I GASPED AS I sat up, panting heavily as images of the nightmare flashed vividly in my mind while I was asleep. "What happened, Yuqi?" nag-aalalang tanong ni Lucas at nilapitan ako. Napayakap lang ako ng mahigpit sa kaniya.
"It's fine baby, I'm here. It's okay now." Lucas whispered as he wrapped his arms around me. I felt safe.
It took me a while to realize what he said. Biglang lumakas ang kabog ng dibdib ko.
"I'm in love with you, Yuqi."
I slowly gazed at Lucas and I saw his soft smile. I blinked my eyes repeatedly. It's like my mind isn't processing.
Lucas gently caressed my cheek as he directly looked into my eyes. "It's okay if you don't say it now. I can wait. I just want you to know that."
Lucas cupped my face and squished my cheeks. Narinig kong tumawa siya ng mahina so I gave him a confused look.
"I. . ." he said then he pressed his lips on my forehead.
"love. . ." my heart raced when he brushed his nose with mine.
He leaned his face closely and smiled. ". . .you."
We stared into each other's eyes, not breaking eye contact for one second. However, Lucas eventually does break it when he glanced over to my lips.
