Jayla Santiago's POV
I make myself comfortable and I sit on the bed.
I look up at the ceiling and then lay back, taking in the smell of the bed, inhaling deeply.
It even smells like him.
"Jayla?" A voice asks.
I sit up quickly.
Luis.
He stands at the entrance to his room, looking at me quizzically.
I scan my eyes over him slowly, drinking in his appearance.
He looks so good.
His clothes cling to his upper body muscle, defining his outline and the fact that he took his jacket off makes it so much harder not to stare.
"H- How did you get up here?" He asks.
I take out our copy of the house his house keys and dangle it between my thumb and index finger.
His family has a copy of ours and our family has a copy of theirs.
"Why are you here?" He asks me, not budging from where he is standing.
"We gotta talk" I respond simply, standing up from the bed.
He shakes his head.
"There ain't nothing to talk about J." He says shaking his head and walking into the room properly.
"You know there is" I tell him.
"No! There really isn't' he sighs exasperatedly.
"You like me, I like you, but we can't be together because not only am a year older than you, your brother is my best friend!" He tells me.
"You're completely off limits and I can't do this to him!"
I walk up to him and he steps back.
"Jayla, don't" He tells me.
I don't listen.
I wrap my arms around him and lay my face on his chest.
"So you admit that you like me?" I ask with a giggle.
He hums a yes, hugging me back gently.
I look up at him.
"I didn't hear you" I tease.
"I ain't saying it again" he grumbles.
I chuckle.
Oh really?
I kiss his neck.
"You gotta say it again" I say pecking his neck gently.
"Nope" he responds.
"Yes" I say repeating my actions.
"Nah" he responds, but I know he's finding it hard to resist.
I push him up against the door, closing it.
"Admit it" I say, kissing his neck and then biting a little.
He responds with a small groan.
"Okay, yes Jayla!" He growls. "You know I do."
I smirk and look up at him.
He looks at me and then smiles.
But then his smile fades and he pulls away.
"We can't do this..." he tells me.
"Why?" I pout.
"Your brother... He would kill me!" He says.
"Leo treats me like a younger brother and I should treat you like my younger sister, Jayla. You're 15, I'm 16. It can never work" He says with a shrug.
"Your sister, huh?" I ask, a little hurt.
He nods his head, yes.
I look at him properly again.
He looks just as pained as I am.
Liar.
I pull him forwards and kiss him.
He starts to pull away, but then decides against it, kissing me back.
He wraps his arms around my waist and holding me close.
I push him towards his bed and we fall on it, causing it to creak.
We continue to kiss and deepen it further.
He licks my bottom lip asking for entrance, which I allow him, deepening the kiss further.
My hands find the waistband of his pants and I am just about to pull them down, when my phone rings.
I sigh and pull away.
I look at the contact.
It's my brother.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear.
"Hello?" I ask.
It is then that I realise how breathless I sound.
"Where are you?" He asks. He doesn't even seem to notice.
Luis starts to kiss my neck, gently leaving hot trails as he goes, nipping at my bare skin and teasing me.
"I'm at Angela's house" I lie, my eyes darting towards Luis, who stares back at me with a small smirk on his face.
He quietly kisses my outer ear, causing my breath to hitch inaudibly.
"Okay, you'll need to stay there for the night sis... We got s few issues" he says to me.
My heart jumps.
"What kind of issues?" I ask him in a rush.
The line is suddenly quiet.
"I'll explain everything to you in detail, when I pick you up tomorrow" he says to me.
I sigh.
"Okay, Leo. We'll talk tomorrow" I say.
I'm just about to hung up the phone, when my brother's voice stops me.
"Hey, wait!" He says and I physically wince.
Please don't do it, please don't do it, please don't-
"Tell Luis I said 'Hey' and that I'll deal with his ass when he comes to school tomorrow and your ass, when you get home. I'm way too tired to deal with both of you and your shit right now. Goodnight" he says, before, hanging up his phone.
I am in complete shock!
I get off of Luis and pace around the room.
He knows!
He fucking knows?!
How, even?!
"Shit!" Luis mutters, pulling on a shirt.
When did it even come off?
He stands.
"I think it's best I sleep in the guest room" he sighs.
I nod.
"I agree. Just until we completely clear this up with my brother and we make sure dad doesn't find out" I respond.
He nods again curtly and then walks out of his room.
I sigh and then flop onto his bed again.
We are both so screwed!
I get out of my clothes and get into bed. With my mind buzzing about what will happen tomorrow.
oh God, I feel so sick.
