wanted to do this, Kaleb. So let her go." I stated, slight fear laced in my voice.
Lilli widened her eyes and looked behind me.
I was confused for a brief moment, but then I knew what she meant.
I spun around and drop kicked the guy right in the head, knocking him right out.
Kaleb looked down at his gang member with worry in his eyes.
Oh look, he does have more than two emotions.
Kaleb looked at me.
"It's okay, let her go." I said, trying to sound calm.
He glanced back and fourth between me, the guy on the ground, and Lilli.
He hesitantly, very hesitantly, let her go.
Lilli rushed over to me.
"If you want to get back alive, you're gonna have to fight me." Kaleb said, darkness filling his eyes once again.
"Me?" I questioned.
He nodded, cracking his knuckles.
"Don't." Lilli whispered in my ear.
I paused for a moment.
I looked at Lilli, then at Kaleb.
"Last one standing, wins." I stated.
Kaleb nodded with a smirk.
Lilli backed up, rushing away from us.
"Lilli? Where are you-," I went to say, but a fist was thrown at my eye.
That's gonna leave a bruise.
I went and jump-kicked him, he toppled backwards, but refused to fall.
He came running at me, but I dodged the hit.
Let the fight begin...
~~~
We both had fought until we dropped. I got it pretty good. But I'd call it a solid tie.
And he was still out, on the ground, laying there, lifeless.
I watched every breath that his unconscious body took as I stood up.
I fought him.
I fell slightly fell to the side, my eyes were going heavy.
But I began to walk back anyways, trying my best to keep my balance.
Tree after tree, I walked past, they all looked familiar, so I knew that I was on the right track. But I had ran much further than I thought.
I eventually found the fence leading to the backyard of the gangs house.
I climbed up the white, painted wood and hopped over, landing on my feet.
I was hoping that Lilli was here, I didn't want to go back out and look in the forest.
Then suddenly, one after one, a bunch of the guys rushed outside.
They were asking me hundreds of thousands of questions, each and every one of them.
"Shut up!" I yelled at them before squeezing my way through the group and into the house.
"Kay, are you good?" Darren asked on my way inside.
"Fuck off." I replied. Walking past him and further into the house.
I just wanted to go and shower.
So that's what I did.
I headed up to my room, Lilli was waiting there.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
I nodded, not wanting to talk to anybody and I headed straight for the bathroom.
When I went in and I looked in the mirror, I saw bruise after bruise, cut after cut.
I pulled Hunters grey adidas shirt off, to reveal more purple and blue bruises.
I sucked in a breath of air.
What if he comes back for me?
After I was completely done getting ready, I headed back into the bedroom part of the room. My ribs hurt like hell, so I walked slowly and carefully. But I didn't want Lilli to notice anything.
I had put on Noah's parkour hoodie with my black booty shorts, the same as the blue ones, except black.
Lilli was sitting at the desk doing something on her phone.
I sat down onto the bed, Lilli just stared at me.
"What?" I asked.
"You might wanna cover up that black eye..." she said, trailing off.
I shook my head,
"No, these are my battle wounds."
Lilli sighed.
"The boys need us downstairs." She said.
I nodded,
"They're probably gonna ask about me; do me a favour and tell them nothing."
She frowned,
"Aren't you coming?"
I shook my head,
"Hell no. I would end up strangling one of them."
She let out a breathy chuckle, then stood up and walked out of the room.
I sighed.
I really did beat him.
I smirked at the thought.
The bedroom door then opened once again, and Lilli stood there.
"They said if you don't come down, they will move the meeting up here." She told me.
I rolled my eyes and groaned,
"Tell them to-,"
"I am not your messenger! Just come downstairs." She interrupted.
I rolled my eyes before hesitantly standing up and following her downstairs.
We walked through the hallway... into the kitchen... and into the dining room.
There were few gasps, most of them looked at me with worry.
I backed up and sat in the window.
Lilli sat beside me.
Noah dropped his head into his hands.
Kyle looked at me with worry.
Everyone else just kind of looked worried.
But Dylan looked disappointed.
"You didn't try to hide the bruises?" Kyle asks.
"Why would I?" I asked.
There was a little pause, but then Lilli broke it,
"You guys didn't hide the fact that-,"
"Enough!" Darren interrupted.
Everyone began arguing and yelling at each other. I stayed quiet.
Hunter looked at me with sorrow,
"Everybody, shut the hell up!" he yelled.
Every single person immediately stopped talking and looked towards Hunter.
"All of this arguing and fighting, that is why Kaytlyn ended up like this in the first place!" He yelled.
I gave him a slight smile as if I'm saying 'thanks'.
These bruises are my battle wounds, they are there to remind me that I tied with someone twice my size. And that's why I didn't cover them up.
