Game Day
Hunter had left earlier this morning to ride with the team to the game. Hunter's mom, Julie were the one taking me, Jennifer, and David to the game.
I quickly slipped on my Giants jersey. We had to leave an hour early before the game starts and the clock was ticking.
I gave myself a quick look over before heading out of Hunter's childhood bedroom.
"Alright everyone's here, we should head out" Hunter's mom said clapping her hands together excitedly
"Oh we're y'all waiting on me? I'm sorry" I said regretfully
"Oh no it's fine, you didn't take that long" Julie, Hunter's mom, said
"Grandpa isn't coming?" David questioned
"No, he wasn't feeling up to it" Julie said sadly
"Well okay, lets get going then. Some people people have no respect for other people's time" Jennifer said
This bitch. She got on more time to try me.
With that, we all shuffled out of the house.
"Reece moves to the right of the field launches the ball in the air and it is caught in the end zone! Touchdown Giants" the announcer yelled causing all of us to jump up in excitement in the vip room
"That's my boy!" Hunter's mom yelled
"Let's go baby" I said clapping my hands excitedly as I watched as Hunter jogged off the field
"And that's the end of the first half"
So far, so good. The Giants were up 14-0 on the Falcons—Hunter was really balling out this first half of the game.
"Hey we're here, we're here! Sorry we're late" I heard a women say behind us. Turning around I saw a pregnant woman holding a little girl in her arms.
"Oh Reina I'm so happy you're here" Julie said getting up from her seat "where's your husband?"
"Oh he's still parking" she said
"We didn't miss much did we?" Sam said as he too walked in the room with another man behind him and a little boy.
"Oh no you really did actually, Hunter got two touchdowns" I said to Sam as I got up and gave him a hug
"Nice seeing you again Nadia, this is my son Benji. I think I told you about him a little" he said smiling down at his son.
He in fact did, on the car ride over from the airport, he mentioned his wife and his son.
Crouching down, I went to Benji's level "Hi, there I'm Nadia. And you must be Benji"
"Hi" he said shyly
"I love your shirt" I said smiling "it looks just like mine"
"This is my Uncle's shirt, he's my favorite football player" he told me enthusiastically
"We have a lot in common because he's mine too. How crazy is that?" I said laughing lightly "high five" I said holding my palm out to him and he connected his hand with mine
"Oh you gotta hit harder then that" I said teasingly "try again" I said with a bright smile on my face. This kid was the cutest, pulling his hand back again he hit my palm with greater force
"Oh wow you're strong Benji" I said faking shock causing him to giggle as I finally stood up from my crouched position.
"Oh everyone this is Hunter's girlfriend, Nadia" Julie announced
"Oh my God, you are even more beautiful in person! Hi, I'm Reina by the way" Reina said coming up to me giving me a side hug.
"Nice to meet you" I said hugging her back "and whose this cutie?"
"This is little lady right here is Leah" Reina said proudly
"She is so precious" I instantly felt the baby fever come over me just looking at this little girl.
I tickled Leah's stomach a little and I got the cutest little smile from her. Pulling my hand away, a man came up to me "Hi, I'm Jeff. Hunter's all time favorite cousin..."
Hunter told me otherwise, but that's none of my business though.
"...Hunter talks so much about you" he said pulling me into a hug
"Nice to meet you too Jeff" I said with a grin "I heard from Sam that you had all the tea on Hunter" I said to him grinning
"That I do" he said giving a hefty laugh
Everyone was so welcoming, so far—well except she who shall not be named.
"Hey you know where the bathroom is?" I asked Hunter's mom. I've been holding it in for a while now, but I really had to go.
"Oh just go down the hall, first door on the right" she said
"Okay thanks" I said getting up from my seat and heading out the door.
Once I went to the bathroom, I went into the stall and did my business. Stepping out, I went straight to the sink to wash my hands—I was trying to rush so that wouldn't miss too much of the game.
After drying, I turned to walk out the door only for Hunter's cousin, Jennifer, to walk in abruptly.
"Oh uh-" I said out of shock
"What are your intentions with my cousin?" she asked getting straight to the point.
"I don't know what your getting at" I said laughing
"I know girls like you, girls who like use people for money. You need to stay away from Hunter" she said pointing her finger menacingly at me
"You don't even know me" I said in disbelief
I knew a racist when I saw one. Let's see what bullshit excuse she was gonna give me.
"I don't have to know you, and I don't want to know you. You have him blinded, but I see right through you" Jennifer really was trying it
This was the last straw.
"Okay One, bitch Imma need you take two steps back cause you're invading my space" I said 'bitch' so quick it was almost like she ain't even catch it.
"And two, you're delusional. I love Hunter, and Hunter loves me. No ulterior motives there" I said dryly "now I'm gonna need you to get outta my face" I said forcing a fake smile
She gasped in shock as I pushed past her and out of the bathroom.
