Clover's POV:

After I finished cleaning up the lab, I shut the lights off and shut the door behind me. I headed towards my uncle's office to see him before I left. "Did you find what you were looking for?" He asked me curiously as I walked through the door. "I guess you could say that." I replied, running a hand through my hair. He studied me with his gray eyes for a few minutes before he spoke up once more. "You've changed, Clover. I noticed it earlier, but I didn't have a reason to mention it until now." He said as he brushed some of his long white hair out of his face. "How so? How have I changed?" I asked curiously with furrowed brows. "You seem more self aware than you use to be. And there's another sort of energy with you, but I can't tell what it is." He replied, and my heart started beating faster. 'Did this have anything to do with Will? A part of me thought it was, but maybe it was just because Derek was no longer deluding me down.' I thought inside of my head. It very well could be both as well. "Well, that's what humans do isn't it? Change... evolve?" I replied, and he agreed. There was a look in his eyes like he knew something, but he wasn't quite sure if he should share it with me. We said our goodbyes and I messaged Oliver to come and pick me up. He was shocked that I was at the college, but he didn't say anything. I guess he figured I needed my own space and that I'd end up telling him what I was up to eventually. When we got back to the apartment we found Will cooking dinner for us. "It smells amazing in here." I said, and Will smiled happily at my comment. "Yeah, it does. What are you making?" Oliver asked as he took off his jacket. I took my jacket off as well, it was pretty warm in the apartment. "I made us a salad, spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, and a chocolate cake." Will replied happily. "Holy crap, we'll be eating like kings tonight!" Oliver joked lightly, but he was right. It smelled great and I was starving. "It's just sort of my thank you for letting me stay here." Will said, running a hand through his hair awkwardly. "Aww. That's sweet." Oliver said with a smile. "Yes, he is." I said softly, but Will ended up hearing me anyway. I could tell by the smile that spread across his face. Oliver opened a few Windows to let some cool air in, and it felt pretty good inside the apartment then. "Come here. I missed you all day." Will said as he opened his arms to me. "I've missed you too." I replied as I wrapped my arms around him. He wrapped his arms around me as well, and I just breathed in his lovely scent. "I have to talk to you later." I said in a whisper, and he nodded as we broke the hug. After Oliver changed his clothes we gathered at the table and started eating the amazing food Will had prepared for us. We shared little pieces of our day, but I couldn't share much. All I said was that I visited my uncle, who works at the college. "He's the scientist, right?" Oliver asked curiously before he stuffed his face with spaghetti. "Yeah." I replied. "Cool, I thought he was." He said after he swallowed the food in his mouth. I noticed Will's eyes flick over at me briefly, but I pretended not to notice. I'd explain everything to him later when Oliver was sound asleep. After we finished eating we all took a hand in cleaning the kitchen and washing the dishes. Once everything was clean and put away we hung out in the living room and watched some tv. Before long, Oliver retreated to his bedroom so he could get ready for work in the morning. Just to be a little more private, Will joined me in my room so I could tell him what I was really up to today. "What did you wanna talk to me about?" He asked me curiously after we sat down on my bed. "I wasn't completely honest about what I did today." I admitted, and he urged me to continue. I told him about my dream and how it made me wanna know how he came back. I let him know that I went to his old house and collected water samples to test at my uncle's lab at the college. The entire time I told him all of this he just sat there in silence, and it scared me beyond belief. After I finished my narrative he just looked at me for what felt like eternity. "You wanna know how I got back?" He asked just to clarify my intentions. "Yes." I replied. "Well, you're half right actually. Your DNA did charge the molecules that I'm made of, but I only used their energy. I'm not a part of you, and you're not a part of me. You don't have to worry about me invading your brain space." He said the last part with a slight laugh. I breathed a sigh of relief, I thought he was gonna be furious with me. "So... you aren't mad at me?" I asked him curiously, just to make sure. "Of course not. How could I be mad at you for just being curious? Being curious use to be my job. Curiosity made me want to become a scientist in the first place." He said with a small smile on his face. 