Harry walked through the supermarket. His eyes scanned all the isles and he hummed a soft tune. He held a bouquet of white roses in his left hand.

Harry's parents were away most of the time, but today they would come home. Harry wanted to make them dinner and decorate the house a little before they arrived.

He hasn't seen them in 2 months and he missed them terribly. He used to sleep at Louis' when his parents were away, but if he were to ring their doorbell, he would probably have to run for his life.

Especially if Leo was home. That man once hit Harry when he saw him on the street. He just walked up to him telling him to stop talking to his stepson or he would regret it.

Jay was still sweet. Sometimes she would smile at him when she saw him. She's always been sweet. Harry never understood why she remarried such an asshole.

Just as Harry grabbed some leeks, his phone started ringing. He blushed a deep shade of red when a few other customers looked in his direction before he picked up.

''Hello?''

''Harry! Love, how are you?'' Anne's voice rang from the other side of the phone.

''Mum!'' Harry yelped happily.

''I'm doing alright. Shopping for dinner. You know, wanted to treat you tonight!'' Harry cheered, placing the leeks in his shopping basket

''Oh, honey... About that. Your dad and I need to stay here for another month or two.'' She said, sympathy in her voice.

''W-what? But you said that-''

''I know, Harry. This is just such a big opportunity for your father's business! It's really important, you understand right?'' Anne asked softly.

''Yes, mum. I fully understand that dad's business is way more important than your own son. Just fuck off.'' Harry snapped.

''Harr-''

Harry pressed the red button on his phone with tears shining in his green eyes.

Alone for another 2 months. Now that's amazing, isn't it?

He wiped his eyes and placed the vegetables back in the isles.

''God fucking damnit.'' He whispered when a sob nearly fell from his lips. Not in the store. There's time for crying later.

''So, you're sinning by being gay and you also take God's name in vain?''

''Not now, Louis. Just- Anytime but not now.'' Harry choked out and brushed past the older boy.

Louis grabbed his upper arm. ''Am I just supposed to ignore the fact that you just damned God?''

Harry rolled his eyes. ''What do you want me to do? Go to church and confess all my sins? No, thanks.''

''Oh hell no. If you take one step into church God might drag you to hell himself'' Louis said.

Harry eyed Louis up and down before his eyes fell upon Louis' hand which was still holding his arm.

''Careful there, Louis. You might catch my 'gay'.'' Harry said, nodding at the other's hand.

Louis pulled his hand away as if he burned himself before glaring at the taller boy. ''Fucking twat.''

''Doesn't the bible say that you should love your neighbour as yourself. That means you're sinning right now too, right?'' Harry spat.

Louis gritted his teeth.

''I'm not sinning. I'm doing what God tells me to.''

''Yeah? Did God walk up to you and tell you to tell me how much I'm sinning? Tell me, Louis. Did God tell you that or did your stepfather tell you that?''

''Does that even matter? You're the one who made the wrong decision. Even your own parents take long business trips to postpone seeing you!'' Louis said, knowing full well how much that statement hurts Harry.

Harry's eyes welled up with tears before he huffed and runs out of the store, leaving his half-empty shopping basket next to Louis' feet.

Louis stared at the empty spot in front of him and sighed deeply.

''Major fuck up.'' He whispered to himself, grabbing Harry's basket. He eyed the items and then his eyes fell upon the bouquet of roses. He bit his lip and gently grabbed them from the ground.

He considers bringing them to Harry's house but soon realizes that Harry isn't worth it and that his mother will be rather happy with them as well.

He strolled down the street with the flowers in his hands.

He missed Harry.

No, he didn't. He hated the curly-haired cunt. What the fuck was he thinking?

But what about the time Harry and he nearly burned his mother's kitchen down. The cupcakes caught fire and they literally had to call the fire brigade because they didn't know what to do.

Louis laughed softly at the pleasant memory. Those memories were so much better than the ones they were making right now. Basically wishing each other dead.

Harry already knew that he was gay back then. He never touched Louis in wrong ways, never said wrong things, never tried to kiss Louis and never talked about liking boys because he knew that Louis didn't feel comfortable with it.

Harry never did anything wrong. How could he possibly do that anyway?

With his pretty green eyes, unruly curls, long legs, amazing smile, adorable dimples and-

Louis what the fuck!

Louis shook his head and rubbed his eyes.

He was probably exhausted from last night. He wasn't thinking clearly. Definitely wasn't thinking clearly.

He unlocked his front door, glancing at the houses down the street, watching as a figure with slouched shoulders walked into his house.

Harry...

****

Harry slammed the door shut and dropped to his knees on the floor. A sharp sob slipped past his lips and soon more followed.

The boy pulled his knees up to his chest and rests his back against the wall. Eyeing the empty house with a blurry vision from all his tears.

He absolutely hated being alone. Of course, he has friends but they're not his family. His family was never there.

''Thanks for bringing that up, Louis.'' Harry cried, wiping his tears away from his wet face.

He stood up and walked towards his bedroom. He plopped down on his bed and looked at the framed picture on his bedside table.

It was a picture of Louis and him.

For some stupid reason, he could never throw it away or stuff it somewhere, never to be seen again.

He had such a nice time with Louis. All the amazing memories somehow seemed to overpower the bad ones. He's always admired Louis. For his beauty and strength and he couldn't just change that vision.

Even if Louis hurts him time and time again. Deep down he still saw Louis as his best friend.

The friend who would wrap his arms around Harry tightly when his parents would do something like this. The friend who allowed Harry to cry on his shoulder and mumble soft words of encouragement into his ear.

Who would take him home and beg Jay to let Harry stay at their house for another month so that he wouldn't be alone in the big scary house.

Harry grabbed the photo and traced Louis' face with his finger.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Harry shot up and rushed downstairs, still hoping that his parents were just messing with him.

He opened the door with a slight smile on his face, but it dropped when he saw Jay standing in front of him.

His eyes fell to the floor and he bowed his head, feeling ashamed all of a sudden.

''Harry, hi eh. I heard that your parents will stay in Australia for a little longer, yeah?'' She mumbled, awkwardly scratching the back of her head.

Harry nodded. ''Y-yes, ma'am. They just called.'' He answered, still not daring to look at Louis' mother.

''Okay, look, Harry.'' Jay pushed a plastic box into Harry's arms.

''Don't tell Leo, but this is my tomato soup. I know you used to love my soup as a kid and I just figured... Darling, invite that blonde friend of yours and have a fun night, okay?'' She whispered, looking around her anxiously.

Harry bit his lip. He grabbed Jay's arm and pulled her into the house, quickly hugging her as he cried quietly.

Her arms wrapped around his shaking body and she rocked them from side to side for a little while.

''You know that I don't fully stand behind your choices, Harry. But I once promised your mother to look after you when they were away and I'm still rather fond of you. Even if Louis and Leo make your life difficult, I've still got your back if you need anything. I need to go now, but make sure that you're not alone tonight.'' Jay said and then fled out of the house.

Leaving Harry in front of a closed door with soup in his hands and a little smile on his lips.

He really needed that comfort.
