The Home of the Marshall family. August 26th 1965.

A few days after the time spent with the police, Kathy was startled when her parents came into her room. They wanted to talk about her current 'situation' as they referred to her now.

"Your dad and I have been talking love," her mother began slowly.

"What about?" Kathy felt uneasy, but didn't know why.

"Well, about you," her mother continued, "and the best way in which we can deal with things and still be respectable."

"Respectable?"

"Yes. We have to bear in mind your father's standing in the diocese." Her mother looked surprised at Kathy's expression. "A pregnant unmarried daughter is just not done Kathy. I'm sorry."

Kathy looked from her mother to her father is disbelief. "Is this a joke?" she said suddenly, "Because if it is, it's not funny!"

"I've spoken to someone I know kathy, " her father explained very solemly, "I've managed to secure you a place in a home for unmarried mothers. You can stay there until the baby is born. It will be adopted and then you can come back and forget all this nonsense."

"WHOA! Wait a minute! I'm not having this baby adopted. I've already told you, if I have to go through the whole pregancy and birth, then I want to keep it!"

"Kathy. This thing inside you will be a constant reminder of what George did to you!"

"Dad?" Kathy sounded almost weary, "What George did to me will NEVER go away. You can't make the fact that I've been raped just vanish, no matther how uncomfortable it makes you feel!" She threw in the final comment after seeing her father cringe when she had said the word 'raped.' She looked at both her parents, fighting back tears and unable to believe they could be so insensitive to her feelings. "I'm hoping that this child, who will be YOUR grandchild, will help me to move on from what has happened. I see it as being something positive and good to come out of the whole situation! An innocent little baby."

"An innocent little baby conceived in violence Kathy. Even the Bible says that is wrong!"

She stood up. "Mum, dad, I'm twenty two years old. I'm not some kid of sixteen falling pregnant. I'm educated. I have a well paid job. You can not force me to go into a home for unmarried mothers nor can you force me to have my child adopted! It's 1965 NOT 1865!"

"And just explain then," said her father, now beginning to be angry, "explain how you are going to tell your headteacher that you are pregnant even though you are not married. And should he decide to keep you on despite your 'condition', just how are you going to support yourself? Where will you live? How will you cope as your pregnancy become more obvious? What happens when you go in to labour?" He saw how Kathy's face changed. "Mmmm, I thought not! None of this has occured to you has it Kathy?"

"Why can't I stay here?" she pleaded. "You're my parents! Mum, please. Will you look after me? Be with me when I give birth? Please?"

Her mother blinked back tears. "I can't Kathy. I have to support your dad on this. I'm sorry. The home for unmarried mothers is the best option. If you want to keep the child with you for a few months afterwards, to see if you can cope, then that's up to you. There's nothing to say you can't try then have the baby adopted later on."

"So you want me out. Gone?"

Her mother nodded. "It's not right for your dad's position love...unless...."

"Unless what?"

"Unless you forgive George for what has happened. Put it behind you both and get married like you both wanted to do. That way Kathy, you will be saved the disgrace of being an unmarried mother and your child won't have the stigma of being a bastard!"

Kathy looked at her mother in disbelief. "You think it will be that easy. Let George say sorry. Then we'll all live happily ever after?" She fought back the tears "I understand you want me gone so that nobody know I'm pregan t but please, can I stay for a little bit longer?" She pressed her dress against her stomach. She was desparate. "See, you can't tell that I'm pregnant yet. Please mum? Dad?"

Kathy watched as her mother turned to her dad. He looked at her thoughtfully, "You can stay til the beginning of January, as long as there's no sign of the pregnancy showing! Nobody must know what has happened or the fact that you are pregnant!"

"Oh Thank you!" Kathy heaved a huge sigh of relief. It gave her several months to try and organise something for herself. Marrying George would NEVER even be contemplated and as for the home for unmarried mothers? It would be the very last resort, of that she was sure!"

Abbey Road Studios. August 26th  1965.

He heard him, coming up the corridor with that cocky, irritating whistle. He was fuming. Ever since Cyn had told him about the extra drink that he'd plied George with.

"OK Johnny!" Paul walked into the studio,a self satisfied grin on his face. He looked around then looked at his watch. "Where is everyone? Even George Martins not here?" he looked at John's face. "Hey what's up Johnny mate?"

"Why the fuck did you do it?"

Paul looked uneasy. He knew an angry John was not to be messed with. "What's wrong mate?"

"Think back to the night of the 'HELP!' premier please Paul."

"OK?"

"The four of us. Our drinking games just before we left to go home."

Paul smiled at the memory. "Yeah!"

"George stopping after his usual two. The rest of us having three?"

Paul nodded, looking warily at John.

"Only you made sure that our Georgie boy didn't stop at two didn't you? You kept on at him to down a third drink? Remember that do you?"

Paul laughed. "Yeah. That Kathy bird was checking up on him. I was sick of her stopping George enjoying himself!"

"What was in the drink Paul?"

"Whiskey."

"Whiskey?" John stepped towards him, "Just whiskey?"

Paul hesitated before saying yes.

"Paul, you've always been a shit liar," said John, "What was in the fucking drink, apart from the whiskey!?!"

"OK! I put a bit of pot in it too. Loosen him up a bit!!"

"POT! You fucking moron  McCartney! He never touches the  stuff because of what it does to him!" Paul looked at John, completely blank. He had no idea what he was talking about. "You've forgotten what happened the  two times George tried pot haven't you? Well, our quiet George become a monster if he touches the stuff. Completely out of his tree. Violent. Vile. Then he has the biggest stiffy ever seen and it can't be tamed."

Paul started laughing. "Yes, so it would have been fun for him and Kathy when they got home then!"

John shook his head.  Paul looked at him. "Look, when George gets here, I'll apologise to him. OK?"

"He won't be coming in Paul."

"He won't? Why?"

"Our Georgie is currently in police custordy."

"What the fuck! Why?" Paul was astounded!

"Why? Well, some bastard spiked his drink with pot  even though he knew George avoided the stuff because of what it did to him. Well, because of the pot, our Georgie, you know the quiet one we all love? The one who's just got engaged to his girlfriend he adores? Well our Georgie, thanks to you McCartney,  kicked the shit out of Kathy and the raped her!"

"No way!"

"Yes Paul. You, being a total arse, has fucked up both George's and Kathy's life because of your petty jealousy. He's in custordy and she's a real mess."

Paul looked at John. "He attacked her? Seriously? Come on John. You're taking the piss!"

John shook his head in disbelief "Look Paul, I'm not exaggerating when I tell you. He attacked Kathy, sexually assaulted her and then raped her! I don't care what you think of the girl, she didn't deserve that! I hope you're proud of yourself!"

John stood up and picked up his belongings.

"Where are you going?" Paul asked.

"Me. I'm going home then I'm gonna start looking in the jobs section of the paper."

"Why?"

"Because Paul, not only have your actions destroyed George's existence but you've killed the band. He's looking at a long prison stretch for what he's done. Don't bother keeping in touch Paul. None of us want anything to do with you after this!" John shrugged and left the room.