'Thank god!' I thought inside of my head. "Good." I said with a slight laugh. We sat there in comfortable silence for a while before either of us spoke up again. "What I'd like to know is why Evelyn didn't come back with me." He said. "Well, maybe there wasn't enough energy in my DNA. Or maybe there wasn't enough of my DNA." I said with furrowed brows. "That could be the issue, but I'm not quite sure. She did pass away before I did, and well... maybe she's lost forever." He said, and my heart ached. "Don't say that. She isn't lost forever. We'll find a way to bring her back." I said. "Really? You'd really help me bring her back!?" He asked me curiously with happiness in his eyes. It was a level of happiness that I never seen in his beautiful brown eyes before. "Of course." I said sincerely. "You're the best, Clover!" He said as he attacked me with a lovely hug. I giggled and hugged him back. We got up off of my bed and we said goodnight to each other, but before he left my room he kissed my cheek. My heart skipped a beat and melted at the same time like before. 'Stop doing that to my heart. If you don't... it's gonna be so much harder for me to let you go when we bring your wife back.' I thought, sadly in my head as I closed my bedroom door. It took me a lot longer to fall asleep tonight, because sad thoughts plagued my mind. And when I finally did fall asleep it was a restless sleep. I woke up to the sound of rain hitting my bedroom window and a bad headache. 'Just my luck.' I thought as I rubbed sleep from my eyes. I slowly got out of bed and took two Tylenol right away before I got ready for the day. Once I was dressed I walked out into the living room and found a beautiful woman in the room with Will. She was tall and had dark hair. 'That must be Evenly, but how is she here?' I asked inside of my head. Her and Will were talking, but when I came closer they stopped. "What's going on?" I asked them curiously. "Clover, I can't stay here anymore. I wanna be with Evelyn, and I can't be with her if I'm here with you." Will said with a sympathetic look in his eyes. "But... you can't go. We'll... we'll figure out some way where the both of you can stay. Just... please don't go. Please don't leave me." I said as tears filled my eyes. "I'm sorry, I can't." He said before he took Evelyn's hand and they both turned to that practical stuff. They disappeared before my eyes. "NO!! Come back!! Come back!!" I yelled as I fell to my knees and tears poured out of my eyes like a waterfall. "Please come back." I said in a broken whisper that was barely audible. I jolted awake and found a pair of arms wrapped around me. "Shhh. It's okay, I'm right here. I'm right here, I won't leave you." I heard Will's sweet voice whisper to me as his arms tightened around me. I snuggled into him and cried for real this time. "Shhh. It's alright. It was just a nightmare." He whispered softly as he left gentle kisses on my head and temple. When I stopped crying I broke the hug slightly and realized that he was holding me in his lap. There was a soft, sympathetic, and concerned look in his beautiful big brown eyes. "You were yelling for me in your sleep," He said as he sweetly wiped my tears away. "What kind of horrible dream did you have?" He asked curiously with furrowed brows. I told him what had happened in my dream, and tears filled his eyes. "I'd never do that to you, Clover. I'd never break your heart." He said, softly as he pulled me back into a hug. "What time is it?" I asked him curiously. I really hoped I hadn't woke Oliver up, and I doubt that I did. That boy could sleep through an air raid. "It's two thirty in the morning." He replied as he handed me a cold bottle of water. "Thanks." I replied as I cracked the bottle open and drank from it greedily. "You should get back to sleep or you'll feel like hell in the morning." He said as he lifted me off of his lap gently. "Stay with me.... please." I said, hoping he wouldn't go. I didn't wanna be alone because I was afraid of having another nightmare. "Sure, sweetheart." He said softly. He shut the lights off and climbed into bed with me. He made sure to give me some space, but I snuggled into his chest anyway. He chuckled lightly as he wrapped his arms around me. "If you wanted to cuddle, all you had to do was ask." He said. I could hear the smile in his voice, which made me smile too. "I didn't wanna seem needy." I replied. "After having a nightmare like that, anyone deserves to be needy for comfort." He replied as he snuggled closer to me. I breathed in his scent and focused on the sound of his beating heart. Before I knew it I fell into a deep sleep. The morning brought me breakfast in bed, thanks to Will. He was just being really sweet to me today, and knew it was due to the nightmare I had last night. He felt sorry even though it wasn't his fault. "How are you feeling this morning?" He asked me curiously as I joined him in the living room. I had already gotten showered and dressed, so I didn't have to leave Will's side any time soon. "I'm feeling way better than I did last night." I replied with a small sign. "Good. I'm glad." He said as he gave me a sweet side hug that warmed my insides. My phone buzzed inside of my pocket, and when I saw who it was I rolled my eyes. "Who is it?" He asked me curiously with furrowed brows. "Derek." I replied with a grimace. "Ignore it. You don't need his negative energy in your life, especially now." He said as he placed one of his hands on my shoulder before he moved it down and started to gently rub my back. "If I don't reply he's just gonna keep texting me." I replied.