Getting back to my seat, I sat next to Hunter's mom "did I miss anything?" I asked with a smile
"Oh no, you're right on time" she said with a grin
Turning to my left, I saw Jennifer come into the room a pissed off expression on her face.
Rolling my eyes, I focused back on the field.
Today was a good day. After I sat on the bench, Luke was put in and completely balled out on the field.
He put up two touchdown passes against the Falcons—I was happy he was able to contribute to this win today.
I laid out on the bed as I watched Nadia get ready for Dinner. I was a little tired from the game earlier, so I was going to talk my sweet time and lay back for a minute.
"Are you just gonna stare at me the whole time or are you going to get dressed too" Nadia said laughing as she fixed her hair up
"Getting dressed takes me like two seconds. I don't take forever like you" I said laughing
"Whatever" she said rolling her eyes. Nadia low key knew I was right.
Finishing up, she straighten out her dress and turned to face me "I look okay?" she asked
"Sheesh, Nadia, sheesh" I said looking her up and down "you ain't have to do 'em like that" I said chuckling as I got off the bed
I could see that she was trying to hold back her smile
"Turn around for me right quick" shaking her head she did as she was told "gotdamn is that my baby?" I wasn't tryna gas her too much, but I had to give credit where credit was due—she looked fine as hell.
"Hunter-"
"Nah, nah step back for me real quick. I gotta take a picture, you looking too good right now" I said grabbing my phone "pose a little"
"The lighting here isn't even that good" she said laughing
"Go to the bathroom, there's great lighting in there" I said pushing her out of the room
"Hunter you are so extra" she said laughing
"Thank me later" I said chuckling as we enters the bathroom "Okay stand over there" I pointed
I quickly snapped the picture after she got into position
"Okay do something a little different" I said smiling
"Hunter c'mon you have to get dressed" she said grinning
"One more, come on baby. One more" I pleaded
"Okay fine" she said shaking her head as she got into a different position
"Can I get a little squatting action" I directed
"In this dress? You must be out of your mind"
"Okay you right, that positions good too" I said laughing
I snapped the picture a couple times before checking them out. "Nadia, you look so damn fine in this one" I said hyping her up
"Okay Hunter that's enough, we gotta get you dressed" she said pushing me out of the bathroom laughing
"Fine, but you gotta help me pick out an outfit. I gotta match your fly" I said seriously
"I got you" she said patting my back
"How I look?" I asked smirking as I stepped out the bath
Nadia looked up from her phone and looked at me from head to toe, "oh you look nice"
"Just nice, my ass was hyping you up a couple minutes and all I get is 'nice'? Oh I see how it is" I said shaking my head
"Oh my bad, you look handsome, sexy, baby daddy-ish all rolled into one" she said smiling
"I heard baby daddy-ish and I'm sold" I said grinning from ear to ear
"That's good cause I'm pregnant" she said nonchalantly
"Wait, what?" I said pausing
Getting up from the bed she stood directly in front of me "I said I'm pregnant"
"Are you for real? Are you serious right now?" I asked grabbing her hand looking in her eyes
"Nah I'm just fucking with you" she said laughing
"I hate you so much" I said letting go of her hands "my heart was beating so fucking fast"
"We should head down now" she said full out laughing
"See now if you're actually pregnant and you wanted to tell me, I wouldn't believe you cause you play too much" I said as I went to walk out my bedroom door
"Fat chance of that happening, I'm on birth control now" she snorted
I pivoted back turning to face her "when did you do that? Why am I just hearing about this" I asked with creased brows
"It slipped my mind" she said shrugging her shoulders
"Alright then" I said before turning and heading out the door and down the steps
"Wait before you head down there, I have to talk to you about Cousin" Nadia said seriously
"Which one?" I asked
"Jennifer"
"What about her?" I asked confused
"Ever since I got here she's been throwing shady ass remarks at me. Then, today she cornered me in the bathroom, talking 'bout how I'm using you and all this other crap. I've only talked to this girl a handful of times and she swears she has me figured out" she said frustrated
"What the fuck. Why didn't you tell me this earlier?" I asked getting upset
"Because I wasn't trying to start anything. I could take shady remarks, but when she cornered me that was the last straw. Oh and I might have called her a bitch, just an FYI" she said laughing a little at the last part
"I'm gonna talk to her" I said as I began to climb down that stairs
"Okay, but can you do it after dinner" she pleaded "I really don't want this to be a huge thing, especially with it being my first time eating out with your family"
Sighing I nodded "Alright, I apologize for her behavior though. That's really weird she'd do that" I said kissing her forehead before grabbing her hand
"Don't apologize for her, if anyones gonna apologize to me it's gonna be her for judging me right off the bat"
Jennifer has always been protective of me in some way, but with this she crossed the line and I wasn't having it.
