spooky season 🎃👻🖤👻🎃👻🖤👻🎃

Lisa watched as the large glowing sphere rose slowly into the dull morning sky, just over the volcano, casting sunbeams in every direction while it illuminated the small town. She stared out the large, glass panes as the colors made by the rising sun changed, growing more vivid with the passing time, making the sky more radiant as it climbed higher and higher into the sky. But as beautiful as the morning was, Lisa had a feeling that today wouldn't go so well.

She let out a yawn before bringing up her white mug of French vanilla coffee up to her plump lips, taking a small sip of the hot liquid. She didn't get much sleep last night, especially with the thought of her, knowing that they're both in the very same building. The chances were extremely high that they'd bump into each other somewhere and there was no doubt she'd see her on the day of the wedding.

The blonde sighed and finished up her coffee before changing into her casual fit. She wore a simple, white shirt that she had tucked into her light blue jeans. She tied her white Chuck Taylor's tightly on her feet, before grabbing her leather jacket and heading out.

Lisa closed her door and leaned her back on it, waiting for Jennie to head out. She was meant to find Jennie and hang out with her today, since she wasn't allowed to see her wife-to-be the day before the wedding or even a few hours before the wedding.

There was a sudden click of a door to the right of her. Lisa sighed, turning her head towards the sound, expecting that it was Jennie who had walked out.

But she was wrong.

Lisa watched as Chaeyoung looked her door with her keycard. The blonde's breath hitched as she gripped the leather jacket in her hands tighter and tighter. She couldn't think. She didn't know what to do nor was she prepared. Lisa just watched her as her bright red hair falls from her ear, watching as she tucked it back. She was struggling with her keycard or something, Lisa noticed. The door wouldn't lock. The younger girl looked over her features. She seemed more mature, now. She even felt as if she was looking at a stranger. Chaeyoung was dressed in her cute black shorts with a pretty blue top. Her make up wasn't extravagant, as always, but she still managed to look beautiful either way.

Lisa almost smiled. But she stopped as as Chaeyoung turned around as soon as she had gotten her door to lock.

Chaeyoung's eyes widened. She even blocked a few times to see if she was hallucinating. When she found out she wasn't, she just stared for a brief moment, the same as her. She was nervous, but all her emotions came in like a rollercoaster. She felt angry, looking at her. She felt sad.

So she didn't falter and just took her eyes off of Lisa and walked right passed her heading out into the elevator.

Lisa was left stunned. She felt like she hasn't been breathing for a while. With a sigh, she turned a bit to watch Chaeyoung walk away from her and into the elevator. Her heart pounded in her chest, ringing in her ears as she watched the elevator doors shut and she could no longer see Chaeyoung anymore.

"Fuck," Lisa cursed, turning to face her door before banging her head against it once in anger. She pressed her head against the white wooden door and closed her eyes in frustration.

Unbeknownst to Lisa, the moment the elevator doors had shut, Chaeyoung had placed a hand over her mouth in an attempt to block her sobs from coming out as her tears ran down her face.

Both of them were hurting and they didn't know what to do about it.

"Hey."

"Hey?" Jennie says looking up from her seat, "You good?"

The hotel lobby was busy and almost packed with people who were mostly trying to make reservations, checking in, or just making complaints. The chatter that floated in the air was a bit overwhelming, especially since the morning was just starting.

"Yeah."

Jennie stood up and checked her up in down just in case. Lisa wore a tired expression as she watched Jennie look at her for the moment. As much as she wanted her to stop staring, she didn't have the energy to so she just waited. Jennie felt that she didn't want to talk about it just yet, so she let it go for the moment and started walking only to have Lisa in pursuit. Their first plan of the day was to have breakfast at this local café near the city. It was a large city. It seemed even bigger with that gigantic volcano right next to the city. Lisa could've stared it all day, but her brain was too occupied right now.

She couldn't stop thinking about her. How she ran into her. How she just walked away. She felt unaccomplished and empty. But she guessed that's what she deserved. It was her fault things were like this. She knew that. And now, she couldn't even begin on how she could possibly fix this.

The moment arrived at the cafe, the two of them ordered their food and beverages before sitting down in a booth near the glass windows. Lisa slumped in her seat before looking up at Jennie who was currently occupied in staring at her with a questionable expression.

"Okay, so what's your problem?" Jennie asked her.

Lisa sat up and sighed, "It's good."

"Well, it's obviously not, so tell me what's up."

The blonde took a deep breath and looked at her, "I ran into Chaeyoung today."

The brunette's eyebrows rose the moment she heard those words. She leaned in a bit, "So, what happened?"

"Nothing." Lisa sighed, rolling her eyes, "Nothing happened. Literally nothing. We saw each other and she just walked away. Just like that."

"That's tough." Jennie smirked and let out a laugh, "I can't believe she ignored you."

"Ignored me?"

"Yeah. I mean, it sounds like she ignored you." Jennie jutted her face out closer to her.

"No, no, no... She noticed me..." Lisa said, furrowing her eyebrows, "She just walked away."

"Honey, that's called ignoring you."

The blonde let out a frustrating sigh, "That really hurts."

"Well, that's what comes in the package after everything that's happened."

"Ugh, don't remind me."

"Anyway, cheer up." Jennie says, taking a sip of her coffee, "I'm getting married tomorrow. Let's make the most of what we have before I become betrothed."

