Grayson POV
I was finishing up my shower, and got ready. I was going to hang out with Emma today. I changed into a white T-shirt, some Adidas pants, and my vans. I grabbed the car keys, said goodbye to Ethan, and drove to the hotel.
I took the elevator up to the 6th level and knocked on their door. A light skinned guy with dark brown eyes, wearing a Nike hat on, with a gray sweater opened the door. He stopped next to another guy, I wasn't sure who the one with the black hat was. He eyed me up and down. I'm guessing this is Nick, I think I remember him from the hospital.
"May I help you?" He asked raising his eyebrow
"I'm here to pick up Emma..." I said smiling
"Come in" He said rolling his eyes
"Nick, please stop being a dick" a girl said smacking his head
"Emma will be right back, she's with Coach right now. But you can take a seat" she said
"Thanks, Im Grayson" I said putting my hand out
"María, nice to meet ya. That's Davidson, or Nick " she said pointing at him
"You can call me Nick, only my friends call me Davidson" he said looking straight at me
"And in the black hat is our friend Anthony" she said pointing at the other guy
As soon as he said that, another guy walked in. He brought some bags, set his keys down, and walked over to nick and did a handshake.
"This is Alex, Emma's recent ex boyfriend" Nick said whispering the last part so Alex didn't hear.
My fists clenched a bit, and my jaw tightened. Was I jealous? Nah I couldn't be. I think it was obvious because Nick was smirking.
"So, why are you interested in my best friend?" Maria said smirking
"Um she's beautiful-"
"Bullshit. She's beautiful? Obviously this dumb ass only wants her for sex" Nick said shaking his head
"Nicholas! Get the fuck out!" Maria yelled
He, Anthony, and Alex walked out the room, and Alex was laughing. He never spoke a word to me.
"I'm so so so sorry about them" Maria said sighing
"It's fine" I said smiling
"They're just like protective I guess" she said grabbing her phone
"And Alex, um he's really her ex?" I said biting my lip
"Oh. Fucking Nick. Yeah, Uh it was like a year ago sorta, you have nothing to worry about though. I'm sure she's over it" she said smiling
"Oh okay" I said laughing
We sat there chatting for a bit, and after about 5 minutes Emma came in. She was wearing some leggings, with a hoodie, and some sneakers.
"Hey, Sorry Im late. Coach was talking to me about something important. Apparently, they aren't letting us use the stadium until 2 months. So they're moving the final" she explained to Maria
"Hey Grayson!" She said smiling
"Hey, you ready?"
"Uh, yeah. Let's head out"
I opened the door for her, and we walked out to my car. I opened the car door and she thanked me. I jogged over to the driver seat and got inside.
"So, where do you want to go? I asked starting the car
"Um I don't know, you invited me" she said laughing
"Alright... well I guess we can go to a small coffee shop Ethan and I go to" I said laughing
We drove to the coffee shop, got out, and headed inside. We grabbed a table, and the waitress took our order.
Emma POV
"Thanks for inviting me to hang out, I haven't really been out much besides for practice" I said smiling
"I just wanted to get to know you" he said smiling back
We started to talk about our lives, our family, and all that good stuff.
"So how does it feel to be famous?" I said raising an eyebrow and laughing
"Don't say it like that" he said laughing
"I don't know, Cool I guess. I love creating content with E, and having the support from our fans. It's such a great feeling. But it's like any other job, it gets stressful at times, and you just have to provide for people"
"Ah, sounds cool, I've just always wanted to know what it felt like to have all those people watching you. I don't know" I replied
"What do you mean? When you're out on that Field it's the same thing. All the people watching you, the journalists, it's crazy. I think I would be more nervous to be out there"
"But im not famous" I said laughing
"Not yet..."
"I don't know. What if I'm not good enough"
"Shut the fuck up" he said laughing
"I may not know much about soccer, but you're really good"
I blushed.
