HAI! :D

The song for this chapter is "Dear Mr. President" by P!nk. I feel really connected to this song, just because I'm  a very passionate person, especially about fairness and having everyone treated the same. But eh, whatever. The reason why I chose it is because I think of Jaha everytime I listen to it now.

BAI! :D

Chapter Thirty-Two

"So what movie do you wanna watch?" Eve asked, walking over to the large cabinet where she kept her old movies.

"I don't a lot of movie titles, you can pick." Murphy replied, plucking a piece of popcorn from the bowl he was carrying and popping it into his mouth.

She smiled softly before pulling out a random movie. "I wanna show you what a cliche movie scene looks like."

He chuckled. "What exactly IS a cliche movie scene?"

She put the DVD into the player, quickly pressing play before grabbing the remote and bringing it with her over to the table. "It basically means that every movie has it. It just happens a lot. Too much, actually. That's what cliche means." She shrugged her shoulders. "It's not unique at all."

"Huh." He said, biting the inside of his cheek slightly. "Well in that case I hate it."

She laughed before sitting down beside him, and he moved his arm around her shoulders, holding her close to him.

The opening credits began, and Murphy raised an eyebrow. "Really? The Notebook?

"Yes. The Notebook." She said, not taking her eyes off the screen. She suddenly paused, then turned back to him. "Wait, how do you even know about it?"

"We had a lot of movies and T.V. shows on the Ark, I've heard about this but haven't ever watched it." He shrugged.

"Did you think you'd like it?" She smiled slightly, an eyebrow raised.

He chuckled. "What do you think, Angel?"

"Why do you always call me that?" She furrowed her eyebrows. She didn't look annoyed or anything, she just looked curious.

"Well... When I first met you, I thought that's what you looked like at first." He smiled slightly. "And you're also a good girl, too."

She raised an eyebrow again, then laughed and shook her head. "Oh please, I'm far from good."

"Angel, you're always a good girl. Be proud of who you are." He chuckled.

"Oh really?"

He laughed. "I remember how the last conversation like this ended."

She smirked slightly before moving closer to him. She moved her hand to the side of his face, making his head turn and face her. She leaned forwards, kissing him softly. But Murphy didn't do softly.

He swept his hand under her leg, suddenly lifting her and moving her body so that she was on his lap, straddling him. Unfortunately, a minute later he heard a loud knock at the door. He ignored it at first, then ended up groaning when he heard it again. He sighed, and Eve got off his lap so that he could stand up. He walked quickly to the door, mumbling curses under his breath.

He pulled it open, only to expose a worried looking messenger. “Leader Layton wants you at the colony hall.” He said, and Murphy dismissed him before turning back to Eve and shutting the door.

“Something tells me this isn't gonna be good.” He sighed.

*

When Eve and Murphy went into the room, Jack was practically screaming at the council members. He was pacing back and forth at the head of the table.

“This is more than a thousand people we're talking about!”

“Yes, of which we don't have room for!” One of the older council members argued, slightly calmer than Jack. Well, if he was more angered, he definitely wasn't showing it.

“We'll make room!”

“We can't! We barely have enough space and provisions for the people we have now!”

“Then we'll tell the other colonies!” He growled out, spinning around and slamming his fists on the table. “I'll be damned if I'm going to let a thousand people die up in space just because we didn't have an extra bedroom for them!”

“The Leader has a point,” One of the younger council members said. He had curly black hair and small, rectangular glasses, with pale skin as well. He kind of reminded Murphy of Marcel. “We're talking about the survival of a percentage of the human race, no matter how small that percentage is.”

“That doesn't matter! We don't have enough-” He was cut off by Jack screaming, literally screaming as loud as he could.

“YES IT DOES MATTER!” He said, his jaw clenched after he spoke. He breathed heavily now, his chest heaving. He sighed after a minute of complete silence from both his team and the council, then walked to the head of the table, leaning against it.

