Hyewon put her glass down on the table and eyed the family carefully.

"Why did we let them in anyways?" Hyewon muttered to Sangyeon.

"Cause Eric is here..?" He muttered back and took a sip of his water, Hyewon scoffed at her brother's Eric complexity.

"Hyewon.. I can explain.." Heejin was about to grab Hyewon's arm but Hyewon dodged her attack. "You clearly don't need to explain, Heejin. The answer is already in front of me." Hyewon crossed her legs while looking elsewhere.

Silence took over and no one dared to say a word, but Hyewon took the risk and tried to go to her room before she could hear a word from them, however Heejin held her arm. "Please, let me explain."

Hyewon shoved her arm away and entered her room; however without notice, Heejin also entered her room and closed the door slowly.

"You knew, didn't you?" Hyewon asked facing away from her.

"How can I not know my big sister?"

Once Hyewon heard those words, she had mixed feelings about the whole situation and finally faced Heejin. "Why did you keep it a secret? Was this your plan all along?"

"Part of it was.." She looked down. "I miss you, Hyewon. From the day we put you up for adoption, I cried continuously."

"Well honestly I miss the adoption staff more than I miss you guys." She muttered.

"Hm?" Heejin popped her head up.

She can't just talk to the reason why she ended up here in the first place.

My dad was a school principal, yet they couldn't pay for our school costs? Mom was a doctor, yet they couldn't pay for my surgery costs?

"If you care about me this much, just leave me alone. Please?" Hyewon begged.

Heejin slowly nodded and opened the door to her room then closing it slowly behind her. The last words Heejin said about crying really hit Hyewon. She's not lying, right? Heejin is Hyewon's half sister, and you can trust sisters, but how can you trust a sister that just lied to your face?

The abandonment left little Hyewon out of it for months, she isolated herself from the staff and chose to forget everything regarding her family situation; the car accident also played a huge role in her remembering certain memories. Sangyeon and Hyewon never spoke about the situation again to keep them safe from the past.

Hyewon felt dizzy and decided to take a rest so her mind would be at ease; hoping that they could leave.

...

"Wake up!!" A voice said. It somewhat sounded like a little boy's voice. "Hurry up Hyewon-ah! We're gonna be late for school."

"Just 1 more hour would be fine." A little girl's voice responded.

"I walked all the way here just to wake you up! Get up!" The little boy replied. Hyewon opened her eyes once the voice got loud, she blinked multiple times as her vision was blurry but focused and saw..

A little boy?

"What are you doing in my room, little boy?" Hyewon asked out of curiosity.

"Excuse you, but I'm not a little boy." The little boy's voice suddenly turned deep, his figure grew taller and he finally looked about the same age as Hyewon.

"What the hell Changmin!!! What are you doing in my sweet humble abode?" Hyewon rubbed her eyes although still being surprised.

"I said, we're late for school and you weren't at the bus stop so I came here and woke you up. Your brother let me in if you're wondering." He grabbed a banana milk from his backpack and stabbed a straw aggressively, making some banana milk spill onto Hyewon's bed. Changmin showed his pretty dimples and laughed out.

"You little-" She was interrupted by Sangyeon.

"Hurry your ass up, the principal wants to see you. I just got a call." Hyewon widened her eyes and pushed Changmin out of her room to get prepared for one hell of a day.

🥛 🥛 🥛

Hyewon smelt herself as she waited outside the principal's office.

"It's not like you're going for a date with the principal." Chanhee crossed his arms.

"Ohh, well it's not my fault you didn't get in trouble for not being in school for 3 days. Where were you anyways?"

"I was tending to my cows."

Hyewon nodded and took that as a good answer. She agreed that it was too early in the morning to question anything.

"Do you milk the cows?" Changmin asked.

"No, my grandma is vegan." Chanhee huffed.

"Oh-"

The principal came out and ooooo- was Hyewon's reaction priceless.

Her father.

Was there.

In a suit.

"Well please come in, Ms. Moon." He motioned for Hyewon to follow him.

The boys waved until Mr. Moon closed the door on them.

He sighed out loud and got straight to the point, "I know, and I apologize but.. Please consider moving in with us."

Her eyebrows furrowed at the sudden question, "Just because you're my former dad doesn't mean you have the right to come back into my life. And as a school principal, shouldn't this conversation be about something more academically focused?" Hyewon crossed her arms and looked elsewhere.

He frowned and clapped his hands together, "I'm not forcing you, Hyewon. We regretted letting you go very much. I want to see my little girl again. We want to see our little angel again."

Hyewon was a strong person but hearing those words made her feel like tearing up. The bell miraculously rang. "Mr. Moon. I have to get to class now. I'll make sure to do my homework." Hyewon faked a smile and turned the knob to get out of his office.

"We love you, Hyewon."

Hyewon's grip on the knob tightened and she finally got to get away from the room without saying a word, not knowing that Chanhee and Changmin were hiding from her.

"What do we do?" Changmin asked Chanhee.

"Get to class cause I can't miss calculating numbers." He responded and walked to their class.

Changmin shook his head sipped his banana milk.

🥛 🥛 🥛

"Great, my former dad is the principal of the school." She ranted out.

"Former?" Chanhee and Changmin asked at the same time.

"It's a long story but I'm too lazy to explain, please bear with me." She sighed, "I have to go to work soon." Hyewon looked at her watch and back at the boys whom was drinking almond milk.

"Almond milk? Really?" She asked.

"Almond milk tastes bad but I love it anyways." Changmin smiled with dimples showing.

"I have to go soon aswell.." Chanhee took a break from sipping his milk.

"Oh, before you go, you haven't really tolf us much about yourself, and you've been disappearing out of the blue. Why don't you tell us?" Hyewon tilted her head.

"Wait! Before you start, where's Heejin?" Changmin asked.

Hyewon held her breath before coming up with a good answer. "She has cooking lessons. Why would you care?"

"Oh okay, continue on Chanhee." Side eyeing Hyewon he said, "By the way, I don't, if you're jealous." Changmin winked but it was miserable to watch, she sighed out and turned her head towards Chanhee.

"I actually live in a pretty rich neighborhood." He lied. "And.. I'm really good at cooking."

"Second one is a lie." Hyewon's lips turned into a thin line.

"I'm a really good cook in training." Chanhee corrected himself.

Hyewon raised her eyebrows up and down. "Oh, you should invite us to your house and show us how great your cooking skills are."

"About that.. It's pretty far from here.."

"We can commute." Hyewon responded right away.

"Chanhee-ah!!" They all heard. They all moved their head to the voice and saw a lady in her 60's coming their way. She was wearing a grey shirt, a beige cardigan, loose pants, worn out shoes and her hair was up in a messy bun.

Chanhee's eyes widened.

"Do you know her?" Changmin asked.

"No." He replied quickly.

The woman was able to hear it from the distance, and that one word caused a small break in her heart.
