"I can't believe she's really gone."
"Who?" Asks my mom
"Melanie."
"What why?" Asks my mom
"After we left here we went home. Melanie found a letter laying on the front steps. It was from Leah. She basically apologized for sleeping with me. Then she asked if Mel would go visit her. It's like that letter made her go crazy. She just went off on me. She ran out of bed and packed her things. I begged her to stay but she wasn't having that."
"Well have you tried reaching out to her?" Asks my mom
"What kind of question is that? Of course I did. I tried texting, emails, and calling her. Nothing worked she doesn't want to be bothered with me."
"I feel so bad. I hate seeing you like this. There's something I have to tell you." Says my mom
"What is it?"
"Remember when I invited you guys over for lunch?" Asks my mom
"Yeah why?"
"Well I kind of told her that she should leave you. I didn't want her to end up like me. I think I might have scared her away." Confesses my mom
"Why would you do something like that? So you don't want to see your son happy."
"I do want you to be happy. I also know that you can be too much at times. I know you cheat on her. You probably beat on her too." Says my mom
"Did she tell you that?"
"No I asked her and she was afraid to tell me. I knew she was lying. I could see it in her eyes. I really like Melanie but you need to let her go. You're no good for her. I hate to admit it but you're just like your no good father. I can't witness a young girl go through the same thing." Says my mom
"I wish you would have stayed out of it. Man I have to go."
I grab my keys off the table and leave.
That shit just pissed me off. 😒

Melanie's Pov 💁
Staying in a hotel has been so relaxing these last few days. No one knows where I am. Not even Lena. I almost slipped up and told her. It's just better if I keep to myself.
Right now I'm getting ready to enjoy the sun. The weather is beautiful out. It's the perfect day to sit out by the pool.
I have on a pink two piece bikini. Some Michael Kors gold sandals and hoop earrings.
I grab a coverup for my swimsuit. It's sheer so you can see right through it.
I grab my bag and make sure I have everything.
I head out of my room and close the door behind me.
I step into the elevator and push the first floor.
When I get outside the pool is packed. I find a lounge chair and make myself comfortable.
I only closed my eyes for a few seconds when my phone went off. I looked and saw that it was Marques. He can go to voicemail. 😒
I turn my phone off and close my eyes.
"Why aren't you in the pool?" I hear a voice ask
I open my eyes and see Shamoy standing over me.
He's shirtless it looks like he just finished a swim. Little water droplets are falling down his six pack abs.
"I would much rather relax in this lounge chair."
"You should join me in the water." Says Shamoy
"Okay."
He doesn't have to ask me twice.

"I had a great time."
"Me too. But who says it has to end? All that swimming has me starving. Want to grab something to eat?" Asks Shamoy
"I would love to. I just need to change first."
We exchanged numbers and give him back his phone.
"See you later." Says Shamoy
I wave to him and step inside my room.
I took a 10 minute shower. I washed my hair in the shower.
I grabbed a towel and found something to wear.

I stood in the bathroom mirror admiring my outfit. I had on a white crop top that says Cali on it some light blue acid high waisted jeans with rips in them. I throw on a pair of white vans. I grab my gold chain and put it on. Shamoy and I spent the entire day swimming. So now my hair is extremely curly. I just added a little gel and let it air dry.
I apply some clear lip gloss.
I grab my phone and bag.
I hear a knock on the door.
I open it and see Shamoy looking good as ever. His hair is now in two braids. He has on a bucket hat. A plain white tee and some saggy black true religion jeans.
"You look beautiful." Says Shamoy looking me up and down.
"You look good yourself."
I close the door and we walk down the hall.
"So where we going to eat?"
"It's a surprise." Says Shamoy
"Okay."
He takes my hand and leads me into the elevator.
When we finally get to our destination I was more than thrilled. It's this nice restaurant and club all in one. The best part is that it's right next to the beach. I can see people dancing on the sand. It kind of reminded me of Step Up Revolution.
We walk over to the hostess stand. She walks us to a table. She gives us a menu. We order her drinks and she walks off.
A few minutes later our waiter comes back with drinks.

"I'm stuffed I never ate so much in my life."
"Right me either." Says Shamoy laughing
"Let's walk along the beach."
"Sounds good to me. Then I can walk off some of this food." Says Shamoy
He calls the waiter over so we can pay.
She comes back with the bill.
Shamoy offered to pay for the bill. He left a tip and we headed out.
I was a little surprised when he put my hand in his. I didn't mind though.
We walked along the water. I took my shoes off and felt the sand under my feet.
"So how long are you staying at the hotel?" Asks Shamoy
"I have no idea to be honest. I just got out of an abusive relationship. No one knows that I'm here. I just needed to clear my head. I need to look for an apartment. I'll deal with that later."
"Damn what happened?" Asks Shamoy
"Well my boyfriend had some anger issues. Whenever he was angry he would beat my ass. It wasn't a slap either. I'm talking about a beat down. He would fight me like a man. I remember one time he found out about me dancing with some guy at the club. He flipped out and slapped my ass around the room until his arm got tired. After awhile I just blacked out. When I woke up my face looked like I got hit with a bat."
"I can't believe someone would do that to you. A nice girl like you doesn't deserve that." Says Shamoy
"Thanks at least someone thinks that. I'm not even finished."
"There's more?" Asks Shamoy
"Yeah. He cheated on me with my bestfriend. At first I thought I could forget about what happened. One day I realized this is no way to live. I deserve better than that. So I packed up my things and moved here."
"Wow you've been through a lot. If I was your man you wouldn't have to worry about me cheating on you. I would never put my hands on a girl. No matter what the situation is. Putting your hands on a female does not make you a man. Your boy is a fuck nigga. Let me catch him slipping one day. He gon get fucked up." Says Shamoy
I couldn't even say anything. I just stared at him.
"Sorry ma I got carried away." Says Shamoy starting to blush. ☺️
"No don't apologize. That's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. Here you are trying to defend me and we haven't even known each other that long. Where have you been my whole life?"
"What can I say I'm a lover not a fighter." Says Shamoy with a sly smirk on his face.
"Boy you so crazy."

"Today was perfect. I haven't been this happy in a long time. Thank you for everything."
"You're welcome beautiful." Says Shamoy
I was about to go inside. But something made me walk back out. I don't know what came over me but I kissed him. He kissed me back and pulled me into his arms.
Before I know it were tonguing each other down. I had to pull away before things get heated.
"Damn ma." Was all Shamoy said touching his lips.
"Goodnight."
"Night." Says Shamoy
I watch him walk down the hall before closing the door.
I laid my head against my door.
Do I regret kissing him? Hell no his lips were so soft. What a great way to end my night.
