the sixteen year old snorts at her ex boyfriend's text before shutting her phone and shoving it in her jean pocket
she enters her house to smell her mother's cooking and her stomach growled—
what the hell? i just ate.
her stomach growls again. eh whatever.
after eating what turned out to be just burger king, kimberly kicked back on her bed in her new house. she had her hands behind her head as she observed her mostly unpacked room.
feeling unsatisfied with how much she's been procrastinating about packing; she got up and started to do just that
she turned on the bluetooth on her phone and connected it to her speaker, letting the rap music play softly in the room—her mother would start to yell if she heard her daughter listening to such bold and obscene vocabulary.
kimberly started in her bathroom
she personally loved the small space better than her own bedroom—there was a small window, bringing in minimal light and a beautiful pearly white vanity.
she put scented candles and synthetic roses around for decoration as she hollered the lyrics of her favorite kanye west song

kimberly paused when she pulled out a bath bubble bottle—when was the last time?
when the number eight popped up in her head her face immediately dropped
she shut the door and undressed in a hurry, filling the tub with hot water and vanilla scented bubbles; she brought the music in the bathroom before she slid inside,
euphoria.
she sighed happily and relaxed, enjoying the feeling as much as she could & hoped her mother wouldn't call for her in this state: she never wanted to leave
she fell asleep, fast & hard.
her eyes were shut even when she felt intense eyes watching her;
