Flying through the highway I turn in full throttle. Rushing out had seemed like a good idea at the time...
(Miyoko, where is she!?)
I had ride my scooter back to the station.
(she had said there was something she had to do here...)
(Miyoko!)
I look around...but amongst the passer-by, I cannot find anyone that resembles her.
(Calm down...)
(At this rate, searching blindly won't be much help.)
(Somewhere she might go...there must be a clue...)
(Oh right! There is!)
"She must be there!!"
I head towards the hill, the last place we visited during our date preparation. I almost completely out of strength, but I don't stop turning the throttle.
My scooter roared into the highway flying its maximum speed 30mph. I arrive at top of the hill.
(I really need to buy a new motorbike.)
And there...
Someone sits on a bench below a street light.
That silhouette, gazing absently at the night view...
"Miyoko!!!"
"Huh?!"
Surprised, she turns around towards me.
"Mina?!"
"I-I thought you'd be here!"
She states painfully at the ground.
"W-what are you doing here?!"
"Why did you come back...?"
"Um...well!"
There should be so much I want to say, and yet I can't find the right words.
(C-calm down...)
"M-Miyoko!"
"Don't come!!!"
"Huh?!"
"I...I'd gone through all the trouble to leave you with a smile..."
"Right now...I don't think I can smile..."
(M-Miyoko!)
She catches her breath and whispers in a small voice...
"Just, don't..."
"W-what?"
"Mina...you're in love with Raika, aren't you?"
"So...don't stay here, and go back to Raika."
(she still doesn't understand.)
"Y-you know that Raika works long hours, so you should treasure the time you can spend with her..."
"W-wait! Miyoko!"
"Hm?"
"I-it's not Raika...that I want to be with."
"Wh-what are you saying?! Y-you're in love with Raika, aren't you?"
"You're wrong!..."
"I'm not wrong!!!"
Her voice suddenly rings out, almost as a sob.
"I-I...want us to stay friends, Mina!!!"
"You even said the same thing!!!"
"I..."
"You said that we should remain best friends!!!"
"So why...?"
"Why did you come here?!"
As if something inside her she had been suppressing begins to overflow, tears begin to silently stream down her cheeks.
