We've reached over 10K reads! And over 320 votes! Amazing! Even after not updating for a week, this story kept it's #1 spot for Pearl, Marina, Marie, and Callie. Unbelievable. Not going to lie though, I've had a couple ideas for this chapter, but I wasn't sure if you all would like it, or if I wanted something to happen before it. Either way, I felt I've left you all without an update for a while, so I wanted to get a chapter out today. Also, who noticed a small detail in the last chapter, that will hint at what's coming, plus will be moved along in this one?
Edit: I just thought of something I could do, before what I was ABOUT to start writing (It wasn't anything big).
Feel free to leave suggestions for something to happen, and I will see if I want to put it in a chapter. The only thing, is, like what I try to do with this story, it has to fit in with the story that is in the games. So, for example, no stuff like Agent 4/(Y/N) going down into the underground and finding Agent 8/3. If it happened in the games and such, it happened in this. This story just fills in the cracks.
My splatfest team lost... Boo. But loved Marina's reaction.
BTW, since I just got done with my first week of school, I'd like to say, I HATE English. Least favorite subject. Isn't that ironic (nod to Bo Burnham)?
Marina POV
Marina woke up on the couch. She was laying up against (Y/N). Her tentacles were wrapped around him.
She quickly yanked her tentacles back.
Marina: Geez. These things have like a mind of their own.
She looked over and saw Pearl was wrapped around his other side. She stood up, picked Pearl, and laid her on the ground in front of the couch.
Marina went to go make breakfast, but she turned around and saw Pearl was back on the couch, and next to (Y/N) again.
She walked back over, picked up Pearl, and started shaking her. [Shake the baby!]
Pearl: AH! GEEZ! Okay! I'm up! I'm up!
Marina set Pearl down, and then clasped her hands together.
Marina: Good!
She said with a smile.
Marina: Besides, we've got work to do.
Pearl was still rubbing her eyes.
Pearl: Huh? Oh, right! The Cap'n.
Pearl and Marina went over and got to their computers.
Pearl: Hey, Marina!
Marina: What?
Pearl: How come you never stay at your place, that much, anymore?
Marina: Because I don't want to see what you two would do, if I left you two alone in this big house.
Pearl: *Giggles* Sure.

(Y/N) POV
(Y/N) slowly started opening his eyes. He stood up. He then cracked everything from his back, to his neck, to his fingers.
(Y/N): Oh, that feels REAL good.
(Y/N): Hm? Who knew. I'd wake up nicely, if the sun didn't flash in my eyes.
He looked around.
(Y/N): Where'd those two get off to?
He started searching the house for Pearl and Marina.
He then came across them. Marina was on her laptop, and Pearl was on her computer.
(Y/N): Hey, what's up?
Marina quickly shut her laptop, and Pearl blocked her computer with her entire body.
(Y/N): Okay? You guys didn't put up secret cameras in my shower or something did you?
They both started blushing and speaking gibberish.
(Y/N): Forget it, I'm going to go take a shower... Hopefully without cameras.
He left, and went to go take a shower.
Pearl POV
Pearl: Note to self: Add cameras to the sho-
Marina hit Pearl on the head, lightly.
(Y/N) POV
He came out of the shower, towel around waist, and drying his hair with another towel. Then, he saw Pearl and Marina going through his clothes.
Marina was blushing, and quickly jumped into the closet. Pearl just continued sitting on the bed, staring at him.
Pearl: 'Sup?
(Y/N): Ugh. This is my life.
He took a second to collect himself.
(Y/N): What're you two doing?
Marina spoke muffled, from within the closet.
Marina: Well, we said you should visit our work sometime, so we thought we could do it today, if you were free.
(Y/N): Okay, but why are you going through my clothes?
Pearl: Because. This is Inkopolis News. You can't go dressed in any bit of clothes. You've got to dress fresh.
(Y/N): Ugh... Okay.
He sat on the bed, in his towel, waiting for them to pick his clothes out.
Marina stayed in the closet, due to (Y/N) sitting in nothing but a towel. Pearl was sitting on the bed, taking the clothes from Marina, when she handed them to her, but her face was blushing a lot. She gave little looks over at him just sitting there, but would quickly look away.
After a while, his clothes were picked out. Pearl walked out of the room, and stood at the door. Marina quickly rushed out, covering her eyes. Once she was out, Pearl shut the door behind them.
(Y/N) got changed and then returned downstairs.
(Y/N): So what now?
Pearl: Chill.
Marina: We've got time before we have to go. We're going to go a little early, so we can show you around a bit.
Pearl: As of now, go get some food.
(Y/N) then looked up in horror.
(Y/N): I didn't eat.
He then rushed to the kitchen, and started chowing down.
Pearl: Hey! You're going to eat me out of house and home!
(Y/N) spoke with his mouth full.
(Y/N): Sharry.

