Hearing my alarm go off, I tried my best to creep out of bed without waking up Nadia. What made things harder was the fact that every time I made a move, she'd tightened her arms around me.
Sighing out, I decide to do what I didn't want to do—wake her up.
"Nadia" I whispered into her ear I shook her softly. First attempt got not response, so I tried a second time.
"Baby girl" I said a little louder, that seemed to do the trick.
"Mmmm" she hummed out before snuggling closer to me
"Baby, I'm sorry for waking you up but I have to go" I said as I tried to pull her arm off of me
"What time is it?" she said almost inaudibly but I understood what she said.
"It's 6:10" I answer back "Nadia I have to get home, I have a long day ahead of me" I said coaxing her to let me go
"You're so warm though" she whined out "I don't want you to go"
"Trust me, if I could stay I would" I said kissing her forehead as I rubbed her back
"No you can't leave me" she said hooking her leg over mine.
My hand made its way to her ass as I gave it a tight squeeze, "Nadia" I said warningly
"That actually felt good, keep doing that and I'm for sure not moving" she said laughing sleepily
"I'll give you all the booty rubs and squeezes in the world when I see you Friday if...you let me go" I said bribing her
"Okay fine" she said her nose scrunching a little. She then released me causing me to chuckle
"You're so cute"
"Whatever" she grumbled turning away from me
"I'm sorry Baby" I felt bad leaving her, but I had shit to get done "I'll make it up to you"
Climbing out of bed, I turned my phone flashlight on to look for my shirt I discarded last night before bed.
I threw my shirt back on and using the phone light, I navigated to the night stand to grabbed my keys. Finding my slides, I slipped those back on too.
Turning back towards the bed, I saw Nadia already fell back asleep. Placing one last kiss on her cheek, I left to head home.
Waking up, I felt refreshed— a weight lifted off my shoulders. All my hidden doubts and insecurities washed away all thanks to Hunter.
I trusted that he meant everything he said and I knew he was genuine. The reassurance was much needed.
With that I got up from bed with renewed energy to start my day. I was interrupted by Celine standing at my door way.
"You okay to go to work today?" She asked with worry on her face
"Yeah I'm better now" I nodded "I can't stay in even if I wanted to, I already missed a day"
"That's true. I'm glad your okay, you had me a little scared there"
"Yeah I know, I'm sorry" I felt a little guilty because if I had listen she wouldn't have to worry. Some good did come out of the situation though, I could say I felt more comfortable to try this relationship thing with Hunter.
"Alright, well I'm off to work" a confused expression made its way into my face
"Why are you leaving so early?" Celine and I usually left at the same time
"You do see the time right? If you don't start getting ready now you are gonna be late for work" she said
"Why didn't you wake me?!" I said rushing to my closet to pick out an outfit
"You usually wake up by your alarm and when I came in here saw you were still in bed I thought you weren't gonna go to work" she explained
"Jesus Celine! Next time wake me up!" I said rushing
"How bout this I take the taxi today and you take my car?"
Turning to her abruptly I stared "are you serious?" Celine never would let me drive her BMW before today.
"Yeah" she said dangling her keys in my face "take it or leave it before I change my mind" she sighed
Grabbing the keys from her hand I squeezed her in a hug "thank you, thank you" I said excitedly before pulling back
"Now Nadia, this car is my fucking baby. Ruin him and I ruin you, got it?" She said pointing her finger at me
"Loud and clear" I said with the widest grin
"Okay I gotta go, love you" she said walking towards the door
"Love you too" I said back
Once she was out the door, I did a little happy dance. Celine's job payed her big money and with that she was able to buy this car.
Realization finally hit that I need to get ready, or I was gonna be extremely late to work.
I arrived slightly late to work, I had to run inside the building and jump on the elevator and rush to my desk. I did so in hopes Mr. Corver didn't notice I wasn't at my desk.
By the time I sat down I was out of breath.
"Well this a first" turning to the doorway I saw Ruby standing there. "You're usually always on time"
"Didn't set up my alarm" I said trying to catch my breath at best I could
Right as Ruby was about to reply my phone dinged. Grabbing it I checked it to see I had a message from Laurel:
"Damn" I said out loud
"What" Ruby asked
"Laurel caught something and won't be coming in today"
"Aw I hope she's okay" I didn't believe her when she said it. I could sense that she didn't give two fucks about Laurel. I still have yet to figure out what the problem was.
"Mr. Corver called out today too, must be our lucky day" she said wiggling her eyebrows. I tried to look pass that shady comment she made as I forced a smile on my face and nodded.
"Since she's not here, you want to go to lunch with me?" She asked cheerily
"Uh yeah, sure" I said hesitantly
"Okay cool" she said smiling back to her desk
I made a mental note to ask her what her problem was with Laurel
Unbeknownst to me, Ruby had invited other co-workers to lunch along with us and I knew then it wasn't he right time to bring it up.
So I pushed it to the back of my head once again in hopes that I could find a more convenient time to bring it up.
A/N: I know this chapter is short, sorry it's the best I could do an hour before my class starts 😂😂😂