“97 years ago, we were affected badly by a nuclear war from the arguing over rights, and freedom, and rules. The majority of the human race was gone.” He paused. “Our main focus now is not to set the rules, or to find our rights, or to fight for our freedom. Our focus is trying to do one thing, and one thing only: Survive. And we can't do that without the people of the Ark. If anyone knows how to beat the odds and survive, it's them.” He said,

The council stayed silent, until the man argued again. “We just don't have enough room.” He sighed.

“We also don't have room for you either. But we'll keep you around.” Jack said. “Just not on this council. You can leave.” He said sternly, standing up straight with his arms crossed over his chest.

The man stared up at Jack, his lips parted in disbelief. “Sir, I-”

Jack held up his hand, stopping him from speaking anymore. “Now.”

The man swallowed dryly, blinking multiple times, still in disbelief. He stood up, pushing his chair back to touch the table and slowly walking out of the room, leaving everyone else but Jack, Murphy, and Eve in shock. They knew him well enough to know that he didn't have a lot of patience when it came to dealing with people like him.

“We will welcome the people from the Ark into our colony. If we don't have room, then we will send them to other colonies as well. Meeting adjourned.” He said, dismissing the council members but telling his team to stay.

“Raven has come in contact with the ark. She could only access the speaker system long enough to find out that the exodus ship was holding onto the main power source of the ark, and caused it to be crippled when the ship was forced launch by a former chancellor, Sidney.” He paused. “The ark will be moving towards earth within the next ten hours. So I would suggest that you get some sleep while you still can.” He said, then turned around and left the room, Raven behind him.

*

Eve smiled softly when Murphy held her hand slightly tighter once they neared the tree. She glanced back at the others, which mainly included the 100 and the majority of the colony. They were all waiting, some more patiently than others. They were waiting for the ship to come down. Or, in this case, the station.

Murphy suddenly let go of her hand, and was soon in the tree, on the thickest branch of it. He grinned down at her, then put his hand down to her.

“Murphy, you know I'm not good with heights.” She argued, shaking her head.

“Don't worry. I'll protect you.” He smiled softly, stretching out his hand further. “Trust me.”

She saw in his eyes that he was sincere, so she sighed and then put her hand in his. He yanked her up, wrapping his arm around her waist when she stumbled a little and almost fell. He smiled down at her. “See? It's not so bad.”

She sighed, and nodded. “I guess.” She mumbled, staring down at the ground. She shuddered a little, and Murphy turned her head so that she was just looking at him.

“You'll be fine.” He said. “Think of the bright side. You can see the station land better.”

She sighed.

“And,” He smirked. “You're up here with me.”

That got her smiling. “I guess that's a good point.”

He grinned at her, then the grin slowly faded. He almost seemed puzzled by something. He moved forwards, and she leaned back as well, putting her back against the trunk of the tree. He stared down at her, placing his right forearm beside her head and keeping his left arm around her waist.

He leaned down, giving her a soft and swift kiss before smiling softly down at her. She moved her hands up to his chest, then her fingers trailed to his shoulders and up to his neck. She pulled him down again to kiss him deeply. He pulled her closer to him, smiling into the kiss

They both pulled away hastily when they heard a voice down below them. “GET A ROOM!” Jane yelled, staring up at them with her arms crossed over her chest as she smirked.

“Oh, shut it Jane!” Eve yelled back.

Adam came beside Jane, who moved so that she was leaning on his shoulder. He chuckled, shaking his head with his arms crossed over his chest.

“Well, I suppose we should go somewhere we're wanted.” He said, shaking his head and sighing with a fake tone to it.

Jane nodded, sighing the same way, and they both quickly left.

Murphy looked back at her, smiling lightly.

Eve's lips parted when she saw his face light up, literally light up. And not from the many torches that were surrounding the tree. It was from the large cube-like steel structure currently falling from the sky.

Both of them were now staring at it, along with the large crowd that had gathered. It was literally like a large steel box. It had pieces of metal flying off it and disappearing into the dark night sky, and was now falling quickly. Before it could get too fast, however, a parachute flew out behind it. It jerked upwards, then slowly fell near a small pond of which Eve was sure was near the colony. Maybe about ten miles or less.

Eve grinned at Murphy. “They're here.”