Marina: You're going to LOVE this place. It's amazing! All the equipment through the place that is used to do what we do. It really is fascinating.
Pearl: Don't mind her. She's way too smart for her own good.
Marina: It just fascinates me.
(Y/N) laughed at this.
A little while later, they arrived at the place.
Marina: Now, we got you a pass, so you are allowed inside here. Obviously you won't be able to go on the air with us, but you can watch.
(Y/N): Not much else for me to do today. Seeing how Inkopolis News works sounds interesting.
They were showing (Y/N) all around the entire building. Marina would explain, in depth, what everything did, and the process of what they did. Pearl, would mouth with her hand, while saying stuff like, "Blah," behind Marina's back. (Y/N) would laugh at this. Every time Marina would turn around to see what was happening, they would stop.
Once Marina's News Tour™ was over, it was about time for the news broadcast to start.
Marina: So... What do you think?
(Y/N): This place is AWESOME! Although, I'd prefer a more action filled job.
Pearl: Sure. Living with us is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to you.
(Y/N): You don't know my life!
He said this like a sassy woman on a sitcom.
Marina: *Giggle* Welp, see ya. Hope you like the broadcast.
Pearl and Marina then entered the news room, to prepare for the broadcast.
(Y/N) then gave a mischievous smile.

Marie POV
Marie was just sitting in Octo Canyon. Bored. Callie was off somewhere.
Marie: Hm... I wonder what (Y/N)'s up to.
She decided to text him.

Marie: Hey.
Marie: What're you up to?
(Y/N): Nothing much.
(Y/N): Are you watching the news?
Marie: No.
(Y/N): Turn it on.
Marie: Okay.
----------
Marie walked over to the couch, sat down, and turned on the television. She got to the news channel, and saw the usual. Pearl and Marina were doing the news.
Marie: I miss doing this with Callie.
Then, Marie noticed, behind them, (Y/N) was outside.
He waved at the camera.
She doesn't know why, but she waved back, with a smile on her face.
He then pulled out his phone.

(Y/N): Are you watching?
Marie: Yeah?
----------
He then started writing something, on something else.
He then finished writing it, and capped his marker.
He held up a board that read, "Hi, Marie!"
Marie gave a slight chuckle.
He then started writing something else on a different board.
This one read, "Pearl looks like a bunny!"
Marie laughed super hard.
Once again, he started writing something again. The new sign read, "I've got plenty more signs!"
Pearl and Marina looked over at the window, but he had quickly ran behind the wall before they saw him.
Marie smiled, stood up, and headed to Inkopolis Square. Once she got there, she ran over to the window.
(Y/N) was there laughing. He had a ton of signs, and a couple of markers.
(Y/N): Hey, Marie. What're you doing here?
Marie: Well, I was bored, and you looked like you were having fun.
(Y/N): Yeah.
He held up a sign and a marker for her.
Marie: Thank you.
She wrote on a sign, "Callie's SUPER lazy!"
After a little while, Marie got a message from Callie, which read, "What did you say!"
Marie wrote on another sign, "She saw it!" and held it up.
(Y/N): Okay, Marie, you're going to need to trust me on this.
~Not too long later~
(Y/N) POV
Marie: Are you sure of this?
(Y/N) was in squid form, in Marie's hands.
(Y/N): Of course. I've thought this through thoroughly for those three seconds.
Marie gave a long sigh.
Marie: Okay.
She started swinging (Y/N), then once he gained enough momentum, she let go, and threw him at the window.
He collided with the window really hard.
This made Pearl and Marina jump. They looked over and saw (Y/N), in form, against the window.
Pearl & Marina: What are you DOING?!
The anger in their voice was ever-present.
They then saw Marie a little distance away.
Marie started running.
(Y/N): Hey! Don't leave me!
She turned around, grabbed him, and started running again.
(Y/N): Snatch-and-run y'all. Snatch-and-run!
After a little bit of running.
(Y/N): Are we safe?
Marie: Yea- Wait.
Marie stopped.
(Y/N): What?
She was holding him in front of her face, then dropped him onto the ground.
Marie: Why am I carrying you?
(Y/N): Because I fit into the over-head luggage.
He said looking up at her.
Marie: Just turn back already.
(Y/N): Fine.
He then did so.
(Y/N): Well...
Marie: Well, what?
(Y/N): Do you think they caught us?
Marie gave him the really look. She then shoved him, while laughing.
They stood there for a second.
(Y/N): Well... What now?
Marie: Well, I hit record before I left. So, you want to see what it looked like for everyone else?
(Y/N): Sure!
They then returned to Octo Canyon, to watch their shenanigans. They were laughing hard at all the things they wrote.
After a while, it was getting late, so (Y/N) was going to go back to the Square to what he was dreading, Pearl and Marina. They were not going to be happy with him.
(Y/N): Welp, I'll see ya later, Marie.
Marie: Yep, just remember, you can always stop by.
(Y/N): I'll keep that in mind. He then returned to the Square. Once he got there, he started walking around, looking for Pearl and Marina. He couldn't find them, and was left scratching his head.
(Y/N): Where are they?
They then slowly started popping up behind him, without him noticing.
Pearl & Marina: Oh, (Y/N).
(Y/N): Uh oh...