Derek: Hey, I'm sorry for everything I said and did to you. You didn't deserve any of that. You were too good to me, and I was to stupid to realize that.

Derek: I miss you, Clover. Please come back to me. I love you.

Me: You might be sorry, but it's too late. I don't want anything to do with you anymore, and I mean that. We're better off without each other.

After sending that message I blocked his number so he wouldn't be able to bother me anymore. But I knew he wouldn't give up that easily. I'm just glad I had Will and Oliver on my side if Derek tries to do anything crazy. "Are you okay?" Will asked me curiously in a soft tone. "Yeah, I'm fine." I replied with a small smile as I laid my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and I felt so safe with him. 'Evelyn, you're one lucky woman to have been able to call him yours.' I thought inside of my head and my heart ached a little. I just felt happy that I was able to call him my friend, especially since that's all he and I would ever be... that's all he and I could be. His heart belongs to someone else, and I just had to accept that. A few minutes went by and we decided we should actually get some things done today. I messaged Jessica and asked her if I could have a ride into town. We needed to get some groceries in the house. "Well, I guess I'll see you later then." Will said as he ran a hand through his hair. "What? No, you're coming with me. I mean... if you want to." I said, hoping that he'd join me. "Really?" He asked as a smile spread across his handsome face. "Of course." I replied. He followed me out of the apartment and we locked up before we left. "Hey, Jessica. This is my friend and roommate, Will Caster." I said once we reached her car. "Oh, hi. It's nice to meet you, Will." She said as we got inside. I took the passenger seat and Will sat in the back behind me. Her and Will made small talk, and I hoped that they'd get along. I really wanted to have some kind of party so we all could hangout together sometime soon. "So, what do you do for a living?" Jessica asked him curiously. "Well... I'm just trying to get my life together right now." He replied. "I know what you mean. I'm still trying to get mine together." She replied with an understanding look on her face. After a while of driving and talking we finally ended up at the grocery store. "I won't be able to take you two back home. I'm already a little late for work." She said as we got out of the car. "That's fine. I'm sorry for making you late." I said, feeling guilty. "It's okay. It wasn't your fault at all; I was already running late before you texted me." She replied. We said our goodbyes and she left the parking lot. Will and I walked through the automatic doors of the grocery store and he grabbed us a shopping cart. As we walked through the isles I could feel people watching us, and when I say us I mean him. Half of the female population in the store was practically drooling over him. I understood why, because he's a very handsome man, but it just made me feel uncomfortable. I felt like they were judging me because I was there with him, like I wasn't good enough to be breathing the same air as him. "People are staring." I whisper to him as I put a few things in our cart. "I know, but I don't care. Let them. People do little else." He whispered back, and I smiled slightly. We picked up some meats, vegetables, fruits, some lunch stuff for Oliver to take to work with him, etc, etc. By the time we were finished we had a whole cart full, and I hoped that we had enough money to pay for everything. Oliver left me some money to buy the stuff and I had some money as well in case he didn't give me enough. 'I really need to get a job.' I said inside of my head as the cashier started ringing everything up. 'But then you won't be able to spend as much time with Will, and I don't wanna leave him alone.' I thought inside of my head. I was so conflicted, but I knew I couldn't avoid the inevitable. To my relief, we had enough money. Once we paid for the stuff we headed outside with our cart and sat down at a bench that was outside of the store. "I hope Liv is available, or we might have to walk home with our shopping cart." I joked slightly. "Don't you have your drivers license?" Will asked me curiously as I texted Liv. "Yeah, I just don't have the money for a car." I replied, and he nodded to let me know he understood. After a while Liv pulled up in her black camaro. "Get in losers." She said with a laugh, and I laughed as well. Will just smiled slightly; I knew he didn't get the reference, but it didn't matter. Will and I put the groceries in the car and he said he'd take the cart back. While he did that I went ahead and got into the passenger side of the vehicle. "Who's that? He's hot." Liv said as she played with a strand of her long black hair. "That's my friend, Will. He's staying with Oliver and I." I replied. "When did you move in with Oliver?" She asked me curiously with curious eyes. I explained to her that Derek and I broke up and about his insane reaction. Then I told her how Will saved me and how we all just sort of ended up living together. "Tell me a little about him." She said, referring to Will. "He's kind, caring, charming, smart, kinda reserved, sweet, he has a big heart, and he... he just has a gentle soul." I replied as Will started walking towards the car. "Oooo. It sounds like someone has a little crush." She teased, wiggling her eyebrows slightly. "Stop acting like it's a big deal, besides, it doesn't matter if I do anyway." I replied. "What do you mean?" She asked with furrowed brows. "He loves someone else." I replied a few seconds before Will opened the door and climbed inside. "Sorry it took me so long. A woman stopped me and started flirting with me. I told her I wasn't interested, but she wouldn't listen. I never thought I was gonna get away from her." He said as he buckled up. I introduced him to Liv and they made small talk just like he and Jessica did. In no time we were back at the apartment putting groceries away. I hadn't noticed that we skipped lunch until my stomach started growling. "Sounds like someone is hungry." Will said with a smile on his face. I blushed with embarrassment, which made him even more amused. When we finished putting everything away he made us lunch. After we ate he went to take a shower and I opened my sketchbook to draw a little. I didn't even have to sit around and wonder what I was gonna draw. A few minutes passed, and a light sketch of Will started to come together on the page. If he ever found this I'd be so embarrassed, but a part of me didn't care. I just wanted a picture of him so I could remember him in case anything bad happened... in case my nightmare came true and I never get to see him again.
