Andrew was at a Halloween party his friend matt held when his world got turned upside down. He barely ever went out, his social anxiety ruined his life, but he's glad he did tonight. For once he's happy he left his house because he met the man of his dreams...
[Andrews Pov]
I walked through the open front door, looking around for Matt. He was the one hosting this stupid thing and forced me to come. We had to dress up too so I just threw on a cape and called it a day.
I walked around a little, giving the people I regonize small waves and the people I didn't a nod. It was pretty crowded. You could tell almost everyone was already drunk. In one corner of the room a group of people, led by Matts friend Caleb, were smoking weed so the place stunk too.
"Andrew!" I turned around and smiled a little as Matt walked up behind me, arms open. I gave him a small hug and a quiet hello.
"To be honest I'm surprised you even showed up."
"I wasn't going to but I haven't left my place in a few weeks and decided fresh air and a fresh environment could do me some good." Matt nodded and pulled away.
"Understandable. Sorry this isn't a very fresh smelling environment though. I tried putting Caleb outside but as you can see, it didn't work very well." I chuckled softly and shrugged.
"It's fine, I'm use to the smell anyway. You've seen the apartment complex I'm in right now." Matt and I let out a loud laugh.
"I almost forgot about that place. I'm sure something illegal is going on in that apartment."
"It wouldn't surprise me. I only ever see them come out at night and when I do its sketchy as all hell." We both laughed again as a taller man walked over. The two of us made eye contact as soon as he stopped walking. The stranger had dirty blond hair, blue eyes I think, round glasses and he had on a yellow and black stripped jump suit. His jawline was pretty chizzled and smooth too. He didn't look bad.
"Garrett! You made it!" Matt and this Garrett guy shared a quick embrace.
"Shane didn't need me for as long as I thought he would have. We finished filming in an hour." Matt nodded and turned to me.
"Garrett, this is my friend Andrew. Andrew, this is Garrett." I nodded and shook his extended hand.
"It's nice to meet you." My voice was soft and shaky, but it was always like that around new people. Especially when they're hot.
"Nice to meet you too. A friend of Matts is a friend of mine. Although, I'm surprised he has any." Matt let out a fake gasp of hurt causing Garrett and I both to laugh.
"How rude! Just when i was going to offer to get you a drink aswell." Matt shook his head, laughing along with us.
"I'll still take a drink. You know what I like." Matt nodded and turned to me after smiling at Garrett who gave a soft thank you.
"What would you like Andrew? "
"I'll just have a beer please. Thank you."
"Perfect. One vodka and coke and one beer coming right up! You two can get to know each other while I'm gone!" Matt walked off over to the drink table, leaving Garrett and I alone.
"So...how do you know Matt?" I turned my attention back to Garrett.
"We met online through vine. You?"
"The same way actually." We both laughed.
"Some of the best friendships are made online in my opinion." Garrett nodded.
"Yea I think so too." It went quiet between us again but it wasn't uncomfortable. It was nice. One of the lights hit his face perfectly and i got the opportunity to really look at him.
Garrett had the brightest blue eyes I had ever seen. They were beautiful. He had a bit of a stubble growing but not much. His dirty blonde hair was slicked back a bit and he was a good few inches taller then I was. This man was absolutely beautiful.
Before I could say anything again Matt came back over with our drinks.
"Here you guys go."
"Thanks Matt." Garrett and I said in unison, causing us both to giggle. Matt rolled his eyes and laughed.
"You guys are strange." The three of us kept talking over the loud music, taking a break every so often to dance along to one.
"So Andrew, what do you do for a living?" Garrett asked out of the blue. I didn't mind though. I loved sharing my passions and job.
"Well, I do a lot of photography for small companies and I also film and edit videos and small movies for youtubers and companies. It's something I really love to do." Garretts grin grew wider.
"That's awesome! I do some of the same too, I'm actually a youtuber myself. Maybe we could do something sometime." I smiled wide and nodded.
"That sounds really fun! I don't have a stable job right now so I'm free anytime."
"Awesome! I mean, it's not awesome that you don't have a job. That sucks. I mean it's awesome that you're free anytime." I smiled more and chuckled at his nervous rambles.
"It's fine Garrett, don't worry. Here, lemme get your number and we can plan something." He nodded as we switched phones after unlocking them. I put in my number in his and he put his into mine. When I got my phone back I hit the call button out of habit. Garrett looked up at me with an eyebrow raised.
"Why are you calling me?" I frowned and looked down, my anxiety about to bubble over.
"Sorry it's just...you wouldn't believe the amount of guys that give me fake numbers. I just do it to make sure." I could have swore Garrett eyes lit up and he got happier.
"That sucks. That's happened to me too, I understand. But if you don't mind me asking, are you gay?" I chuckled at his straightforwardness and shook my head.
"Not exactly. I'm bisexual. I'm just more on the boys side then girls." Garrett nodded and smiled.
"Cool. I only have one bi friend and he's surrounded by gay people, including myself. You should meet him. He deserves to be around some of his own kind." The two of us busted out laughing at that. We'd only met a few hours ago but Garrett was a delight to be around. His laugh was contagious and beautiful, he himself was beautiful. I could see myself falling for him.
Just as I was about to take him up on the offer the music started to slow down a little.
"Alright everybody, as cliche as it sounds were gonna slow things down a little just for shits and giggles and because everyone's drunk anyway so they won't remember what's going on." I rolled my eyes at Matt and scratched the back of my neck a little. I looked around as people started grabbing onto whoever was next to them, either slowly, drunkenly grinding on each other or dancing nicely.
"Wanna dance?" I looked back towards Garrett then looked down to his extended hand. I smiled and little and nodded.
"Sure. I haven't really danced in a while." Garrett smiled wide and wrapped my arms around his neck. I linked my fingers together and ran them through his soft hair. I smiled wide as Garrett placed his hands on my hips. It felt nice to be held like this again. The last time this happened was on and tinder date a few years ago which ended horribly.
Garrett and I danced in silence, besides the music, just staring into eachothers eyes and smiling like a bunch of fools. He pulled me closer every now and then until my chest was right up against his, our noses inches away from eachothers. He smirked a little and looked down at me, considering he was taller then I was.
"Wanna know a secret?" I raised an eyebrow but nodded.
"Sure."
"This whole party was a set up for us to meet. Matt told me all about you. He basically set us up without you knowing. He told me that he wants you to be happy and he thinks I can do the trick. I hope you're not mad or anything, it was all his idea." I laughed and shook my head.
"Not surprised. Matt always pulls stunts like that. But he didn't do too bad this time."
"Really?" I smiled and nodded.
"Really. You're really nice Garrett." His smirk turned to a smile as he pressed his nose to mine, closing the inch gap between us.
"So if I were to ask you out on a date, even though we've only offically known each other for 2 hours, would you say yes?" I smiled wide and nodded.
"I would. Matts always known what's best for me so I'll give it a shot." Garrett laughed and nodded.
"Alright then. I'll plan it out and let you know."
"Sounds amazing." Garrett smiled more and looked down into my eyes as I did the same gestures towards him. This party wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be.
Maybe I should leave my apartment more often...
