"Ugh" Abby groans "Why do I have NO food"
Finally after debating with herself Abby decides to get up and go to the grocery store. When she's in there she sees the last person she wants to make eye contact with, her ex boyfriend, Jacob. She quickly turns around and spots a, not so ugly, guy standing next to her, she quickly taps his shoulder
"Please help me, I know this sounds weird but that's my ex coming up behind me and I need a way to avoid him, please pretend to be my boyfriend, I'll pay you" She begs, he laughs like she just told a joke and hugs her, whispering a few facts about him so she knows
"Oh, hey Abby, who is this?" Jacob says finally approaching the two
"Oh Jacob, this is my boyfriend, Cody." She smiles, grabbing his hand
"He looks familiar" Jacob looks him up and down
"I play baseball for the LA Dodgers" Cody smiles
"That's cool, man, but uhm Abby? Can I talk to you?" Jacob kinda whispers
"I'm with my boyfriend, I don't need to talk to you" She tells him
"It'll take five minutes" He begs
"She's busy man, leave her alone" Cody defends kind of stepping in between Abby and Jacob, finally he gets the point and leaves
"Thank you so much" She sighs a breath she didn't even know she was holding, I owe you
"How about instead of paying me, you let me take you on an actual date instead of a fake one in the grocery store" He smirks
"Well, I guess it couldn't hurt" She laughs
"Send me your address and I'll pick you up at eight" He says handing her his phone, she enters her number and then adds her address
"See you later, Cody" She smiles

Let's just say, the date went amazing as well as the second one and all those afterwards. Abby and Cody have been dating for over a year now and she's been nothing but supportive and happy even after being thrown into the crazy world of baseball.
Who knew an ex could lead you to your forever person in a local grocery store?