"I'm not going to say anything, but thanks" I said smiling
We stayed there for about two hours, but it had felt like forever. We were just ourselves, it wasn't awkward I felt like I had known him forever. When we decided to leave, we got back in the Jeep. His phone rang.
"Hello?"

"Uh, well I was going to take Emma home"
...
"I can ask her"
"Ethan wants to know if you want to go watch a movie" Grayson asked looking at me
"Um, I don't know. If that's alright with you.?"
"Of course it is!" He said smiling
"Alright man, we'll be right over"
He hung up and we drove to his house, I texted Maria that I was going to the movies with Grayson and Ethan.
When we got to Grayson's house, he got out and we went inside. We sat on the couch and waited for Ethan. After five minutes, Ethan came down, shirtless and in some shorts.
"Ethan, when the hell are you going to get ready?"
"Oh, you guys are here already? Gray you drive slow, I didn't expect this" Ethan said laughing as he ran upstairs
"He's such an idiot" Grayson said shaking his head
"But you love him..." I said smiling
"Yeah I love him because he's an idiot" he said lightly smacking my arm
"Aww cute" I said laughing.
Ethan ran downstairs, and we got up.
"Finally!" I said laughing
"It takes time to look good, ok? Oh and shotgun!" He said running outside
"It's ok, you can sit with me on the way back" Grayson said grabbing my hand
We got in the car, and drove to the movies. Ethan chose to see a random, weird movie, while I focused more on the food. We grabbed our food, and headed to the room.
We took our seats, I sat in between them. The movie wasn't bad, it was kinda scary. Grayson held my hand the entire time.
"Your such a baby" Ethan said laughing as we walked out
"Shutup, it's night all ready, and-"
"Shhh shh, no excuses" he said laughing
"I call shotgun!" I said laughing and ran to the Jeep
"Not if I get there first!" Ethan yelled
"Children, please behave" Grayson said rolling his eyes
I got to the car before Ethan, and he started complaining.
"What the fuck? How are you so fast??" He said panting
"Keep up sweetie, it's called working out" I said smiling
I got in the car, and the guys did as well. We started driving towards the hotel.
"Why don't you stay the night?" Ethan asked
"I can't, I'm supposed to be with my team. Plus, you guys just met me, and I don't want your parents to find it weird " I said laughing
"It feels like we've met you longer though" Grayson replied
"Exactly. We're basically best friends already" Ethan said smiling
"I wish I could, but I should really head back to the hotel"
"We don't want your friend dude getting mad either way." Grayson said as his hands tightened around the wheel
What was that about?
"Who?" Ethan asked
"Nate?"
Grayson stayed silent.
"Listen, um I'm sorry about anything he said to you while I was gone. He's just watching out for me. I'll talk to him"
"It's fine. It's just, I really, really like you" He whispered into my ear as we stopped at a red light.
I smiled as I looked down, and grabbed his hand. I mouthed "Me too" We held hands the entire way to the hotel. When we arrived, i got out, and said goodbye.
"We'll text you!" Ethan yelled
I turned back and nodded my head. I ran inside, and took the elevator up to our floor. I unlocked the door, and went inside. It was dark, and the only thing I could see was the light from someone's phone screen. Alex.
"Back so soon?" He asked
"Shutup" I said slightly laughing
I heard the bed move. He got up, and we sat on the couch. He smiled.
"Did you have a good time?"
I nodded, and smiled.
"Good. Listen, if anything happens, I want you to know that I'm here. You're such a great, beautiful girl, you don't deserve to be hurt like I hurt you. I still care about you Em." He said
"I'm sorry for messing up what we had, I'm sorry for lying to you. I'm such an asshole. I ruined everything we had. You don't have to forgive me, but I still care about you." He started to tear up
"Alex..." I sighed
"I can't say I've completely forgiven you. But you're such a good friend. That all happened in the past, we can move past it. But we both need to move on. It's for the best"
He nodded his head, lightly pecked my cheek, and got up.
"Goodnight Em"
"Goodnight Alex"