"Ew, don't say that word." The blonde gags, "It makes you sound old."

Jisoo and Chaeyoung had a fun time today before the older girl would become officially taken forever until death do they part. The spent the whole day exploring Jeju Island, taking pretty pictures by the sea, in cute little restaurants and even going to a puppy café.

Jisoo couldn't stop talking about how she was so excited to marry Jennie. She couldn't stop herself from talking about every little detail her wedding dress had and how she was so nervous to walk up during the wedding. The older girl was grateful for Chaeyoung as she spent her day with her, even though she knew that something was troubling her. She also knew that she didn't want to talk about it as much, knowing that she hid her troubles with a smile on her face.

It was twelve a.m. at night and Chaeyoung's tiredness made her hang limp like wet laundry on a cold still day. She felt like every muscle is giving into gravity. What she wanted was to sleep, a nice warm bed and a solid night of dreams. But her brain wouldn't let me. She had chaos echoing in her brain.

It didn't help that she was a little bit drunk, too, since Jisoo told her that they should get drunk a bit to lighten the mood when it got darker in the evening, but Chaeyoung had drank three times more than the older girl did. She couldn't help it. She wanted to erase everything she knew for the moment and decided to have a good time instead.

So when they arrived at the hotel, Jisoo and Chaeyoung parted their ways in the lobby when she had seen that the younger girl wasn't as drunk anymore and she wanted to go to the bathroom. Jisoo headed up the elevator as Chaeyoung waited in the bathroom. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. She still had some strips of confetti in her hair and noticed some glitter on her the side of her face.

Chaeyoung sighed and pushed herself out of the bathroom, almost not wanting to head up to her room. But, eventually, she decided to, only to get herself into the comforter of her bed.

The red haired girl stepped into the elevator and sighed, listening to the light elevator music playing above her. She had a headache and she felt drowsiness come over her, due to some of the alcohol in her system. She wasn't too drunk. Not enough to seem like she was completely wasted and could barely walk. She was fine. She just felt tired, is all.

When the elevator doors parted, she watched her white shoes carry her to her room, but before she could reach her door, she ran into her again.

Chaeyoung looked up and stared at her with an unreadable expression. She watched as Lisa tried to swipe her card into her door, but she kept missing the slot. She had her head pressed against the flat of the door, almost as if it was balancing her as she attempted to unlock her door.

The red haired girl could tell that she was drunk, too, as she watched her state. The younger girl sighed and gave up dropping her keycard onto the hard carpet. Chaeyoung watched her shake her head and kneel down to pick it back up the moment she had dropped it.

But Lisa stayed their for an extra second. with her hands gripping the keycard, she noticed a pair of white shoes standing in front of her. She was almost afraid to look up and see who it is, hoping it was Jisoo or Jennie, but as soon as she stood up and looked at her face, she stopped breathing.

Lisa stared at Chaeyoung with her eyes widening each second as she raised her eyebrows. She almost couldn't tell it was her due to the alcohol in her system. But, when she did, Lisa had forgotten the language she spoke, letting her lips part slightly.

The blonde sighed and shook her head, remembering how Chaeyoung had ignored her this morning, thinking that she didn't want to talk to her. So, she turned away from her and tried at her door again.

But, she stopped fiddling with the handle as soon as she her the other girl scoff.

"That's it?" Chaeyoung let out a dry laugh, "So, you finally see me after two years and you have absolutely nothing to say to me?"

Lisa closed her eyes for a moment, letting those words sink in. She turned to face her but she didn't look her in they eye, knowing that if looks could kill, she would be dead in a less than a second.

"You make me so mad, Lisa." Chaeyoung says, taking a step forward, "I waited for you for so long. And to this day, I still was. But, I'm tired of it. And you couldn't even at least tell me why you had to go. You just left me there, hanging."

Lisa looked up at her. Her eyes widened as she noticed Chaeyoung's tears stream down her face. All the guilt and saddens she felt cake crashing down onto her as she watched her cry.

"Chae—"

"Shut up!" the older girl exclaimed letting her anger out, "You don't get to say anything! I would've forgiven you before if you came back. I would've still loved you. I would've still been with you. Just—Just–Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me why you left? Or when you would? I woke up in that hospital hoping to see you first. Do even know how I felt when they told me you weren't coming? Even when I got out of the hospital, I looked for you! I went to every place we went to, hoping to find you but, you were nowhere. And when I found out from Jennie that you had gone to Thailand for a while, I still waited..."

Lisa watched her ramble angrily at her. She had never seen Chaeyoung so livid and sad more than ever.

Chaeyoung cried as if her brain was being shredded from the inside—emotional pain flowed out of her every pore. It didn't help that her slight drunkenness had heightened her every emotion. She clutched onto her chest, feeling it tighten with ever cry she made as she yelled at Lisa. It echoed down the halls and Lisa wanted nothing more than to hug her her and tell her that everything would be fine. But it wasn't.

Chaeyoung and Lisa stood there, both slightly drunk and emotion, sad and tried, as they both tried desperately to keep up with each other. Chaeyoung wouldn't stop crying and that hurt Lisa. This was all because of her and she knew that. But she didn't want to see her cry anymore. It was too much for her, so she threw her fear away and stepped forward.

Lisa kissed her.
