Louis's POV

The smell of french toast invaded my nostrils when I woke up the next morning. I jumped out of bed, excited to have a taste of the special treat and followed the smell to the kitchen where I found my very handsome man in his boxers only.

He was humming a song I didn't recognise and obviously hadn't noticed me coming in. I walked up behind him and wrapped my arms around him, letting my chin rest on his shoulder as I kissed his neck. “Are you pregnant yet?”

“Hey! What makes you say I'd be the one to carry our baby? I don't know if you have proper memories about last night, but you could be very much pregnant yourself mister!”

“Everyone can see you're actually the...” I said with a cheeky smile before he cut me off, pointing at me with the spatula he still held in his hand.

“Watch what you're saying Tommo, I'm cooking your breakfast here, and I could still get you a sex-ban too!” he threatened.

“Except for the fact that you're too horny yourself, but I was going to say... everyone can see you're actually the strongest one out of us, I could never bare with giving birth.”

“Nice save. Though we both know that was not what you were going to say, and I'll make you pay for it sooner or later.” he smiled before turning back to the stove, managing to save the toast in the pan from burning to ashes. “Sit down, I'm almost done here.”

“Yes sir!”

A few minutes later he walked over to the counter, two plates stacked with French toast in his hands. We both started eating them, managing to clear one plate, the other being left for Niall and Harry when they would finally emerge from the bedroom after last night's wild adventure. It had me thinking about how much Harry was staying over here lately, it would probably be more practical if they moved in together already.

The weather was too good to spend the day inside, so we got dressed and went for a long walk around the city.

When we returned, Harry and Niall were up and sat in our living room together with Zayn and Helen. They were playing a game of Carcassonne, which Helen was winning with a smashing score leaving the others far behind. We sat down with them, sniggering at Zayn's sulking. He was always a sore loser, and losing from his girlfriend didn't exactly make it better.

After dinner, that had been cooked already by Harry and Niall, Zayn produced some beer and we decided to play sing star, getting a little tipsy to make it easier, or at least it seemed that way.

The evening ended with all four of them choking in laughter as I made a bet with Niall I could get more M&M's into my mouth than him. I lost, of course, though it was a close call. Only 28 behind. Don't even ask why we have such an enormous stock of M&M's, I blame Niall.

“What are your plans for the next week bambi?” I asked softly when Liam and I finally got to bed after making sure the living room looked decent again. Not an easy task when you've had a few beers too many.

“Just studying. Finals are going to be there sooner than I want them to. And I have to finish three more projects by the end of the month too.”

“Sounds boring.”

“It is. As is everything without you.”

“God Liam, you're too cheesy for your own good.”

He giggled, kissing my lips before he told me he loved me, again, and continued talking about nothing much. He was obviously knackered, seeing as he fell asleep mid sentence.

Liam's POV

My heart sunk when I woke up to an empty bed the next morning. Louis was back to work, and I had a long and boring day of studying ahead. I'd have to check with Niall, Harry and Zayn if they were up for lunch at the bakery, as I knew I would get bored and sick of sitting inside by noon.

Niall skipped into my room around 2pm looking bored and lonely. Harry had left early this morning, needing to do some studying himself, so Niall had locked himself with his books too.

It was already past Lou's break time, so we didn't bother going over there and just got a sandwich around the corner and ate it at the park before returning to our books. Not after I checked the mail three times, even though I knew it was silly since the letter was only sent yesterday, but I couldn't help myself.

By the end of the holidays, I had actually managed to finish most of my project work and studied for almost all of my courses. Niall was whining every night how he was jealous of me and my ability to concentrate for such a long time. I knew by experience that he had the attention span of a goldfish while studying.

As the weeks went by, finals came closer, leaving me little time to spend outside of my room, let alone enjoy my free days with Louis. My heart sunk in my chest everytime I walked down to our mailbox to find it empty, or only filled with bills and junk mail. It had been over 6 weeks now, maybe his mum wouldn't give him a second chance after all. I had never wanted to believe it, I mean, who couldn't love Louis, but by now, I didn't really have another choice. I had given up on running to the mailbox to be the first one opening it, the disappointment got the better of me.

Louis misinterpreted my moody ways as a sign I was getting tired of the exams and spoiled me with all kinds of delicious foods and at least one of his fantastic massages a week. He even started preparing for some kind of date for when I finished finals, and it looked like it would be massive. I smiled at his sweetness and rewarded him, mind you, but I felt a bit guilty about not being able to tell him why my mood had been this bad.

It was a Thursday, halfway through June, only three more exams ahead, when Louis came walking into my room to say hello after work. He kissed me on the lips and rubbed my shoulders a bit, making me moan and throw my head back to lean against his abs.

“Oh, before I forget, you've got mail. There were a few bills too, but I'll pop by the bank to get them paid after work tomorrow.”

He left the white envelope on my desk. My name and address written in a neat handwriting I didn't recognise. My heartbeat racing, my hands trembling as I turned it around, over and over before ripping it open. It revealed one sheet of paper, neatly folded in four. I hesitated for a second, not sure if now was a good time to read it, but I decided I didn't have the patience to wait any longer, and I was sure Louis would be preoccupied with dinner for at least half an hour.

I unfolded it carefully, a bit scared of what I would find inside.

Dear Liam,

I am truly sorry for taking so long to reply to your letter. Very kind letter, might I add. It took me a while to decide what I wanted to do with this... situation. Louis still is my son, and he always will be, but he has hurt me, and my daughters very much in the past. But I'm willing to believe that he has changed. And I'm willing to give him yet another chance. With me. I don't want to get his sisters involved. Not just yet. They are too young and to vulnerable to deal with it if it does go wrong again. I won't bother you with telling how devastated they were the first time. They all adored, I should even say adore their brother, so I don't want to put them through this just yet.

But yes, I am prepared to meet up with you, sometime. The girls will be leaving on a Summercamp in the second week of the holidays, so if you'd like, Louis and you could come over here to visit. Or I could come to London. It doesn't really matter to me. Whatever you prefer. I'll leave you my cell underneath, so you can keep me updated with the plans.

Oh, and Liam, thank you. For taking care of my son. For doing this for him, for us. I appreciate it, whatever the outcome.

Love,

Jay Tomlinson.

My hands were shaking, and I was pretty sure my face was drawn from colour. I kept on reading it over and over to make sure I understood it right, to make sure she really was inviting us to visit.

I don't know how many times I had read it by the time Louis came in to tell me dinner was ready, immediately picking up that something was wrong.

“Liam? Was it bad news?”

I shook my head, unable to get any words out. He walked up to me, looking worried and confused.

“Was it the letter? What was it about?”

“It- it's your mother. She wants us to visit next month.”

Dun dun dun dun...

Three updates in one week. I think I need a reward now. A lot of comments would be nice ;)

Love!
